AKSARA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra (Journal of Linguistics and Literature) is a biannual journal (April and October) published by the Department of Language and Arts Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. The journal aims to promote the development of links between research in linguistics, applied linguistics, arts, as well as literature and its application in professional and educational settings. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji: (1) sosiologi pengarang; (2) sosiologi karya sastra; (3) sosiologi pembaca. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Jejak sang Pencerah karya Didik L. Hariri. Teknik pengumpulan data mempergunakan teknik studi pustaka, membaca dan menganalisis. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi, membandingkan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan penelitian sekarang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa novel Jejak sang Pencerah karya Didik L. Hariri mengandung aspek sosiologi sastra berupa sosiologi pengarang, sosiologi karya sastra dan sosiologi pembaca. Aspek sosiologi pengarang berhubungan dengan sosiologi tokoh utama, seorang pemimpin dan seorang pendidik. Aspek sosiologi karya sastra diungkap secara lengkap antara lain: aspek sosial religius, sosial ekonomi, sosial politik, sosial pendidikan dan sosial etika. Aspek sosiologi pembaca diungkap tentang dampak sosial bagi masyarakat pembaca. Kata kunci: sosiologi pengarang, karya sastra, pembaca

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze differences in the frequency, duration, and intensity of sound between male and female speakers of the Banjarnese. The research method is an experimental approach that utilizes a mixed method combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Additionally, the study utilizes an instrumental approach, where the researcher employs the Praat program to analyze the frequency, intensity, and duration of sound produced by male and female speakers of the Banjarnese. Data were collected from one male and one female speaker of the Banjarnese. The analysis indicates that the frequency of sound produced by male speaker of the Banjarnese tends to be lower than that of female speaker. The duration of sound produced by male speaker is also shorter compared to that of female speaker. Furthermore, the intensity of sound produced by male speaker tends to be lower than that of female speaker. This study confirms the presence of significant differences in vocal characteristics between male and female speakers of the Banjarnese. These results suggest the existence of distinct linguistic patterns among genders within the Banjarnese community.Keywords: Banjarnese, Durations, Frequencies, Intensities, Praat Application

Abstract

Indonesia boasts diversity in its ethnicities, nationalities, and languages. In the context of a bilingual society, the exclusive use of a single language in communication becomes impractical. Hence, the phenomenon of code-switching commonly occurs, which involves the mixing of two or more languages during language interaction. This study focuses on analyzing code-switching in television advertising language in the year 2023. The aim of this research is to identify various forms of code-switching utilized in television advertising language, including phrases, clauses, hybrids, and word repetitions. The research methodology employed is qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as advanced listening, recording, coding, and transcription. Data analysis is conducted using the distributional method. The results of this study indicate that modern television advertisements often combine various language elements to achieve a more effective communication impact with the audience.Keywords: code, mixing, advertise, television

Abstract

The form of feminism raised by popular novels with the aim of describing how pro-feminism occurs is the background to this research. The data source for this research uses the novel Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam by Dian Purnomo and the data used is the form of pro-feminism that occurs in the novel as well as the form of feminism experienced by the main character. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method which is analyzed using content analysis techniques for the novel. The results of this analysis produced eight forms of pro-feminism data, the first form of pro-feminism from the character Dangu Toda was found in two data on pages 20 and 79. Second, the form of pro-feminism in Teman Magi was found in one data on page 119. The three, forms of pro-feminism in Tara were found in one data on page 105 Finally, the form of pro-feminism from the LSM, Gema Perempuan, found four data on pages 106, 122, 131, and 152. The form of feminism that occurs in this main character has four forms of gender concepts, namely gender and stereotypes, gender and marginalization, gender and subordination, and gender and violence. Keywords: feminism, novels, profeminism

Abstract

Analysis of material presentation is an activity in determining the validity and suitability of a textbook for educational institutions. In essence, textbooks are one of the factors that support the success of learning. However, another fact was found that textbooks can also be a factor causing poor learning progress. This study aims to provide an overview for educational institutions related to the textbooks studied which can be used as a reference for selecting textbooks. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The object of research is the book Nahwu Wadhih. Data collection techniques were carried out using library research and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques. Based on the results of this study, from the selection aspect of the book Nahwu Wadhih it aims to familiarize beginners in learning Arabic through an effective model, it is common for educational institutions in Indonesia to complete learning the book Nahwu Wadih every volume for 1 academic year. Judging from the aspect of gradation, the book Nahwu Wadhih uses Rotary Gradation, the type of linguistic gradation is grammatical gradation. Judging from the presentation aspect, this book can be taught by teachers using all existing procedures. Judging from the repetition aspect, this book contains various tests in each chapter. Selection of inappropriate textbooks can cause difficulties for students and teachers. This study has limitations in the literature review because there are few studies using the same subject. For future researchers, it is advisable to carry out an analysis based on other theories as well because there is a possibility that this problem will change.Keywords: textbooks, nahwu wadhih, mackey theory

Abstract

This research aims to classify the use of imperative sentences in Bengkulu on the TikTok account @roykiosaki_ through syntax studies. This research study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Therefore, this research specifically analyzes the imperative sentences used by one of the content creators on the TikTok platform. The data in this research is in the form of speech or conversation (dialogue) between characters in which there are imperative sentences and their context. The data source in this research is the TikTok video account @roykiosaki_. Data was collected using the listening method and note-taking techniques with orthographic transcription. Data was obtained from speech/conversation (dialogue) between characters played personally in which there were imperative sentences and their context. Data collection techniques used include Cakap Free Involvement Listening (SBLC) techniques, note-taking techniques and content analysis. The data analysis technique uses the distribution method as well as the loss technique and replacement technique as advanced techniques. This research includes an analysis of imperative sentences in the Bengkulu regional language on the TikTok social media account @roykiosaki_ based on syntactic studies, namely involving intonation and imperative sentences as well as language markers which can result in differences in the way they are delivered but have the same meaning, namely commanding sentences. The results of this research concluded that there were 46 data each, 26 ordinary imperative sentences, 2 soft imperative sentences, 2 request imperative sentences, and 16 prohibition imperative sentences in the TikTok video content @roykiosaki_, no invitation imperative sentences were identified. The particle markers "-lah" and "-kan" in Bengkulu are most commonly used in ordinary imperative sentences and prohibitions. Of the several words that indicate imperative sentences, they can be deleted or replaced (substituted) using the technique for direct elements (BUL), but there are also words that cannot be deleted or replaced because they will change the meaning or are even unacceptable/meaningless at all. Keywords: Imperative Sentences, Bengkulu, Intonation, Lingual Markers, Social Media

Abstract

This research is based on the selfish side that exists in the personality of the main character in Daisy Ann's novel Dangerous Romance which can be studied more deeply with Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative, with the aim of describing the personalities of the main characters, Maura and Benny Arliansyah, based on the concepts of Id, Ego, and Superego. The research data are sentences quoted directly from the novel Dangerous Romance by Daisy Ann. The identity of Maura's personality includes the desire to possess, the desire for Ben's attention, the desire to be a good wife, and the desire to be a friend of Ben. The ego of the Maura personality encompasses selfishness, ambition, and reluctance to surrender, attention, openness, and jealousy. The superego in Maura's individuality involves the awareness of his egoism and the consciousness of releasing Ben. As for the superego that is seen in him, it is his awareness of his fault. These personality concepts can be used as a life lesson that one's selfishness can destroy everything. This finding is also a sign that Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory can be used as a primary foundation in the study of novel literature so that it can be reimplemented in other literary works, whether drama or scripture.Keywords: Dangerous Romance, Psychoanalysis, Main Characters

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know te various motivation of SMP Negeri 13 Kota Serang students in nonliterary extracurricular activities. This study is a explanatory quantitative research methods. The data collection technique used in this research is form of a questionnaire. This research was taken from students at SMP Negeri 13 Serang using a simple random sampling. The results of the research showed that the competition and competency indicators reached a percentage of 37% with the descriptor "feeling competent in the field of literature" at 9% and the descriptor "having achievements in the field of literature" at 28%. The implication of these findings is that students must be the benchmark where students must improve themselves so that they can participate in literary extracurricular activities at school well and the school must be sensitive to students' motivations whether they are interested or not in participating in literary extracurricular activities at school. Keywords: Extracurricular, SMPN 13 Kota Serang, Student

Abstract

Penerjemahan merupakan sebuah proses yang kompleks dan masih menjadi sebuah tantangan secara kontinu terlebih mengikuti disrupsi laju pesatnya teknologi yang selalu berubah termasuk dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Salah satunya dalam bidang penerjemahan bahasa, namun masih belum banyak yang menggali penerapan strategi penerjemahan yang berfokus pada moda pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara daring. Oleh karena itu studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi penerjemahan teks bahasa Inggris ke dalam teks bahasa Indonesia yang dilakukan secara daring. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan partisipan berjumlah 30 mahasiswa Universitas Terbuka yang mengambil mata kuliah English for Translation. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara daring dengan aplikasi platform Moodle di mana data diambil dari tugas menerjemahkan paragraf, selanjutnya di kategorisasikan sesuai dengan strategi penerjemahan menurut Newmark dan Vinay & Darbelnet dan dianalisis sesuai dengan teori mereka. Hasil studi menunjukkan strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan secara berurutan intensitasnya yaitu literal, calque, reduction, borrowing, transposition, modulation, expansion, cultural equivalent, equivalence, adaptation, dan description equivalent. Implikasi dari studi ini dapat membantu penerjemah dalam upaya menerjemahkan TS ke TT sebagai opsi untuk memperoleh hasil terjemahan yang baik dan berterima.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the prophetic values in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy and Implications for Literature Learning in Madrasah Aliyah (MA). In this thesis, researchers use analytical techniques or qualitative descriptive methods. Descriptive qualitative is qualitative data in the form of words, schemes, and images. The process of data analysis is carried out by reading, analyzing the prophetic values in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Based on data analysis, the results of analysis in the aspect of prophetic values were found through conversations and narratives in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, it is known that there are 3 (three) elements of prophetic values in it, namely 1. Humanization (Amar Ma'ruf), 2. Liberation (Nahi Munkar), 3. Transcendence (Tu'minunna Billah). Researchers found 95 prophetic values in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy including (39 values of humanization or amar ma'ruf, 26 values of liberation or nahi munkar, 30 values of transcendence or tu'minunna billah). The results of this study revealed the prophetic values in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy which narrowed down into three aspects. First humanization, humanization in this study is to produce far hatred, always do good to anyone who hurts, respect and respect parents, care for others and always invite in terms of kindness. Both liberations, liberation in this study is related to the rejection of corruption, eradication from ignorance, acquittal from vile accusations or slander, and discussion of the entanglement of use in political matters. Third, transcendence in this study is concerned with acknowledging God's power and power with complete conviction that everything and all motion and action proceeds from Him. Keywords: Prophetic Value, Qualitative Descriptive, Clear Eyed Angel Novel
