Abstract

Globalization has significantly impacted various aspects of human life, particularly in the cultural sphere, where local traditions and values face the threat of erosion due to the widespread influence of foreign cultures. In this context, the Indonesian language plays a vital role not only as a national unifying tool but also as a strategic medium for preserving and transmitting local cultural identity. This study aims to analyze the functions of the Indonesian language in preserving local cultural identity amid the challenges posed by globalization. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through an extensive literature review, the research highlights the multifaceted role of the Indonesian language. It is not merely a means of communication, but also a carrier of local wisdom expressed through literary works, educational content, media discourse, and oral traditions that reflect the nation's cultural richness. The findings emphasize the importance of strengthening the use of the Indonesian language in everyday life and formal settings, particularly in ways that are rooted in local values and knowledge systems. This study underscores the need for collective awareness and national commitment to protect the Indonesian language as a symbol of identity and a cultural safeguard. It contributes to scholarly discussions on language policy, cultural resilience, and identity preservation in an increasingly globalized world.

Abstract

Halal product certification plays a crucial role in ensuring product safety, enhancing consumer trust, and expanding market opportunities, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). However, many MSME owners lack awareness of its importance and face challenges in the certification process due to limited knowledge and resources. This community service program, conducted in Bujung Buring Village, Tanjung Raya District, Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province, aims to address these issues by increasing MSMEs' understanding of halal certification and assisting them in obtaining certification. The study employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, integrating research with social change by involving MSMEs throughout the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The program includes potential and problem mapping, certification awareness campaigns, and direct assistance in the halal certification registration process. The results indicate a significant improvement in MSME owners’ understanding of halal certification. Additionally, MSMEs reported increased confidence in marketing their products to a broader consumer base. This initiative demonstrates the effectiveness of community-based interventions in promoting halal certification and can serve as a model for similar programs in other regions. Further research and policy support are recommended to sustain and expand halal certification initiatives for MSMEs, ensuring wider adoption and compliance with halal product regulations.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed the education sector, presenting both opportunities and challenges for improving teacher performance. This study investigates the influence of digital competence and organizational support on teacher performance, with work motivation serving as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with SPSS software. The research sample consisted of 205 teachers from private senior high schools in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. The results indicate that digital competence and organizational support both have a positive and significant impact on teacher performance. Moreover, work motivation significantly moderates the relationships between these independent variables and teacher performance, strengthening their effects. These findings highlight the importance of empowering teachers through continuous digital training and organizational initiatives. It is recommended that schools establish teacher learning communities, provide performance-based incentives, offer psychological support, and foster collaborative environments to enhance overall educational quality in the digital era.

Abstract

Thematic learning in elementary schools requires innovative instructional media to enhance student engagement and comprehension. However, the lack of interactive and engaging learning media often results in student disengagement and low participation. This study aims to develop, validate, and assess the practicality of a three-dimensional (3D) learning medium that integrates pop-up book features and finger puppets as visual and kinesthetic learning aids. The research employs the ADDIE development model, comprising five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants included 10–11-year-old students from MIN 1 Bandar Lampung and SDN 1 Pajaresuk. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and document analysis. Validation results indicated that the learning medium was highly feasible, with average scores of 93% from two content experts, 81% from two media experts, and 89% from two language experts. Practicality assessments by two educators yielded an average score of 98%, while small-scale and large-scale trials resulted in scores of 89% and 94%, respectively. These findings suggest that the developed 3D learning medium is both feasible and effective for thematic learning in elementary schools, offering a promising approach to enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Work productivity is often considered an important indicator in evaluating employee performance, particularly in the production sector where consistent achievement of operational targets is expected. PT. Putra Wijaya Production, a company engaged in screen printing and garment services, appears to face challenges in sustaining and enhancing employee productivity amid growing industry competition. This study aims to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, work discipline, and intrinsic motivation on the work productivity of production employees at PT. Putra Wijaya Production. A quantitative approach was employed to analyze the influence among variables. Work productivity was measured by the employees’ ability to meet company targets through the optimal use of time, effort, and skills. The sample consisted of 35 respondents selected using purposive sampling, with inclusion criteria of a minimum one-year tenure and at least 90% attendance. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. The findings suggest that transformational leadership, work discipline, and intrinsic motivation collectively have a significant effect on work productivity. However, work discipline was not found to have a direct individual effect. These results indicate that while discipline remains important, transformational leadership and intrinsic motivation may have a more substantial role in improving employee productivity. The study implies that companies could benefit from focusing on developing inspirational leadership styles and fostering employees’ intrinsic motivation as part of their productivity enhancement strategies.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding in physics is often a challenge for students, especially in abstract topics such as Boyle's Law in the kinetic theory of gases. This study aims to analyze the effect of using simple teaching aids in enhancing students understanding of Boyle's Law. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The study involved 34 high school students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through a conceptual understanding test administered before and after the implementation of the Boyle's Law teaching aid. The results showed a significant increase in the average posttest score (78.13) compared to the pretest score (38.27), with a decrease in standard deviation from 9.59 to 4.23. The N-Gain score of 0.68 indicates that the improvement in students understanding falls within the moderate category. These findings suggest that simple teaching aids can help bridge the gap between abstract concepts in Boyle's Law and students concrete experiences, thereby enhancing their conceptual understanding. This indicates that the use of simple teaching aids can be an effective instructional strategy for teaching abstract physics concepts, particularly Boyle's Law.

Abstract

India is undergoing a significant demographic transition, with declining birth rates and increasing life expectancy contributing to a rapidly growing elderly population. By 2050, the number of older adults is projected to quadruple, placing immense pressure on the country’s healthcare infrastructure. A recent World Health Organization report highlights that the rising elderly population in India and China will further strain national health systems. Despite this, geriatrics remains an underdeveloped field in Indian medical education, resulting in a lack of specialized healthcare services for older adults. This study provides an overview of India’s geriatric healthcare system, focusing on existing policies, infrastructure, and healthcare models. Through a comprehensive review of healthcare programs, government initiatives, and geriatric service frameworks, this study identifies key challenges such as inadequate specialized training, limited healthcare accessibility, and disparities in service quality, particularly in rural areas. Additionally, this study examines the unique healthcare needs of older adults, including frailty, atypical disease presentations, and increased risks of complications. The findings highlight the urgent need for a more integrated and multidisciplinary approach to geriatric care. Strengthening primary healthcare services, increasing geriatric training for healthcare professionals, and promoting community-based care models are crucial steps in addressing these challenges. Raising awareness of the medical and socioeconomic difficulties faced by India’s elderly population is essential to improving their quality of life. By enhancing existing healthcare policies and infrastructure, India can better prepare to meet the needs of its ageing population and ensure sustainable elderly care services in the future.
