Abstract

This quantitative study examines the influence of Microlearning Content and Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) Platform on English proficiency among participants in the Ministry of Information and Communications (Bakti Kominfo) English for Tourism Program. Drawing upon a comprehensive review of literature, the research elucidates the evolving landscape of language education, emphasizing the emergence of innovative methodologies such as microlearning and MALL. Through regression coefficient analysis, the study empirically demonstrates the individual influences of Microlearning Content and MALL Platform on English proficiency. Results indicate that Microlearning Content significantly influences English proficiency, with a relative contribution of 46.3%. Similarly, MALL Platform exhibits a substantial impact on English proficiency, contributing 43.0% to language learning outcomes. Furthermore, the combined influence of Microlearning Content and MALL Platform was found to significantly affect English proficiency, contributing to 55.2% of language proficiency variation. These findings underscore the importance of integrating technology-enhanced learning approaches to foster English language proficiency in non-formal education settings. The research offers insights for educators, policymakers, and practitioners to design effective language programs that leverage microlearning and MALL platforms to meet the evolving needs of language learners in the digital age

Abstract

The evolving impact of binge-watching influences consumers' intentions to continue using video-on-demand (VOD) platforms, with fear of missing out as a mediating factor. This study focuses on young individuals aged 17-25 years. Employing a quantitative research design, it aims to demonstrate the cause-and-effect relationships between binge-watching and continuation intention, mediated by fear of missing out. The novelty of this research lies in exploring both the direct relationship between binge-watching and continuation intention and the mediating role of fear of missing out, offering deeper insights into the underlying mechanisms of consumer behavior. Data analysis was conducted using the Smart PLS application, utilizing primary data for the study. The findings reveal that fear of missing out directly have a positive and significant impact on the continuation intention using video-on-demand services. While fear of missing out also positively influences binge-watching but this effect is not significant. Additionally, binge watching exerts a positive and significant effect on the continuation intention for video-on-demand. However, indirectly, binge watching has a positive but not significant effect on the continuation intention for video-on-demand when mediated by fear of missing out

Abstract

This study examines the hand gestures of English teachers during lessons in two junior high schools in Tasikmalaya, concentrating on their varieties, frequency, and their impact on student learning. We collected data through teacher interviews, classroom observations, and qualitative content analysis of gestures. The research utilized Systemic Functional Multimodal Analysis, appraisal theory, and a gesture framework for data analysis. Findings reveal that teachers utilized representational, metaphorical, deictic, and evaluative gestures, adapting their use to students’ proficiency levels, with beginners receiving more gestures. These intentional hand gestures helped understanding, accommodated diverse learning styles, and increased student engagement, highlighting gestures' vital role in effective teaching and learning

Abstract

When there is world economic instability, innovation and change and adaptation are needed. In an era of rapidly changing global trade, countries with high HDI have a better ability to adapt to market and technological changes, which is important to remain competitive. The aim of this research is to determine the role of HDI and Demography in global trade. The article can also explain the factors that need to be considered in facing global trade in the future. The method used is the literature review method. The steps taken are identifying problems, collecting sources, extracting sources, selecting sources, analyzing sources and drawing conclusions. The important role of human development and demographic indices is labor productivity, the need for innovation and creativity in the quality of education. Labor availability also determines the readiness and supply of various needs and products. A large young population can provide sufficient labor to support the growth of industry and commerce. Countries with growing populations usually have larger labor forces, allowing them to increase production capacity. The government is advised to implement friendly and competitive trade and investment policies. Demography helps governments formulate policies that support trade

Abstract

Systemic contact dermatitis (SCD) is a skin condition in which a person who is sensitized to an allergen through the skin will react to the same allergen or cross-react through systemic routes, such as oral, intravenous, intramuscular, inhalation, transmucosal, or transcutaneous exposure. A 28-year-old male patient came to the Cut Meutia Hospital Dermatology and Venereology Clinic with complaints of itching accompanied by hyperpigmentation all over the body since the last 3 months. From the anamnesis, physical examination and dermatological examination, the patient was diagnosed with Systemic Contact Dermatitis. Treatment of SCD involves allergen avoidance as determined by clinical history. For difficult cases, immunosuppressive agents can be used to manage SCD in patients who fail topical corticosteroids or dietary avoidance
