Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of problems encountered from broken homes on academic performance among senior high students. This study adopted a Descriptive-Correlational design. A constructed survey questionnaires were given to 168 students identified through purposive sampling for the response of the problems encountered of being in a broken home.  Through simple random sampling, another 168 students from two-parent homes were used as a comparison. Secondary data such as grade point average was taken from the School Registrar. Descriptive statistics were employed to summarize the different variables and Spearman correlation was undertaken to identify the significant relationship between variables. Results revealed that there is no significant difference between the academic performance of students from single-parent homes and two-parent homes. It is also found out that problems encountered by students from single parent homes does not affects their studies and learning attitudes. With the aid of Spearman Rho Correlation Coefficient, it denotes a highly significant relationship between problems encountered by the students and their academic performance. This suggest that students are considering their problems as motivation to strive hard in their studies in order to become successful.

Abstract

When implementing E-learning, the teacher does not meet face to face with students, even though the role of the teacher in schools is very important in addition to teaching and educating students. It causes E-learning to have various impacts, both negative and positive impacts. This study aimed to analyze E-learning learning in fifth-grade elementary school students. This type of research was qualitative research. The techniques used to collect data were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The instrument used to analyze the data was a questionnaire. The technique used in analyzing the data was descriptive qualitative. The data analysis technique in this study used three data acquisition procedures, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The result of the research is that E-learning can increase students' motivation and interest in learning more actively. E-learning is more flexible and can be accessed from anywhere. Can make students more independent in solving problems. The obstacle faced by students is the lack of supporting technology facilities for this learning process, such as the quality of gadgets and signals in the area around the school.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid and reliable assessment instruments for earthquake disaster preparedness in kindergarten for group B. This type of research is a research development (Research and Development) carried out using a procedural development model. In the instrument validation stage or the design validation, the assessment was carried out by two material experts. The instrument validation in this study was calculated using the Gregory formula. The product trial stage used 30 students, and the results were calculated using the Alpha Cronbach formula. This research results from the content validity test of 1.00, which is included in the very high category, and the validity test of the resulting items is nine useful items. Test the reliability of the instrument obtained results of 0.66, including high criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that the instrument developed has been tested for its validity and reliability so that it can be used as an accurate learning assessment tool to measure the level of earthquake disaster preparedness in kindergarten in group B.

Abstract

The Importance of HOTS-Based Student Worksheets in Elementary Schools. High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) in elementary schools can increase students' higher-order thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the high-grade HOTS-based Student Worksheets in Elementary Schools. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The method used to collect data are interviews, observation, and documentation. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. The research subject is the fourth-grade teacher. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. This study indicates that the analysis of the high-grade HOTS-based Student Worksheets in elementary schools has been implemented by the teacher quite well. The Student Worksheets made by the teacher have led to higher-order thinking skills, namely C4 (analyzing), C5 (evaluating), and C6 (creating), according to the results of interviews and documentation data. It can be concluded that the analysis of the HOTS-based student worksheets has been realized well. Suggestions that can be given are to re-emphasize High order thinking skills (HOTS) into Student Worksheets so that learning can be maximized in applying HOTS.

Abstract

Difficulty in the calculation process. It has an impact on low mathematics learning outcomes for students. This study aims to analyze students' learning difficulties in terms of mathematical problem-solving abilities in grade III elementary school fractions. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects taken were six students—data obtained through interviews, tests, and documentation. The instrument used to analyze the data is a questionnaire. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The study results are that students have a score on the aspect of understanding the problem of 50 (33.3%) in the medium difficulty category. The planning aspect has a score of 34 (22.60%) (great difficulty). Implementing the plan has a score of 95 (63.30%) (low difficulty). The re-checking aspect has a score of 98 (65.30%), which is in the low difficulty category. The difficulty is due to the lack of understanding of the questions, errors in determining the correct strategy to solve the problems and difficulties in the calculation process, and the child's low grasping power.

Abstract

Interactive learning media has not yet been developed by utilizing visual media to experience abstract learning difficulties. Students do not understand the material during the learning process. This study aims to develop a media billboard for cow digestion that can be used as an alternative media to help the learning process. This type of research is research and development (R&D), with the development model used being the ADDIE model. Respondents in this study were six teachers and 58 fifth-grade elementary school students. This study involved three material experts and three learning media experts. The techniques used in collecting data are interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative. The results of this study were obtained based on the validity test results from the assessment of the media expert validator with a score of 99% (excellent), learning material expert 98% (excellent). The results of the practicality test were obtained based on the teacher's response assessment of 94% (excellent) and 99% of students (excellent). It can be concluded that the beef digestive billboard media is valid and practical to use on the theme of healthy food, the sub-theme of how the body processes food for fifth-grade elementary school students.
