Abstract

This study aims to analyze the profile of elementary school students' numeracy abilities based on the cognitive levels of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), namely knowing, applying, and reasoning, through a descriptive meta-analysis approach based on the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Numeracy is an essential competency of the 21st century that is the foundation for developing logical, critical, and problem-solving thinking skills since elementary school. The national assessment policy through AKM requires Mathematics learning that is not only oriented towards mastery of concepts, but also reasoning and application in real-life contexts. This research method refers to the PRISMA 2020 guidelines by analyzing 30 scientific articles published between 2019 and 2025, consisting of articles from national journals accredited by SINTA 1–2 and international journals indexed by Scopus. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively by classifying numeracy indicators into AKM cognitive levels. The results showed that elementary school students' numeracy abilities were dominated by the knowing level, followed by applying, while the reasoning level was the lowest achievement. These findings indicate the need to strengthen numeracy learning based on reasoning and authentic contexts. This research provides important implications for teachers, researchers, and policy makers in improving the quality of elementary school mathematics learning in line with AKM demands.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the 21st century has encouraged innovation in learning strategies that are more engaging and focused on active student participation. This study aims to design and develop an interactive learning medium in the form of a digital pop-up book focused on the subject of Natural Sciences (IPA) for fifth-grade elementary school students, with the main topic being the water cycle. The development of the medium was based on the ADDIE instructional design model, which includes five stages: needs analysis, concept design, product development, classroom implementation, and evaluation of the medium's effectiveness and practicality. The digital pop-up book was created using Microsoft PowerPoint software by combining various three-dimensional visual elements, dynamic animations, voice narration, and interactive features that facilitate students' understanding of concepts. Validation results from experts showed a very high level of feasibility, namely 88% from subject matter experts and 93.3% from media experts. Meanwhile, the practicality test results by teachers and students each scored 95% and 93%, indicating that this media is very easy to use in daily learning. In addition to feasibility and practicality, the effectiveness of the media was also tested through a comparison of scores before and after using the media, showing a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. The average N-Gain score reached 79.06%, which falls into the high or effective category. Based on these results, this digital pop-up book can be concluded as a learning medium that is not only feasible and practical but also capable of having a positive impact on enhancing students' conceptual understanding and learning interest in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of early reading learning based on neuroscience principles on the phonological abilities and early reading comprehension of first grade elementary school students. In the context of education, reading is a very important basic skill, especially in the early stages of child development. Good reading skills not only affect students' academic achievement but also contribute to their cognitive and social development. Therefore, it is important to explore learning methods that can improve reading skills, especially for students in grade I. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which is a systematic approach to collecting and analyzing data from various sources. In this case, this study collects information from academic journals and current research articles that are relevant to the topic of reading learning and neuroscience. Through SLR, researchers can evaluate and synthesize findings from various studies, resulting in a more comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of neuroscience-based approaches in reading learning. The results of the analysis show that neuroscience-based approaches not only improve students' phonological abilities but also contribute significantly to early reading comprehension. Phonological abilities, which include phoneme awareness, the ability to recognize and manipulate sounds in words, are an important foundation for reading learning. Research shows that students who engage in learning designed based on neuroscience principles show significant improvements in their phonological abilities. For example, methods involving sound games and interactive activities have been shown to be effective in helping students understand the relationship between sounds and letters.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-explain-Create) learning model in improving fifth-grade elementary students’ reading comprehension of procedural texts compared to conventional instruction. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent group pretest-posttest method was applied. The participants consisted of fifth-grade students from two elementary schools in Kuningan Regency, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, then analyzed using an independent sample t-test assisted by Jeffreys’s Amazing Statictics Program (JASP). The results showed a statistically significant difference in improvement between the two goups, as indicated by a p-value of 0.001 (sig. 2-tailed< 0.05). These findings suggest that the RADEC model is effective in enhancing students’ reading comprehension, especially in understanding procedural texts, when compared to conventional learning. The implication of this research is that the RADEC learning model has the potential to be adopted as an innovative learning model to support literacy development at the elementary school level.
