Findings reveal that the South Sumatra LRT operates on a well-organized schedule, ensuring seamless travel from Airport Station to DJKA Station and vice versa, without scheduling conflicts. The system also prioritizes passenger comfort through the presence of Crew on Trip Cleaning (OTC) officers responsible for maintaining cleanliness. Additionally, the LRT meets public expectations by offering a suitable route network, planning fleet capacity effectively, establishing consistent departure times, and ensuring high security across its operations. In conclusion, the Palembang LRT system enhances travel comfort with regular scheduling and adequate facilities, highlighting its potential as a key component of Palembang's sustainable urban transportation infrastructure with continued development.

In terms of Based On Quick Wins, the Online Fairy Tale Program (DOLEN) has been able to meet both the time and the program's goals. In terms of Systematic and Adaptive Approach, the relevant agencies have succeeded in adapting to the existing situation, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, where all activities have switched to online-based, in addition to successfully synergizing with other regency/city libraries and resulting in replication. Then in the aspect of Symple Design and Continuous Refiniment, the selection of features or icons that are quite attractive and easy for users on the Instagram and Youtube or Facebook applications is one of the forms of innovation chosen by the government as a platform for online fairy tale activities (DOLEN).

The result showed there is the domination of one type of code-mixing that is used in the Instagram captions of the participant. According to Suwito (1983), there are four kinds of forms of code-mixing.  The four types of code-mixing are word insertion, phrase insertion, hybrid, and repetition. Phrase insertion became the most frequent type of codemixing that occurred in Instagram captions of those three influencers reaching 33.3%.

Abstract

This article explores the impact of ageism on job accessibility in Indonesia, focusing on the socio-economic and psychological effects of age restrictions in job advertisements on older job seekers. The research employs qualitative methods, using both secondary and primary data. Secondary data were gathered from job advertisements with age restrictions on platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram (@kemnaker), and the WhatsApp group of the Old Jobseeker Indonesia community. Primary data were obtained through interviews with informants selected via purposive sampling, using Google Forms to collect potential informant data from online platforms like LinkedIn, the Old Jobseeker Indonesia WhatsApp group, and Instagram (@kemnaker) over a 10-day period from April 18 to April 27, 2024.The findings reveal that ageism is a selection practice that implicitly excludes job seekers by using age as a criterion, particularly for frontline roles. Moreover, ageism adversely affects the social, economic, and psychological well-being of job seekers in Indonesia, contributing to their exclusion from society at micro, meso, and macro levels. Age-based job advertisements also influence job seekers’ decisions to apply, as many perceive applying for these positions to be futile.

Abstract

This study explores the leisure activities of young urban migrants in cafés, examining coffee as both a commodity and a modern mode of consumption within the framework of the culture industry. The choice of coffee and cafés is an inherent part of the identity of young people who want articulation space for cultural tastes and preferences. Thus, coffee culture and youth identity become crucial to elaborate the utilization of time conceptualized as determined by the capitalist production system. This research uses critical phenomenology to study urban migrant youth in Surabaya. It purposively determined eight informants consisting of university students from regencies in East Java, baristas, and café owners. Using mass culture analysis from the Frankfurt school, this research found that there is a standardization of space, either claimed as new or authentic, to emphasize the difference with existing cafés. Consequently, the subjectivities of young urban migrants in coffee culture settings are constructed in pursuit of novelty, popularised as ‘FoMO’. The study argues that the differentiation of cafés between urban and non-urban areas does not provide a clear distinction. Then, consumers and those who formulate the existence of cafés are faced with the need to create uniqueness or innovate to multiply profits. Instead of enjoying leisure, young urban migrants are absorbed and actively reproduce the existence of socially and virtually organized social systems.

Abstract

Bali's tourism industry heavily relies on international visitors, making English proficiency essential for tour guides who serve as cultural ambassadors. This qualitative study examines the relationship between applied linguistics principles and the English communication skills of tour guides at PT. Indo Bali Tours. Through semi-structured interviews and observations, the study explores key linguistic aspects, including vocabulary usage, discourse structuring, and pragmatic competence. Findings indicate that a lack of specialized tourism vocabulary often leads to oversimplification of complex cultural and historical narratives. Additionally, language anxiety negatively impacts fluency and engagement. These insights underscore the need for structured, tourism-specific language training programs that integrate applied linguistics principles to enhance communication effectiveness. By bridging the gap between applied linguistics and the tourism industry, this study offers practical recommendations for improving English proficiency among tour guides, ultimately enriching the visitor experience.
