Abstract

Amid the exponential rise of social media platforms particularly TikTok scholars have acknowledged its dual functionality as both a medium of communication and a potent marketing instrument for engaging contemporary consumers. The platform’s hallmark short-form video format has revolutionized the digital marketing landscape, enabling brands to craft interactive and immersive content that significantly affects consumer behavior. This study focuses on evaluating how short video marketing influences the purchase intentions of Generation Z in DKI Jakarta, with brand attitude serving as an intervening variable. Data was obtained from 100 active TikTok users who had previously made purchasing decisions influenced by short video content. Employing a quantitative methodology, the study utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data. The research offers insights into how strategic use of short-form videos can shape consumer attitudes and purchasing behavior. The results demonstrate that variables such as engaging content, scene-based experiences, participatory interactions, perceived usefulness, and celebrity involvement do not exert a significant influence on brand attitude. Conversely, perceived enjoyment emerges as a critical determinant in fostering favorable brand perceptions, underscoring the necessity of producing content that is both enjoyable and captivating. Furthermore, brand attitude exerts a substantial effect on purchase intention, indicating that positive brand perceptions enhance consumers’ likelihood of making purchases. Consequently, marketers are encouraged to prioritize emotional resonance and entertainment value over mere visual appeal, interactivity, or celebrity influence. The study underscores the pivotal role of engaging short video content in cultivating positive brand attitudes and stimulating purchase intentions among Gen Z audiences.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions to the institutional governance of Islamic boarding schools, which had been operating stably. The uncertainty of the situation, restrictions on activities, and pressure on the education system test the resilience of the leadership structure in the Islamic boarding school environment. In this context, the role of leadership becomes crucial in determining the direction of response, adaptation, and institutional consolidation. This study aims to explore how transformational leadership in Islamic boarding schools can strengthen institutional governance during and after a crisis. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through literature studies of various relevant sources. Data are analyzed interpretively to reveal thematic patterns that reflect the leadership process during the pandemic. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding school leaders responded to the crisis with a strategy of rapid decision-making, reorganization of structures, and adaptive operational adjustments. During the recovery period, institutional consolidation occurred which was marked by structural transformation and strengthening of the coordinating function. In addition, leadership also encourages innovation and independence, both in terms of education, economy, and external institutional relations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of breathing exercises on stress, anxiety, and depression levels among adolescents. The method used was quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of five adolescent participants aged 15–19 years, selected using purposive sampling based on specific inclusion criteria. The intervention involved diaphragmatic breathing exercises conducted twice daily over seven consecutive days. The research instrument used was the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21), administered before and after the intervention. In addition, participants were asked to write daily reflections regarding their experiences during the breathing sessions. The results showed a decrease in depression and anxiety scores among some participants, especially those with moderate to severe symptoms who practiced consistently. Conversely, stress scores tended to increase in participants who were less consistent. The conclusion of this study is that breathing exercises can serve as a simple intervention with positive impacts on adolescent mental health, particularly in reducing depressive symptoms. It is recommended that breathing practices be incorporated into school-based mental health promotion programs. This study contributes to the growing body of non-pharmacological approaches utilizing breath regulation to enhance adolescent psychological well-being.
