Abstract

This research aims to test the effect of Trichoderma and Bokashi biological fertilizers on the intensity of downy mildew and production of corn (Zea mays sp.). The research method uses an experimental method by testing Trichoshi fertilizer, namely a combination of Trichoderma harzianum species and Bokashi biological fertilizer made from goat manure using a Randomized Design. Group (RAK) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The Trichoshi fertilizer treatment consisted of A=without Trichoshi 0.00 g/m², B=Trichoshi 150 g/m², C=Trichoshi 200g/m² and D=Trichoshi 250 g/m². The observation parameters consist of production and intensity of downy mildew on sweet corn. Data analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a significance level of 5%. If there is a significant difference between treatments, a Duncan test at 5% level is carried out. The output of the research will be published in the National journal Sinta 4. Technology Readiness Level, namely TKT 3. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it shows that the effect of Trichoderma and Bokashi (Trichoshi) fertilizers on the growth and yield of corn production has a good effect on corn production reaching 6.27 tons/ha compared to other crops. corn that was not given Trichoshi fertilizer only reached 2.65 tonnes/ha. Apart from that, giving Trichoshi to corn plants can reduce the intensity of downy mildew attacks by up to 0.03% compared to corn plants that are not given Trichoshi fertilizer, the attack intensity reaches 1.27%. The intensity category of downy mildew attacks on corn plants is on the light category scale.

Abstract

Mount Hamiding Protected Forest (HLGH) is administratively located in North Halmahera Regency and has a role in supporting living systems, regulating water management, preventing floods and seawater intrusion and increasing soil nutrients. The current condition of HLGH is experiencing damage due to human activities, namely forest encroachment, shifting cultivation and illegal logging. The research aims to determine community perceptions and attitudes in managing protected forests. This research was conducted in the HLGH area, taking place from July – November 2022. This research used a quantitative and descriptive qualitative approach. The parameters measured are community perceptions and attitudes in managing protected forests using a Likert scale. The results of the research show the perceptions and attitudes of the community in the six research locations, namely Roko village, perception value 26.95, attitude 11.97, Soakonora perception 27.36, attitude 11.87, Togawa perception 24.68, attitude 12.51, Mamuya Perception value is 26.78, attitude 11.47, Efi perception -Efi 27.18, attitude 12.17 and Wangongira perception 24.77, attitude 12.68. These findings illustrate that the perceived value in four villages is at a medium level, and two other villages are at a low level. The attitude of the six villages is in the medium category. This illustrates that people's perceptions and attitudes towards the existence, function and benefits of protected forests are still below standard. Thus, there is a need for outreach activities about the existence of protected forests and their functions and benefits to improve community perceptions and attitudes.

Abstract

Norit is one of drugs that is often used to cure diarrhea diseases due to its role as an adsorbent of viruses and bacteria. Its function can be improved through surface modification, such as antioxidant compounds from plant extracts. Two types of plants (rosella petals and green tea leaves) were extracted by using water solvent at ratio of 10 g/200 mL and 30 g/200 mL. Those extracts were used to modify 5 g of norit. The norit and the modified norit were characterized by FTIR spectrometry, while the extracts were characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Desorption test of the modifed norit was performed by immersing it in the HCl solition (pH 1). The desorpted antioxidant was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Results of the characterization indicated increasing of -C=O, -OH, C-O, and aromatic C=C aromatic on both norit modifications. UV-Vis spectra of the plant extract showed the maximum wavelength at 283 nm and 271 nm related to functional group of antioxydant. The antioxydant of the green tea modified norit was easily desorped at pH 1 than of rosella modified norit.
