Abstract

This study aims to develop learning tools based on the Think Pair Share model on the topic of cooperation for fourth-grade elementary school students. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this study is limited to the development and theoretical evaluation stages through a literature review approach without direct field testing. The background of this study is based on observations conducted at SD Negeri Tidung, which revealed that learning activities still tend to use conventional methods, making learning less engaging and unable to optimally improve students' cooperation skills. The analysis stage involved identifying students' needs and characteristics. The design stage included designing learning tools based on the Think Pair Share model, while the development stage focused on creating interactive learning tool products. Evaluation was conducted based on literature reviews and relevant previous studies. The findings indicate that learning tools based on the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share have the potential to improve motivation, engagement, and cooperation skills among fourth-grade elementary school students. Therefore, the developed learning tools are considered theoretically feasible as an innovative learning alternative that aligns with the characteristics of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Low levels of student literacy and numeracy skills in resource-constrained schools present a fundamental challenge in basic education. This classroom action research aims to evaluate the improvement of 5th-grade students' literacy and numeracy competencies at MI DDI Tappina through the implementation of Local Instructional Theory (LIT). The study was conducted in two iterative cycles adapting the Kemmis & Taggart model, wherein a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) was designed utilizing the local context and surrounding environment as the primary learning medium. Data were gathered through cognitive literacy-numeracy tests, student engagement observation sheets, and in-depth interviews. Findings indicate that the average student test score increased significantly from 53% in Cycle I to 79% in Cycle II, surpassing the classical mastery target (75%). This improvement aligns with student active engagement, which rose from 80% to 92%. Qualitative data revealed a positive shift in teacher and student responses, turning highly receptive and enthusiastic as instructional materials became more concrete and relatable. The core value of this study lies in demonstrating that Local Instructional Theory serves as an effective instructional framework to overcome facility and media limitations without relying on high-tech devices.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the practicality of the Selected Topics in Artificial Intelligence Module as a self-learning resource for students in the Computer Engineering Program at Makassar State University. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D development model, which includes define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research subjects consisted of 10 students in the small-group pilot test and 30 students in the large-group pilot test, as well as one lecturer in charge of the course. The research instrument was a practicality questionnaire that assessed three main indicators: content, media, and usefulness. The results of the practicality test showed that the lecturer’s assessment received an average score of 82% in the practical category. Meanwhile, the questionnaire results from 21 students showed an overall average score of 85% in the practical to very practical categories, specifically: content 85% (practical), media 88% (very practical), and utility 83% (practical). These findings indicate that the developed module is easy to use, enhances conceptual understanding, and supports students’ independent learning in the Artificial Intelligence Capita Selecta course. Thus, this module is deemed suitable and practical for use as a digital learning medium in higher education.
