An applied science paper is based on original research related to community engagement program. The kind of research depends on your field or the topic of community engagement (a program that has been done, an experiment, the impact of your program, survey, interview, questionnaire, etc.). The research paper will be based on the analysis and interpretation between theory and community engagement program and you need to explain the problems faced by the local community where the program is conducted. Jurnal Pengabdian invites lecturers, students and community service activists to send manuscripts that discuss relevant topics with the focus above. Manuscripts are written using an academic approach or scientific method by presenting data on the impact of community service activities that have been carried out. The themes are written must have an impact or can be generalized to local, regional or national populations. Jurnal Pengabdian only considers the original paper for publication. It means that the manuscript has not been published and not considered to be published in another journal. Jurnal Pengabdian does not consider multiple submissions and redundant publications to be included.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide knowledge about oyster mushroom cultivation for the community in Gunung Kupang Village, Cempaka District, Banjarbaru. The implementation method in this community service activity is a method that includes counselling, providing understanding and assistance to the people of Gunung Kupang Village, Cempaka. The application of these methods is so that activity participants understand the practical techniques of oyster mushroom cultivation as an alternative protein and additional income. Activities The community service activities carried out by means of face-to-face meetings, discussions, which include training and counselling and empowerment went well. From this service activity, it appears that most of the participants do not know and understand how to practically cultivate oyster mushrooms as an alternative protein and additional income. to be able to increase income in the community of gunung kupang cempaka village. With this activity, the community is more motivated and active in increasing knowledge and production of oyster mushrooms.

Abstract

Siwalan tree or commonly referred to as palm tree (Borassus flabellifer) is a type of palm (areca nut) that grows in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Palm fruit has many benefits, one of which is that it can be processed into a variety of foods. This encoding program aims to determine the benefits of palm fruit and the processing of palm fruit can be in making pudding. The type of service carried out is experimental descriptive education. The sample used in this study was palm fruit and the result was in the form of pudding then organoleptic test to 10-15 respondents. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that lontar fruit pudding is favored by the majority of corensponden bai k in terms of taste, aroma and color so that it can be used as a business opportunity for the community. Abstract

Butterfly pea are known by various names, in English butterfly pea flowers are known as Butterfly pea tea. The Butterfly pea (Clitoria Ternatea L) has a purple, blue and white color, indicating that the Butterfly pea contains the phytochemical anthocyanin. The anthocyanin content in butterfly pea community service functions as a source of antioxidants which function as an antidote to free radicals in the body. The aim of this is to provide education or counseling about the benefits and properties and processing of butterfly pea, one of which is as a health drink combined with kalamansi orange. Community service activities were carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkulu Tengah on June 10, 2023. This activity was attended by 32 students on class XI. The method of implementing service is carried out using lecture, demonstration and discussion methods. Indicators of the level of success in implementing community service use questionnaires that are distributed to students before and after carrying out community service activities. Overall, this community service activity went very smoothly and increased students' knowledge about the benefits and properties and healthy drinks from steeping butterfly pea tea experienced a large increase when seen from the total average score before counseling by 15% to 91.88% after counseling.

Abstract

Stroke is the second cause of death and the third cause of disability in the world after heart disease and cancer in both developed and developing countries. The burden caused by stroke is mainly due to disability (public health problem) which also creates a highcost burden for both sufferers, families, society and the state. The impact of stroke in general is very diverse, such as impaired physical mobility, impaired verbal communication and even swallowing disorders, depending on the part of the brain that is damaged. If a stroke occurs in a part of the brain that plays an important role, such as the brain stem which regulates breathing, it can have serious impacts, one of which is swallowing disorders. Lesions that occur in the brain will result in impaired cognitive function such as impaired concentration and attention, which can interfere with the swallowing process, which can result in aspiration due to the entry of food and drink into the respiratory tract. Actions that can be taken to overcome swallowing difficulties in stroke patients are by performing Shaker Exercises. Shaker Exercise is a rehabilitation to strengthen weak muscles and overcome difficulty swallowing in the suprahyoid muscles of the neck. The community service method used is socialization and isometric and isotonic exercises carried out at the Harapan and Doa Hospital, Bengkulu City. After carrying out community service activities with mild stroke patients, it can reduce the problem of dysphagia in patients who suffer from stroke. It is hoped that the Shaker Exercise action will be applied as a nursing intervention while the patient is being treated in hospital.

Abstract

This service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the Jaya Bersama Farmer Group in Tanjung Dalama Village, South Curup Subdistrict, Rejang Lebong Regency, in coffee breeding using the cuttings method by giving onion extract as a root growth stimulant. The implementation method was carried out through a series of theoretical and practical training, focusing on the coffee seedling stage. Farmer groups were involved in intensive counselling and training activities, including the delivery of theory on coffee seedling, demonstration of the application of the cuttings method, and application of shallot extract. Furthermore, a field practice session was held at the farmer group leader's house. The results showed a significant improvement in the Jaya Bersama Farmer Group's understanding and skills related to coffee breeding using the cuttings method and onion extract application. They were able to apply these techniques well, producing high-quality coffee seedlings that have the potential to increase the productivity and income of the farmer group as a whole. Thus, this service successfully empowered the farmer group through innovation in their farming practices.

Abstract

Biji ketapang menjadi salah satu bahan alam alternatif dalam membuat produk tradisional berjenis makanan ringan, yang mana karena hasilnya berupa makanan ringan, diharapkan produk ini mudah diterima dan banyak diminati oleh semua kalangan masyarakat, khususnya MAN 2 Kota Bengkulu. Selaras dengan tujuan dari PROMKES ini, dimana bertujuan untuk mendalami dan merinci potensi dan manfaat kesehatan rempeyek/peyek dengan topping biji ketapang. Biji ketapang, dikenal sebagai sumber daya alam yang melimpah di berbagai wilayah tropis, menarik perhatian sebagai bahan dengan kandungan nutrisi yang beragam dan potensial kesehatan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini melibatkan langkah-langkah analitis yang komprehensif, dimulai dengan karakterisasi nutrisi biji ketapang. Analisis melibatkan identifikasi dan pengukuran kandungan nutrisi seperti protein, lemak, serat, dan berbagai senyawa bioaktif lainnya yang dapat berkontribusi pada nilai kesehatan biji ketapang. Analisis sensori akan mencakup parameter seperti rasa, aroma, tekstur, dan tampilan visual. Seiring itu, aspek kesehatan akan dinilai melalui analisis nutrisi produk akhir dan potensi dampaknya pada kesehatan konsumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini merupakan implikasi potensial mencakup pengembangan peyek ketapang sebagai camilan sehat dengan nutrisi tambahan yang dapat meningkatkan nilai gizinya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini akan memperkaya literatur ilmiah terkait pemanfaatan biji ketapang dalam industri pangan dan memberikan kontribusi pada promosi produk lokal yang bernilai kesehatan. Metode promosi kesehatan yang kami terapkan adalah empowerment atau pemberdayaan, yaitu suatu metode yang memberdayakan masyarakat dengan memberikan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sumber daya untuk meningkatkan kemandirian. Hasil dari Promkes ini adalah sebagian besar responden memberikan respon positif atas kegiatan tersebut, hal ini dikarenakan bekal pengetahuan dari responden dan keberhasilan kami dalam proses promosi.

Abstract

Old age is a natural process that everyone experiences and cannot be avoided. With the success of national development, especially in the health sector, which can be seen from the reduction in infant mortality and birth rates as well as improvements in public nutrition, the positive impact is an increase in life expectancy at birth in Indonesia, namely around 70 years. in 2000. In 2000, by 2020, it is estimated by the USA-Bureau of the Census that the number of elderly people in Indonesia will be around ± 29 million people. This is an illustration for all countries that thanks to advances in science and technology as well as advances in socio-economic conditions, life expectancy is increasing. Along with the success of improving the health status of the Indonesian people which has an impact on increasing life expectancy, this will have its own impact on the nation, state and on the welfare and health problems of the elderly themselves. Judging from the description above, special services are needed for the elderly in the areas of health, socio-economic, psychological, welfare and even spiritual, so there is a need to improve the health status and quality of life of the elderly. achieve a happy, prosperous and beneficial old age for family and community life in accordance with its existence in society
