Abstract

This study aims to perform a thorough analysis of the connection between leadership and the effectiveness of safety management systems (SMS) in aviation. The analysis examines how different leadership philosophies, such as paternalistic and transformational approaches, affect SMS deployment and safety culture in airport, airline, and air traffic control settings. Twenty-one pertinent papers from national and international sources, published between 2019 and 2025, were selected using a systematic literature review (SLR) procedure based on the PRISMA methodology. The results show that implementing SMS principles requires strong leadership behavior. Although contextual leadership approaches, such as paternalistic leadership in air traffic control, also have a positive influence, transformational leadership is the most effective at enhancing safety outcomes. The evaluation highlights the significance of human-centered leadership for successful implementation and identifies a significant gap in the combination of technology-based safety enhancements and leadership. This study offers a conceptual framework that views leadership as a vital facilitator of aviation safety, providing guidance to academics and industry professionals looking to enhance safety performance through leadership practices.

Abstract

This study explored the impact of misinformation on public opinion regarding stories and information on social media, focusing on factors that influence users' perception and engagement. The primary emphasis is on explaining the impact of deception in shaping media outlets' credibility and how deception constructs narratives within society. The study employed the Theory of Rumor Transmission and the Technological Determinism Theory, which explain news diffusion patterns in the online environment and the influence of technology on communication practices. A qualitative research design was adopted. Findings revealed that the consumption of fake news is strongly linked to increased mistrust of traditional media, leading individuals to seek alternative, largely unverified sources. Additionally, the propagation of misinformation is autocatalytic in echo chambers, contributing to heightened polarization of individuals' views. The study concludes that preventing issues arising from fake news is crucial to fostering an educated citizenry. In light of these findings, it is recommended that social media platforms implement strict fact-checking mechanisms, integrate media literacy into school curricula, and establish governance frameworks that hold platforms accountable for the dissemination of disinformation while safeguarding freedom of speech.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of service quality and brand image on patient loyalty, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable at X Hospital, East Bekasi, Indonesia. A quantitative survey was conducted using an online questionnaire distributed to 154 respondents who had received services at the hospital more than twice and were aged 17 years or older. Data were analyzed using Smart PLS 3. The results show that service quality and brand image significantly influence patient satisfaction, which, in turn, has a strong effect on patient loyalty. Both service quality and brand image also directly influence patient loyalty, with service quality identified as the strongest contributor, followed by brand image. Furthermore, patient satisfaction mediates the relationship between the independent variables and loyalty, confirming its critical role in shaping patient behavior. The study concludes that delivering high service quality and maintaining a positive brand image are essential strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty. Limitations of this study include its relatively small sample size and focus on a single hospital, restricting generalizability. Theoretically, the study contributes to the literature on patient loyalty by emphasizing the mediating role of satisfaction. Practically, it provides insights for hospital management to prioritize service improvements and strengthen brand perception. Future research is recommended to expand the sample across multiple hospitals and to explore additional mediating variables such as corporate reputation, perceived value, and revisit intention to provide a more comprehensive understanding of loyalty drivers.

Abstract

High number for water demand in Bali always increasing while the ability is limited in environment. this condition influence by land conversion, pollution, and climate change impact. This condition has led to a projection that Bali will experience a clean water shortage starting in 2025. This study aims to map and analyze the index of water supply ecosystem services in Bali Province as an effort to maintain environmental carrying capacity. The research method used is ecosystem service mapping with an ecosystem service index calculation based on land cover and geomorphology proxies. Data were obtained from an assessment by seven experts using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and pairwise comparison methods. Secondary data, in the form of land cover and geomorphology maps of Bali from 2018 and 2024, were used as the main spatial data. The results show that land use change has a significant impact on the water supply ecosystem service index in Bali. The ecosystem service index for land cover in Bali is categorized as low, while the ecosystem service index for geomorphology (original landforms) is categorized as moderate. Further analysis indicates that the area of rice fields and primary dry land forests has decreased from 2018 to 2024. Meanwhile, volcanic land, which dominates the Bali region, has a moderate capacity for water supply. The conclusion of this study is that the water supply ecosystem service index in Bali Province still needs to be improved.

Abstract

This research explores the transformation of local cultural values through Islamic education within the indigenous community of Kasepuhan Gelar Alam, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. Amidst globalization and modernization, local wisdom traditions such as gotong royong (mutual cooperation), musyawarah (deliberation), and sopan santun (courtesy) face erosion. Nevertheless, this community has successfully preserved these values by integrating them harmoniously with Islamic teachings for more than seven centuries. Employing an ethnographic qualitative approach, this study gathered data through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving traditional leaders, religious figures, and local residents. The analysis was conducted inductively, exploring meanings, processes, and sociocultural interactions in daily life. The results show that the transformation of local cultural values occurs through the integration of Islamic teachings into communal practices and informal education. Traditional and religious leaders act as the main agents in transmitting and contextualizing these values. Supporting factors include the congruence between Islamic and customary values and community awareness, while challenges arise from generational gaps, limited formal education, and conservative resistance. The impact is the emergence of a distinctive form of local Islamic identity, religious behavior rooted in cultural ethics, and youth participation in sustaining ancestral traditions. This study highlights the strategic role of Islamic education in cultural preservation and moral formation in indigenous communities

Abstract

Underground water intake pipelines play a critical role in supporting the operational reliability of the IPP Sumsel-5 facility, including reuse water, service water, and fire protection systems. These pipelines supply essential resources such as boiler feedwater, steam support, and fire safety, making their integrity vital for continuous plant operations. However, prolonged underground service exposes them to severe corrosion risks that may lead to leaks, water loss, reduced system performance, and potential equipment damage. This study aims to analyze and implement an effective corrosion prevention strategy using Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) technology to enhance pipeline lifespan and operational safety. A field-based engineering assessment was conducted involving soil resistivity measurement, pipeline potential testing, corrosion rate evaluation, and system modeling to identify the extent of corrosion threats. The ICCP design framework included anode bed configuration, current output determination, rectifier sizing, and protection potential optimization suited to site-specific soil characteristics. Data collection and analysis were performed through on-site inspection, electrochemical measurement, and simulation-based verification. The results show that the application of ICCP significantly improved the protection potential of the pipelines, maintaining the recommended - 850 mV (Cu/CuSO4) criterion and reducing corrosion progression to a negligible rate. The optimized ICCP system demonstrated stable current distribution, extended pipeline service life, and reduced maintenance risks. Overall, this study confirms that ICCP technology provides a reliable and effective solution for mitigating underground pipeline corrosion at IPP Sumsel-5 and can be adopted as a long-term corrosion management strategy.
