Abstract

Burnout syndrome is characterised by chronic physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged academic stress, manifested in emotional fatigue, cynicism, and decreased academic efficacy. This study aims to analyse the prevalence and risk factors of burnout syndrome among preclinical medical students at Universitas YARSI. The study employed a quantitative analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of medical students from cohorts 2023–2025, with a purposive sample of 277 respondents. Data were collected through online questionnaires using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS), School Burnout Inventory (SBI), and BMS-10 to measure burnout levels, alongside internal and external risk factor questionnaires. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate techniques to assess prevalence and the relationships between variables. The results indicated a moderate to high prevalence of burnout among preclinical medical students, with dominant risk factors including academic workload, time management, self-efficacy, and social support. These findings highlight the importance of burnout prevention strategies through resilience enhancement, stress management, and institutional support. This study contributes to the understanding of burnout dynamics in medical education within an Islamic values context and provides a basis for mental health interventions for students.

Abstract

The construction of Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), which involved the conversion of farmland into non-agricultural and industrial land, has led to depeasantization. One of the groups most significantly affected is the peasants in Glagah Village. However, peasants are also actors with agency; they respond to change and struggle for autonomy over agrarian production. The peasants’ struggle for autonomy is referred to as repeasantization. This study aims to identify how peasants in Glagah Village struggle for autonomy and territory, and to explain the processes of depeasantization and repeasantization occurring in Glagah Village. The research was conducted in Glagah Village, and the methods used were non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and literature studies. A total of six informants from four households were involved, consisting of both peasants and ex-peasants. The results show that depeasantization occurs due to the loss of peasant autonomy and territory, characterized by farmland loss, a decrease in the number of peasants, and changes in agrarian dynamics. In response to depeasantization, peasants struggle for autonomy by practicing sharecropping and building solidarity among peasants by lending farmer cards to one another for purchasing fertilizer.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Scrabble Vocabulary Game in improving senior high school students’ English speaking ability, particularly their speaking accuracy. The background of this research lies in the persistent difficulties students face in producing accurate spoken English due to limited vocabulary mastery, grammatical errors, and pronunciation problems. In many classrooms, speaking activities are still dominated by conventional teaching methods that do not actively engage students, resulting in low participation and minimal improvement in oral performance. Therefore, innovative and interactive learning media are needed to address these challenges. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the use of the Scrabble Vocabulary Game significantly improved students’ speaking accuracy and to analyze students’ responses to its implementation. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design involving a pre-test and post-test control group. The sample consisted of 52 eleventh-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught using the Scrabble Vocabulary Game, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through speaking tests and questionnaires and were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results showed that the experimental group achieved greater improvement in speaking scores than the control group, with a significant difference (p < 0.05). The post-test results indicated substantial improvement in vocabulary use, grammar, and pronunciation. In conclusion, the Scrabble Vocabulary Game is an effective instructional medium for enhancing students’ speaking accuracy and increasing their motivation to learn English.

Abstract

The Russia–Ukraine War, which began on February 24, 2022, triggered global economic disruptions and potentially affected the capital markets of G-20 member countries. This study aims to analyze stock market reactions across G-20 countries using an event study method. The research data consist of stock market indices from 19 G-20 economies, observed over a five-day window before and a five-day window after the event. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used for hypothesis testing. The results show that six countries—France, Germany, Italy, Australia, India, and the European Union (EU)—experienced significant negative reactions, while the remaining thirteen countries showed no statistically significant differences. This study concludes that the impact of the war on G-20 capital markets is heterogeneous across markets. Therefore, investors should consider country-specific characteristics when developing international portfolio diversification strategies.

Abstract

The National Health Insurance (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional/JKN) program guarantees the right to healthcare; yet, claims disputes between hospitals and Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Health expose persistent imbalances in their resolution. Despite normative pathways encompassing deliberation, mediation, and litigation, objections to claim verification are resolved internally by BPJS Health, while judicial recourse is rarely pursued even in the presence of substantial pending claims. This study analyses existing dispute resolution mechanisms through rechtsstaat and machtsstaat perspectives and formulates an integrated Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) model to ensure party equality and protect participants' rights. Employing a normative juridical method with statutory, case, conceptual, and comparative approaches alongside empirical searches of the Supreme Court Decision Directory the study draws on rule of law theory and Nonet and Selznick's responsive law theory. The findings indicate that the current mechanism falls short of substantive rechtsstaat standards and reflects machtsstaat residues, as the principle of nemo judex in causa sua is not fully upheld. The proposed integrated ODR model consolidates negotiation, mediation, clinical panel review, and arbitration into a single independent digital platform. Rather than creating new institutional authority, the model unifies mechanisms already recognized under Indonesian law into a more transparent, equitable, and accountable process, thereby restoring party parity and protecting participants' constitutional rights as a realization of substantive rechtsstaat.

Abstract

Service quality in population administration services is an important factor in increasing public satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the quality of e-KTP (Elektronik Kartu Tanda Penduduk) services in the Kelingan Adminduk program of the Cirebon Regency Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil/DISDUKCAPIL). The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis, which involves the processes of data coding, identifying patterns or themes, and interpreting the meaning of each thematic category. The results of this study lead to the conclusion that the e-KTP service in the Kelingan Adminduk program of the Cirebon Regency Population and Civil Registration Agency (DISDUKCAPIL) has been running well but cannot yet be considered of high quality. This can be seen from the existing services in the Kelingan Adminduk program, which are measured using five SERVQUAL dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. However, there are still several challenges in its implementation, such as uncertain e-KTP printing times and inadequate human resources. It can be concluded that, in order to improve service quality, sufficient human resources and stronger planning are needed so that public satisfaction can be increased.

Abstract

Determinants of Firm Value in The Mining Sector: The Role of Profitability, Capital Structure, and Liquidity” This study aims to analyze the effects of profitability, capital structure, and liquidity on firm value in mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. Firm value is proxied by Price-to-Book Value (PBV), profitability is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), capital structure is proxied by Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER), and liquidity is proxied by Current Ratio (CR). This research applies a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the companies’ annual financial statements. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling method based on predetermined criteria, resulting in 11 companies with a total of 55 observations after excluding outliers. The data were analyzed using panel data regression with the assistance of EViews 13. The results show that profitability has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Meanwhile, capital structure and liquidity have no significant effect on firm value. These findings indicate that a company’s ability to generate profits is a more important consideration for investors than its level of debt usage or its ability to meet short-term obligations. Therefore, mining sector companies are expected to improve profitability through effective and efficient asset management in order to increase firm value.

Abstract

The debate on the position of reason and heart as sources of knowledge is one of the important issues in Islamic epistemology that is still relevant today, especially in the midst of the tendency to separate rationality and spirituality in modern scientific discourse. This research aims to analyze the position of reason and heart in the epistemology of al-Ghazali, examine the integration of conceptual knowledge and face-to-face knowledge in the philosophy of Isyraqi Suhrawardi, and formulate an integral epistemological model that is relevant to contemporary Islamic education. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, through descriptive, comparative, and interpretive analysis of al-Ghazali and Suhrawardi's primary works as well as relevant supporting literature. The results of the study show that al-Ghazali places reason as an important instrument for acquiring rational knowledge, while the purified heart becomes a means of receiving higher knowledge through kasyf, dhawq, and ma'rifat. Meanwhile, Suhrawardi developed the philosophy of Isyraqi by integrating 'ilm husuli and 'ilm hudhuri into one complete system of knowledge. The synthesis of the thoughts of the two figures produces an integral epistemological model that balances the power of reason and depth of heart. This model offers a relevant epistemological alternative to developing an Islamic education that is not only oriented to intellectual intelligence, but also to character formation and spiritual maturity.

Abstract
