Abstract

The use of technology in learning English-reading  skills has grown rapidly. One such technology is the computer-aided learning media. The use of computer media in the field of education has many advantages as they are easier to access, disseminate and store. The aim of present study is to investigate the impact of computer assisted language learning (CALL) technology on Indonesian learners' reading skills. This study applied quantitative research. The results of study found that the use of information technology in learning is marked by the interaction between students and materials through internet technology, the existence of programmed teaching, and flexibility in the process for learning both in terms of time and place.  It can be concluded that it is very possible for us to be easily literate through various media; with this we can improve the quality of reading.

Abstract

Menggunakan media membutuhkan penerimaan baik keuntungan maupun kerugiannya. Diharapkan manfaat dari pengguna media akan meningkatkan pengetahuan penggunaan media. Di sisi lain, kelemahan penggunaan media diharapkan dapat dikurangi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan Google classroom sebagai media teknologi pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa untuk English for specific purpose (ESP). Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) merupakan teknik yang digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media Google Classroom bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran ESP. Keuntungan menggunakan media ini dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Ini memiliki batasan waktu yang fleksibel, selalu dapat diakses, dan menggunakan metodologi pembelajaran yang lebih mutakhir (berbasis e-learning). Meskipun ada keuntungan tertentu menggunakan media Google, ada juga beberapa kekurangannya. Mahasiswa harus online, harus punya akun Google, dan ada pemborosan penggunaan dana internet. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Google Classroom lebih menarik dan nyaman digunakan dimanapun siswa berada khususnya mahasiswa Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Kristen Paulus Makassar.

Abstract

Kinerja guru adalah suatu kondisi yang menunjukkan kemampuan guru dalam menjalankan tugas dan tanggungjawabnya di sekolah selama melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran dan dapat memberikan dorongan serta pengaruh kepada peserta didik agar tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai dan berjalan dengan baik Kinerja guru dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Adakalanya faktor tersebut bisa berasal dari diri sendiri berupa masih rendahnya motivasi kerja, pengetahuan, dan wawasan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis Strategi Peningkatan Kinerja Guru Dalam Meningkatkan Kepuasan Kerja Guru Di SD Islam As Sakinah Pamulang Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskripsi. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawanca, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Analisi data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa strategi tersebut berdampak kepuasan kerja pada pendidik di SD Islam As Sakinah Pamulang yaitu memotivasi bagaimana pendidik mengajar, bagaimana menguasai materi, metode, dan kerja sama yang baik sesama pendidik hal itu yang benar benar menunjang bagi guru untuk mencapai kapuasan kinerjanya. Adapun dari ekternal yang mempengaruhi kepuasan kerja guru di SD Islam As Sakinah Pamulang yaitu kerjasama yang baik, saling mengisi satu sama lain dan hubungan sosial yang baik antara kepala sekolah, pendidik dan wali murid.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh dari ekstrakurikuler pramuka terhadap bakat siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SD Negeri Krebet kelas V tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan jumlah siswa 30, yang terdiri dari laki-laki 14 orang dan perempuan 16 orang. Terdapat dua variabel dalam penelitian ini, yaitu ekstrakurikuler pramuka sebagai variabel (X) dan Bakat siswa sebagai variabel (Y). Uji prasyarat analisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji linieritas sedangkan untuk uji hipotesis menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil perhitungan dari penelitian diketahui nilai signifikasi (Sig.) sebesar 0,584, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh ekstrakurikuler pramuka terhadap bakat siswa. Jadi kesimpulannya adalah H0 ditolak sedangkan Ha diterima.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis outing class terhadap pembendaharaan kosa kata bahasa Indonesia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Pre-eksperimental Design  (Nondesigns). Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah “One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design”. Desain ini melakukan dua kali pengukuran terhadap pemahaman kosakata. Sampel pada penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 9 Sumanga yang berjumlah 24 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, lembar wawancara, dan lembar tes hasil belajar. Teknik pengumpalan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, tes dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hal tersebut dapat dibuktikan dengan uji normalitas yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah data yang diteliti berasal dari populasi terdistribusi normal atau tidak. Berdasarkan analisis statistik deskriptif dengan menggunakan program SPSS versi 25 diperoleh nilai pretest dengan nilai terendah dan tertinggi yaitu 45 dan 75. Nilai rata-rata yaitu 61.46 dengan kategori sedang. Kemudian, setelah diberikan treatment maka diperoleh nilai posttest dengan nilai terendah yaitu 70 dan nilai tertinggi 95. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest lebih tinggi dan kategori meningkat dibanding pretest. Dengan kata lain hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas V lebih baik setelah diadakannya treatment dibandingkan sebelum diadakan treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Google Classroom as a medium for learning English on class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Bajeng. The research method used is a quantitative method with a Quasi Experimental Design research design which consists of two classes, namely the experimental class using Google Classroom and the control class using conventional methods. The sample of this study was the seventh grade students consisting of 29 students for the experimental class and 29 students for the control class. Data collection techniques in this study used pre-test and post-test. The results of this study indicate that the post-test experimental class has a mean value of 87.41 and the post-test control class has a mean value of 76.03. The results of the data analyzed using the independent sample t-test, show that Sig.(2-tailed) is 0.003 lower than 0.05 so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected so that there is an effect on students' reading comprehension results after using Google Classroom. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of Google Classroom as an English learning medium has an effect on seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bajeng, especially students' reading comprehension.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian yakni untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai multikultural untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis dan Menjawab Tantangan Abad 21 pada Mata Kuliah Pendidikan Karakter. Penelitian ini dilakukan di STKIP Harapan Bima menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan kepustakaan. Adapun nilai-nilai multikultural yang ditanamkan yakni nilai toleransi, nilai demokratis, saling menghormati dan menghargai, serta nilai kerja sama. Sementara nilai yang menjadi bagian dalam menjawab abad 21, yakni terbuka, adil, fleksibel dan jujur. Penanaman nilai multikultural di STKIP Harapan Bima adalah wujud dari nilai pada kehidupan abad 21, atas dasar nilai tersebut kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat ditingkatkan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa realisasi penanaman nilai multikultural dilakukan melalui pembelajaran di kelas pada mata kuliah pendidikan karakter untuk memperkokoh karakter multikultural peserta didik.

Abstract

Recent developments in India, the National Education Policy 2020, promote using the home language or mother tongue as the medium of instruction until Grade 5 and beyond. This paper explores the attitudes of multilingual teachers in India toward using translanguaging in English language teaching. Forty-five samples were collected, and the researcher measured thirteen translanguaging parameters to assess the attitudes of multilingual teachers. Using the VADER method, the researcher converted the translanguaging corpus and identified positive, negative, neutral, and compound sentiment scores. The results showed that most respondents had a neutral sentiment toward translanguaging. The researcher used a heat map to visualize the data, producing four clusters labeled Positive, Neutral, Negative, and Compound Sentiments of translanguaging. It can be concluded that adopting translanguaging might help create a more inclusive and powerful educational environment in multilingual countries like India because language ideologies influence how people perceive linguistic skills and practices.

Abstract

        As University graduates must be able to speak English well. So they are ready when they are faced with the real life and work. So are the graduates of Bina Sarana Informatika University students, they have to gain the language competence especially speaking ability. The aim of the research was to know if the dialogue techniques are effective and appropriate for the university students. The result of the research showed that; 1). Most students got enormous advantages in improving students speaking skill as well as overcoming the speaking difficulties. The improvement covers grammar knowledge, intonation and pronunciation, vocabulary mastery, fluency and naturalness in speaking, and speaking attitude. 2). The students did not feel bored.  All students took part actively in the task. It means that students like doing the task. In other words, dialogue technique is one of many good techniques of teaching speaking. 3) During the semester students showed their positive responses to the implementation of the dialogue technique.  It can be concluded that the dialogue technique presented in the right way will bring about a good response from the students. In the implementation, the students are happy doing the activity and they are eager to practice speaking. Based on the research result and theoretical review, the writer suggested that dialogue technique is worth to be used for university students especially for conversation subject.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the students’ interest level of learning listening by using Note-Taking Strategy. This research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this research was 208 students, and the sample of it was 30 students. The finding of research is there were 11 students or 36.67% who chose Very High option, in which 19 students with the percentage of 63.33 were in the High Option. The total score of students is 2534 with the mean score of students’ interest of using Note-Taking Strategy in learning listening is 84.47. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the students are interested in learning listening through Note-Taking Strategy, in the other words, the students are in the high level of interest.
