Abstract

Class Pelecypoda or Bivalves include clams, oysters, mussels and the like. Basically Pelecypoda has a unidirectional shell and a mantle in the form of two bilaterally symmetrical auricles or lobes. Clams do not have a radula like gastropods and do not have a distinct head or tentacles. Blood clam (Anadara granosa) is a type of clam that belongs to the Pelecypoda class. This research aims to identify tool specifications, catch yields, selectivity and productivity of scallop fishing gear operated in the waters of Cirebon Regency, West Java. The research was carried out in April-June 2022 in Gunungjati District. Measurement of fishing gear was carried out along the fishing village of Bondet Coastal Fishery Port (PPP) Cirebon Regency. The method used is a case study method with quantitative descriptive analysis to determine the specifications of the tools and catches taken by interviewing fishermen. The research results show that clam shells are included in the dredge gear category. The components consist of a body mouth, garok, frames, nets, and ropes of various sizes. The constituent materials used are iron and stainless steel, weighing up to 50 kg. The main catch of garok clams in Cirebon Regency consists of blood clams (Anadara granosa.) and by-catch in the form of several demersal fish, comprising 7 species. This tool is classified as non-selective because of its construction which has a net with a small mesh size (2-5 inches), so that this tool catches many species with different sizes of bycatch of 74.76%. The productivity of garok sea cucumbers is carried out using the swept area method, with an average catchment area of 0.0242 km2 and a catch rate of 15.058 kg/hour.

Abstract

Handline is a fishing gear that is selective about the catch and is a fishing gear that is passive or in the process of catching it there is a waiting period. The waiting period for the handline is the time when the bait is waiting for the fish to eat it. The depth of the hook on KM Viona III varies. The depth is divided into 2 groups between 45-60 m and 67.5-82.5 m. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an effect of differences in hook depth on catches by paired sample test t-test using SPSS 24. Based on the Wilcoxon test, non-parametric test hook depth test for total catches presented by SPSS 24 with asymp values .sig of 0.041. Because 0.041 < 0.05 means that there is a difference in catches based on the number of fish and it can be concluded that there is also an effect of hook depth on the number of catches, and the weight of the catch has a value of 0.023. Because the value is 0.023 <0.05, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there are differences in the weight of the catch at different depths and it can be concluded that there is also an effect of the depth of the hook on the weight of the catch. which was carried out at the Cilacap Ocean Fishing Port and participated in a 32-day arrest operation at KM Viona III.

Abstract

The importance of the fisheries sector for East Java Province can be seen from the high capture fisheries production compared to other provinces di Indonesia. In 2021, East Java Province is listed as the province with the highest capture fisheries production in Indonesia. This is suspected to be affected by several factors i.e the numberi of fishermen, fishing vessels, and fishing ports, so analysis is needed to determinei the effect of these factors on capture fisheries in East Java. The aim of this studyi was to determine the effect of the amount of fishermen, fishing boats, and fishing ports on capture fisheries production in East Java. The research methodi used in this research iis descriptive using secondary data. The data analysis used is multiplei linear regression, F-test, and T-test. Based on the results, the multiple linear regression analysis were obtained by the equation y = 292.543,118 + 0,381 X1-0,722 X2 + 2.838,450 X3 with an adjusted R2 value of 72,7 %. The F test shows a isignificance <0,05, which meansi that the total number of fishermen, fishing boats, and fishing ports have a significant effecti simultaneously on capture fisheries production in East Java. The T-test shows that the numberi of fishing ports has a partially significant effect on marine capture fisheries production in East Java Province (sig. <0,05). Meanwhile, the number ofi fishermen and fishingi boats showed no partially significant effect oni capture fisheriesi production in East Java Province (sig. > 0,05).

Abstract

Contact plate freezer (CPF) is a cooling machine unit for freezing products which of course will maintain product freshness. In Order to runs smoothly, one thing that must be considered of the cooling system is the cooling load on the freezer contact plate. The cooling load is the amount of heat absorbed per unit time. The refrigeration cycle at PT. Trimitra Makmur uses a combined refrigeration cycle (multi-stage cycle), uses two cycles of vapor compression using two single-stage compressors. The two compressors used have the same power of 55.92 kW. The cooling load on the contact plate freezer consists of product heat load, water heat load, internal heat load, and transmission heat load. In The contact plate freezer, infiltration or heat load from the outside air are not counted because during production the contact plate freezer door is closed tightly so that the air exchange value is very small and can be neglected. In this study, the average total load on contact plate freezer 1 was 23.07079 kW, so that the average total load on the three contact plate freezers at PT. Trimitra Makmur is 69.21237 kW. The results of data collection and calculations show that the COP (Coefficient of Performance) value for the high-stage cycle is 4.33, so that the high-stage compressor power used is 1/4.33 of the cooling capacity of the contact plate freezer. Whereas in the booster cycle, a COP of 6.49 was obtained, so that the booster compressor power used was 1/6.49 of the cooling capacity of the contact plate freezer.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate environmental parameters and phytoplankton quality as well as the implications for the food safety of seafood-consuming coastal communities. The study was conducted in coastal waters of South Sulawesi, Indonesia at four sites (three stations/site): Pangkep (PK), Kuri (KR), Maros (MR), and Tallo (TL) during June, August, and October 2020. Observations formed three spatial clusters: MR1, PK; MR2, MR3, TL; KR (92.5 % similarity), and two temporal clusters: June 2020; August and October 2020 (87.9 % similarity). PCA showed parameters most strongly characterizing TL, KR, and MR (except MR1) were high levels of salinity, nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, silicate, temperature, pH, and abundance of both phytoplankton that can form harmful algal blooms (HABs) and non-HAB forming phytoplankton (non-HABs), with low current velocity. PK was characterized by high current velocity, non-HABs, orthophosphate, ammonium, nitrite, and turbidity with low nitrate and HABs. Main characterizing parameters in the temporal PCA were high current velocity and HABs with low orthophosphate in June 2020; high nitrate, ammonium, orthophosphate, and non-HABs with even lower HABs in August 2020; high turbidity, temperature, and salinity with low pH, nitrite, silicate, and HABs in October 2020. Current velocity (low at TL, KR, MR and high at PK) influenced both non-HABs and HABs. The results indicate that faster currents may have impeded HABs development so that the phytoplankton quality was still good. Therefore, the fish from these waters can be considered safe for human consumption, thereby contributing to maintaining the health of coastal communities.
