Abstract

4D BIM can be utilized as a visual communication media that simulates construction process, including infrastructure projects, to all stakeholders. One of its benefits is to enhance communication quality that can positively affect infrastructure construction time planning phase, which was one of the most important aspect in contractor’s business process. This research used qualitative method through interviews and expert validation to identify main activities in construction time planning phase, 4D BIM role in those activities, and involved stakeholders. As a result, 4D BIM based construction time planning strategy in the form of standard operating procedure and communication flow was developed to be used as guideline references for BIM implementation in Indonesia.

Abstract

One upstream and two downstream firms are involved in a vertically related industry. Under observable contracts, firms are aware of both their own and their rival's input prices. However, under an unobservable contract, firms only know their own input price and are unaware of their rival’s input price. We demonstrate both vertical separation and vertical integration in the two contracts. We focus on two methods: linear tariffs and two-part tariffs. With linear tariffs and asymmetric costs under both observable contracts and unobservable contracts, vertical integration increases consumer surplus and social welfare. With separation linear tariffs and asymmetric costs, consumer surplus (social welfare) is lower (higher) under observable contracts than under unobservable contracts. With two-part tariffs, vertical integration does not affect (decreases) both consumer surplus and social welfare under observable contracts (under unobservable contracts). Under separation two-part tariffs, consumer surplus and social welfare are lower under observable two-part tariffs than under unobservable ones. Keywords: Observable Contracts, Unobservable Contracts, Duopolistic Competition

Abstract

Operations Research is a quantitative decision–making course, which is formed in a mathematical model by allocating limited resources, so that the goal is optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine students’ perceptions of Operations Research learning during the covid–19 pandemic in order to apply the Realistic Mathematics Educations approach in developing Operations Research teaching materials. The research method was conducted by questionnaire with the number of respondents as many as 91 college students. The results showed that the students’ perceptions of Operations Research learning with indicators of feeling of pleasure, feeling of interest, general impact, and motivation, were in the high category with percentages of 42,86%, 62,64%, 42,86%, and 51,65%. Based on the results of the study, this can increase resources, both qualified lecturers and students and the realization of quality higher education to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, educated, and skilled. Thus, there are several factors that must be improved, such as the availability of facilities, lecturers, learning materials presented using video as an application of the model in the real life, and field studies.

Abstract

Corporate hedging is basically an effort of the companies to protect their values which has an impact on the shareholders’ welfare. This study aims at examining and analyzing the variable bankruptcy of the companies and their effects on Islamic corporate hedging conducted by Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. The bankruptcy variable in this study uses the Grover G Score model represented by the variable ratio: (1) net working capital to total assets, (2) earnings before interest and tax to total assets and (3) return on assets (ROA), while the corporate hedging is meassured by utilizing dummy variables. The finding of logistical regresion analysis reveals that all variables used in bankruptcy assessment had a significant influence on corporate hedging decisions.

Abstract

One of the teacher's strategies in overcoming students' lack of vocabulary mastery is by using Picture Media (Visualmedient). And this is what will be studied in this study by limiting the use of picture media to the vocabulary mastery of German students at Senior high school 1 Tondano in Minahasa. This study aims to obtain an overview of the benefits of picture media amid the increasingly digital modernization of science in the Millennial era and the impact of the success of learning German vocabulary. The research method used in this study is descriptive experiment and documentation. Based on the analysis obtained from the results of this study, it is proven that there is a positive influence on the use of picture media in teaching German vocabulary for students of senior high school 1 Tondano. Recognizing new vocabulary in German. This means that the pictures shown or displayed by the teacher will help accelerate students' recognition of German. After direct observation and demonstration of pictures, there is a significant difference between those who use pictures and those who do not use pictures as media. Students who learn vocabulary using pictures will have better results than students who do not use pictures. This is obtained through the final test of the lesson. The use of picture media in teaching German, in particular, learning vocabulary, has a very strong and positive effect on learning outcomes in German. Even though the digital millennial era is more dominant in using electronics, picture media is still needed in teaching German vocabulary. The vocabulary that is accompanied by pictures will make students remember the vocabulary because of the help of pictures.

Abstract

The challenge of lecturers in improving competency and competition is one of the references in the development of higher education institutions. Lecturers become one of the elements of success in achieving the vision and mission of universities or colleges. So that in order to achieve the target or goal, it is supported by achieving good lecturer performance. In this study, we will discuss how the relationship of improving the quality of performance and motivation of all levels in achieving a superior university through. University performance can be influenced by work motivation, workload and work rules. In order to achieve the most effective performance, special attention is needed for the performance of lecturers as the primary implementers of the education process in higher education. The purpose of this study was to analyse the positive direct effect of work motivation, workload and work rules on the performance of lecturers in universities. The object of this study took data at the University of X. Where in this study the analysis carried out on the performance of the lecturer with this variable showed the direct work motivation results on the performance of the lecturer. Other variables can also be seen from the organisation's work and workload in the organisation, if appropriately needed, it will produce good competence and quality of service from the three things needed by associations, research and community service in higher education.

Abstract

The “objective of this study is to investigate the effect of profitability on firm value with intellectual capital as an intervening variable in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population are manufacturing companies that have published Corporate Governance Reports until 2018. However, some companies do not publish regularly during the observation period from 2012 to 2018. This study uses population requirements, companies do not issue Corporate Governance Reports for a maximum of 1 year. In order to obtain a population of 14 companies, all of which were used as research samples (saturated samples) with 98 observations. The analysis method used path analysis. The results demonstrated that profitability has a direct effect on firm value and profitability has an indirect effect on firm value. Intellectual capital acts as a mediating variable in this relationship. The increase in intellectual capital has an impact on increasing the value of the company. In addition, profitability can improve company performance and corporate image internally and externally, thereby increasing investor confidence, and companies have the opportunity to increase intellectual capital. The increase in intellectual capital has an impact on increasing the value of the” company. Keywords: Profitability, Intellectual Capital, Firm Value

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in consumer engagement to Instagram content of tourist destinations when the content uses different types of visual aesthetics and message orientation. A content analysis of 1158 Instagram content posted by official accounts of Indonesia priority tourist destinations was conducted. This study finds that when content with classical aesthetics gained stronger consumer engagement than the one with expressive aesthetics, however content using different types of message orientation does not result in different level of consumer engagement. Interaction effects suggest that content using a combination of classical aesthetics and interaction orientation gets better consumer engagement than any other combinations of aesthetics and orientation. Meanwhile, content using expressive aesthetics and self-orientation gains the least consumer engagement than any other combinations of aesthetics and orientation. These findings indicate that visual elements of an Instagram content tend to be more powerful to elicit consumer responses than verbal elements of the content. This is expected to offer important contributions to destination marketers and social media administrators to pay more attention to visual elements than to verbal aspects of the content when designing social media information.
