Abstract

The election of a Wali Nagari is a form of local democratic practice that provides opportunities for the community to choose leaders based on the aspirations and needs of the nagari. However, in practice, political behavior is influenced not only by rational considerations but also by social and cultural factors that develop within the community, one of which is ethnic solidarity. This study aims to describe the forms of ethnic solidarity and analyze the factors influencing ethnic solidarity in the Wali Nagari Election in Nagari Siguntur Tua, Koto XI Tarusan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The informants consisted of traditional leaders, community leaders, election committee members, and community members involved in the Wali Nagari election process. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that ethnic solidarity in the Wali Nagari election is reflected in four main aspects: collective consciousness, a sense of togetherness, cooperation, and trust. Furthermore, the factors influencing ethnic solidarity include pride in one's ethnic group, group solidarity, and self-identification as a member of a particular ethnic group. The study concludes that ethnic ties continue to play a significant role in shaping community political behavior and strengthening social bonds within the society of Nagari Siguntur Tua.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Scout extracurricular activities in developing students’ disciplinary character at SMAN 2 Mataram and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. Discipline is an important character value that shapes responsibility, rule compliance, and orderliness in daily life. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Scout coaches, vice principal of student affairs, and students as informants. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Scout extracurricular activities are implemented systematically through routine training, marching exercises, ceremonies, and camping activities. These activities contribute to developing discipline through punctuality, rule compliance, responsibility, and teamwork. Supporting factors include student enthusiasm, school support, and coach competence, while inhibiting factors include uneven motivation and scheduling conflicts. Thus, Scout activities are effective in developing students’ disciplinary character.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of Pancasila Education teachers in fostering environmental care character among students and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. The study is motivated by the low level of students’ environmental awareness in maintaining school cleanliness and sustainability. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SMAS Al-Hamzar Tembeng Putik. The research subjects consist of Pancasila Education teachers, the principal, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers’ efforts are carried out through three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, environmental care values are integrated into lesson plans and school programs. In the implementation stage, strategies include habituation, teacher role modeling, and students’ involvement in practical environmental activities. Meanwhile, evaluation is conducted through behavioral observation, although it has not yet been fully structured.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Project Citizen learning model on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Wanasaba in the subject of Pancasila Education. This research was motivated by students’ low learning outcomes and their limited active participation in the learning process. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of 203 students, with a sample of 30 students. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using an independent samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thus, the Project Citizen learning model has a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes and can serve as an effective alternative learning approach.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dominance of the behaviorist approach in the implementation of the Islamic Education curriculum, identify the impacts of the imbalance in the application of learning theories on the quality of learning, and formulate strategies for integrating behaviorist, cognitive, constructivist, and humanistic learning theories into Islamic Education curriculum development. The study employed a qualitative approach using a library research design. Data were collected from accredited scientific journals, relevant reference books, and official curriculum documents and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the dominance of behaviorist theory is influenced by the normative characteristics of Islamic Education content, teacher-centered instructional practices, limited pedagogical competence among teachers, and assessment systems that primarily emphasize cognitive achievement. This imbalance has resulted in limited development of students' higher-order thinking skills, active learning engagement, internalization of Islamic values, and intrinsic learning motivation. Therefore, integrating behaviorist, cognitive, constructivist, and humanistic learning theories across all curriculum components is a strategic approach to developing a holistic, contextual, and student-centered Islamic Education curriculum. Such integration is expected to produce graduates who are intellectually competent, spiritually grounded, morally upright, and capable of adapting to the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

School-Based Curriculum Development has become a strategic approach to improving educational quality in response to the challenges of the 21st century, including digital transformation, globalization, and the evolving demands of the workforce. This article aims to examine the concepts, objectives, components, processes, stakeholder roles, challenges, and optimization strategies of school-based curriculum development within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study employs a literature review method by analyzing relevant and recent scholarly articles, journals, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that school-based curriculum development provides educational institutions with the flexibility to design curricula that align with students’ characteristics, local potential, community needs, and advancements in science and technology. The main components of curriculum development include educational objectives, curriculum content, learning processes, and evaluation systems. Its successful implementation is highly dependent on teachers’ professional competence, effective school leadership, and active collaboration among stakeholders, including parents, school committees, communities, government agencies, and industry partners. However, several challenges remain, such as limited human resources, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, technological readiness issues, and insufficient stakeholder coordination. Therefore, strengthening educators’ capacity, developing context-based curricula, integrating digital technology, and conducting continuous evaluation are essential strategies for creating adaptive and innovative curricula that support the development of 21st-century competencies. Ultimately, school-based curriculum development serves as a key instrument for enhancing sustainable educational quality and preparing students to meet future challenges.
