Abstract

Industrial activities have been growing rapidly lately. Increased industrial activity can improve the quality of human life, but behind it there are adverse effects on the environment and human health. There are many harmful heavy metals found in industrial waste. One of them is cadmium metal, which is one of the dangerous heavy metals that if accumulated in the body can threaten human health. Langsat fruit peel waste can be utilized as an adsorbent. Adsorbent is an absorbent substance/material to absorb heavy metal ions. Biomass was characterized using AAS instrument to determine the concentration of Cd2+ metal ion absorption in langsat peel biomass. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the initial concentration of solution on the absorption of Cd2+ metal ions in methanol-modified langsat peel biomass. The results showed that the optimal absorption of Cd2+ metal ions in methanol-modified langsat peel biomass was at a concentration of 400 mg/L with an absorption capacity of 9.387 mg/g.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the width of the C-CuO composite mold on the characteristics of thermoelectric materials. The composite is made from activated carbon mixed with CuO in a ratio of 3 grams of activated carbon: 7 grams of CuO which is then molded with five variations in the width of the mold for the C-CuO composite, namely 1 cm, 1.3 cm, 1.6 cm, 2 cm and 2.5 cm. In testing the electrical conductivity and Seebeck effect on the C-CuO composite, the values were almost the same, in other words the electric current produced was not influenced by the mold width of the C-CuO composite. Meanwhile, on the heat conductivity day value, the mold width has an influence as the applied temperature increases. Where the optimum heat conductivity value is produced in material with a width of 1 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching modules in the form of learning modules at vocational schools in Banda Aceh. This research applies the R&D development model in the field of education in accordance with the 4D model reference which was carried out in FY 2022/2023 even semester. The 4D model steps include steps or stages which include, defining, designing, developing, and disseminating stages. Research data were obtained using a validation sheet in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis used in the form of quantitative descriptive statistics, namely examining data by describing the data collected. The results of this module development research were declared feasible to be used as independent learning media for students, based on the results of the validity of the material experts obtained a final value of V of 0.842 and media experts of 0.909 with valid criteria. Based on the results of the assessment of the validity of the developed module, it can be concluded that the PDTM learning module for class X Machining Engineering developed is suitable for use as an additional learning medium for students.

Abstract

Menstruation is a primary sexual sign that marks the period of puberty for a woman. Sooner or later to start the menstrual cycle is closely related to certain circumstances both physical and psychological states are influenced by the physical state of the woman herself, One of the factors that can interfere with the menstrual cycle is weight. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body weight and the regularity of the menstrual cycle. The research method used is correlational research with a cross sectional design approach. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires with a target sample of 30 respondents. The data was analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results of the study found that there is a relationship between the influence of weight on the menstrual cycle. The conclusion in this study that has been analyzed data tested using chi-square statistics obtained a significant value of x < 0.05 that there is a significant influence between body weight and the menstrual cycle.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the extent to which the process of implementing Curriculum Management, especially the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo, has improved the educational process to be of higher quality and able to adapt to the K13 curriculum; The method used in this research is a qualitative method where a researcher goes directly into the field to interview sources face to face to obtain relevant results; The result of this research is to understand the transition process from the K13 curriculum to the Merdeka curriculum at SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo which requires further efforts to provide support and training to teachers and improve educational facilities and infrastructure at SMA Negeri 1 Taman - Sidoarjo so that it runs optimally. ; The implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo has achieved a fairly good level of success. Teachers are actively involved in developing relevant learning materials and supporting student development. However, despite progress, there are still challenges in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Taman - Sidoarjo, such as a lack of resources, inadequate teacher training, and resistance to change. This requires further efforts to provide support and training to teachers and improve educational facilities and infrastructure. SMA Negeri 1 Taman - Sidoarjo has succeeded in developing a curriculum that is responsive to student needs, including innovative and technology-based learning approaches. This development needs to be adopted by more schools to increase relevance to global and local needs. Carrying out P5 projects with the support of the entire school community is one way to enable students to play an active role in their learning. The independent study program supports comprehensive character and skills development.

Abstract

One of the effective methods in handling the impact of pollution by copper ion is the biosorption method using durian peel powder (Durio Zibethinus L.). The purpose of this research is to determine the optimum absorption conditions and the optimum capacity for absorption of copper metal ions (Cu2+) using the batch method with variations in pH, concentration, stirring speed, contact time, and mass of biosorbent. The results of the research showed that the optimum conditions for the absorption of Cu2+ metal ions were at pH 6, concentration of 220 ppm, stirring speed of 250 rpm, contact time of 90 minutes and mass of biosorbent 0,4 gram was 7,788 mg/g. The adsorption isotherm of Cu2+ metal with durian skin biosorbent (Durio Zibethinus L.) tends to follow the Langmuir isotherm equation with a determinant coefficient (R) of 0,1854. Durian peel powder was characterized by the FTIR instrument, before being activated, after being activated, and after contacting the analyte there were functional groups, namely hydroxyl (O-H), alkene (C=C), carbonyl (C-O), and ether (-COC) groups.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a phenomenon occurring in the Ciluar sub-district related to the parenting styles of working mothers and stay-at-home mothers in shaping the morals of their children. This is due to the lack of proper moral guidance and upbringing for children, resulting in children in this environment exhibiting less-than-desirable moral behavior such as drug addiction, using inappropriate language, defying their parents, neglecting religious practices, engaging in premarital sex, and enjoying unrestricted freedom without parental boundaries. These issues stem from parents not paying enough attention to their children's well-being and failing to provide them with affection and care. The role of mothers is crucial in instilling and developing their children's moral values, as children easily observe and mimic their mothers' actions. This research employs a qualitative methodology, specifically using a phenomenological approach. The aim of this study is to explore the parenting styles of working mothers and stay-at-home mothers in the Ciluar sub-district, along with the challenges they face. Relevant data sources, such as textbooks, journals, scientific magazines, and previous research findings, are utilized for this purpose. The research involves interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings of the research regarding the parenting styles of working mothers and stay-at-home mothers in terms of rule-setting, rewards and punishments, decision-making, teaching discipline, and handling disagreements indicate that they implement both democratic and authoritarian parenting styles. This choice is based on the level of child participation in determining family activities and fostering a stable family life. The authoritarian style involves the mother acting as a dictator towards the child, while the democratic style allows children to participate to some extent in family decisions. The obstacles faced by both groups of mothers in shaping their children's morals include stress management and time management.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the aim of knowing the social studies learning of students in Grade 6 of Depok Pioneer School that has not been achieved, one of which is communication skills. One of the factors for students' lack of communication skills is simply listening to the teacher's explanation, then taking notes and solving practice questions. This can result in students' knowledge and understanding being limited to the information provided by the teacher. So that a learning model is needed that is applied, namely by applying Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). The purpose of this study is to determine whether the application of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) affects communication skills in social studies learning in grade 6 of Depok Pioneer School better than student communication skills using conventional learning in grade 6 of Depok Pioneer School. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. Sampling was carried out using pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study amounted to 24 grade 6 students of Depok Pioneer School. Social studies learning activities use Model-Eliciting Activities for experimental classes, while in control classes social studies learning activities use Conventional learning. Data analysis using an independent sample T-Test test on post-test values of the experimental group and control group results showed changes in communication in social studies learning after using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' mathematical communication skills using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) are better than students' communication skills using conventional learning in Grade 6 of Depok Pioneer School.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country, where 40% of the livelihood of the majority of the population is farming. The factor that makes Indonesia an agricultural country is that apart from its population working in the agricultural sector, Indonesia is also crossed by fertile mountain ranges. In an agricultural country like Indonesia, agriculture makes an important contribution to the economy and fulfills people's basic needs. The increase in population will be proportional to the increase in the number of basic needs available. Survey results from the National Statistics Agency show that in 2022 Indonesia will experience an increase in rice production of 1.25 million tons from the previous year. Along with the increase in agricultural production, a new problem that arises is the large number of agricultural residues that are not used optimally, for example, such as rice husks. On average, every 1 kilogram of rice produced can produce 0.28 kg of rice husks. Rice husks contain a high silica content. Based on research that has been carried out, it was found that the silica content was 98-99.9% silica using the sol gel method.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of electrical engineering students, especially in the cognitive domain, are caused by a lack of student activity in class and being embarrassed to ask questions if the material presented is not understood by students. Based on the results of observations carried out in the Department of Electrical Engineering, it was found that the learning model was more teacher-centred (TCL) so that there were no varied learning models implemented in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a variety of learning models so that they can generate good enthusiasm, cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills in a learning process, so that a Besed Learning learning model can be used as an innovative learning model and train students' ability to solve problems well. in order to improve good learning outcomes and psychomotor skills for 2TEIB electrical engineering class students at universitas negeri padang. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model in digital electronics courses to electrical engineering students at Padang State University. This research uses a quantitative type of research, this research uses a 1 class design using pre-test and post-test to determine the results of the implementation of the problem-based learning model, as well as the population in the research, namely Random Sampling, where the population in the sample that will be studied is class 2TEIB majoring in electrical engineering, For sampling, the probability sampling technique was used.The results of the analysis can be seen from the application of the problem-based learning model which was carried out well, as well as getting the average value of the pretest and posttest results for the 2TEIB class. The results were good, namely the posttest results were higher than the pretest results because after implementing the problem-based learning model good and perfect, the use of the problem-based learning model provides a significant difference as evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing using SPSS version 24, data obtained namely sig (0.001) < 0.05, so that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.
