Abstract

Although learning creativity has received attention in several previous studies, research that specifically examines the effect of group guidance using the mind mapping technique on enhancing students’ learning creativity at the junior high school level remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of group guidance with the mind mapping technique on improving students’ learning creativity. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed, involving eighth-grade students of SMPN 6 Malingping in the 2025/2026 academic year selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a learning creativity scale and analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed an increase in students’ learning creativity after the provision of group guidance services using the mind mapping technique, as indicated by a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. These findings contribute to the development of learning creativity theory and broaden understanding of the effectiveness of innovative guidance and counseling services in school settings. The study concludes that the use of the mind mapping technique in group guidance is important for enhancing students’ learning creativity and recommends that guidance and counseling teachers integrate this technique into service delivery. The implications of this research include theoretical contributions to the literature on learning creativity and practical implications for schools in developing guidance services that are creative and responsive to students’ needs, while also opening opportunities for further exploration of the application of the mind mapping technique at different educational levels and with different variables.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited empirical analysis of how art learning is integrated into the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila/P5) in elementary schools as a strategy for character education within the Merdeka Curriculum. The research aims to describe the integration of art learning into P5 implementation in order to foster key dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile among elementary students. Using a qualitative case study approach, the study involves classroom teachers, art and culture teachers, and fourth- to fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Model Panyambungan in Mandailing Natal Regency, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of project-based art activity documents. The findings indicate that art learning functions as an effective medium for cultivating cooperation, creativity, and critical thinking, as evidenced by activities such as mural drawing, thematic drama, and collaborative music that enhance students’ active participation and creative expression in an enjoyable learning environment. The study concludes that integrating art learning into P5 is highly relevant for shaping Pancasila student character in the digital era and implies the need for systematic teacher training to design more structured, contextual, and character-oriented P5 implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

Although the ability to read the Qur’an is a fundamental competence in Islamic education, studies that specifically examine the influence of the intensity of students’ participation in Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) on improving Qur’anic reading ability at the madrasah ibtidaiyah level remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the intensity of students’ participation in TPA activities, the Qur’anic reading ability of Grade IV students, and the supporting and inhibiting factors for its improvement. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design involving 16 Grade IV students of MI Al-Hasanah selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The findings showed that students with high-intensity participation in TPA experienced improvements in their Qur’anic reading ability, whereas students with low-intensity participation still encountered various difficulties in reading. Supporting factors for improving Qur’anic reading ability included learning interest and parental support, while inhibiting factors comprised digital game addiction and low learning motivation. These findings underscore the pivotal role of TPA in enhancing Qur’anic literacy among madrasah ibtidaiyah students and imply the need for synergy among madrasahs, TPA institutions, and parents to build a sustainable Qur’anic learning environment. The study also opens opportunities for further research using quantitative or mixed-methods approaches to examine the causal relationship between TPA participation intensity and Qur’anic literacy outcomes on a broader scale.

Abstract

The growth of e-commerce has driven significant changes in consumer behavior, particularly in purchase decision-making that increasingly relies on digital information such as online customer reviews and online customer ratings. This study aimed to analyze the influence of online customer reviews and online customer ratings on purchase decisions on the Shopee platform in Semarang City, with e-trust as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, with data collected through questionnaires from 100 respondents who had shopped on Shopee, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with SmartPLS 4 software. The results show that online customer reviews have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions, whereas online customer ratings do not have a significant effect on purchase decisions. In addition, e-trust does not moderate the influence of either online customer reviews or online customer ratings on purchase decisions. These findings indicate that consumers place greater emphasis on the quality of review information than on numerical ratings alone when making purchase decisions. In conclusion, informative and credible reviews play a crucial role in encouraging consumer purchase decisions, with practical implications for sellers and e-commerce platforms to enhance review quality and information transparency in order to strengthen consumer trust and shopping experience.

Abstract

The development of hybrid work systems has provided flexibility for companies but has also generated digital pressure, blurred boundaries between work and personal life, and increased psychological fatigue, all of which contribute to the emergence of quiet quitting, a condition in which employees perform only the minimum required tasks without displaying additional enthusiasm or engagement. This study aimed to identify the factors that cause quiet quitting, analyze the influence of hybrid work systems on the escalation of this behavior, and propose digital mindfulness strategies as a preventive effort. The research employed a literature study method, with the collected sources analyzed thematically to identify patterns and relationships among concepts. The analysis shows that quiet quitting is triggered by high digital pressure, blurred work–life boundaries, burnout, unhealthy organizational culture, lack of managerial support, and an imbalance between workload and rewards. Hybrid work systems amplify these triggering factors by demanding near-constant connectivity and reducing individual control over digital workload. Organizational efforts such as flexibility policies or well-being programs are deemed insufficiently effective because they do not directly address individual habits and self-management. Digital mindfulness, understood as the ability to use technology consciously and purposefully, is identified as an important strategy for managing digital distractions, maintaining focus, and enhancing work engagement, which can be strengthened through clear work policies, boundaries for digital communication, education on attention management, and the establishment of realistic work expectations. Overall, digital mindfulness offers an individually grounded approach that is both promising and effective in preventing quiet quitting in hybrid work environments.

Abstract

Students’ difficulties in understanding the use of punctuation in Indonesian language learning remain an obstacle that hinders the development of their effective writing skills. This study aimed to determine the effect of the drill method on the ability to use punctuation in Indonesian language learning among Grade V students at Alwashliyah Indrapura Private Elementary School. The research instrument consisted of 33 multiple-choice items, which were validated through a trial with 25 students from another school, resulting in 25 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.733, indicating a reliable category. The study employed a pretest–posttest design involving 25 students as the sample. Baseline data were obtained through a pretest, after which the drill method was implemented over several sessions to repeatedly practice the use of various punctuation marks. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ punctuation abilities, with the mean pretest score of 57.68 increasing to 75.76 in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed, while the paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of < 0.001, indicating that the drill method had a significant effect on improving students’ abilities. Indicator-level analysis demonstrated improvement across all types of punctuation tested, thereby confirming that the drill method is effective in enhancing the accuracy and skill in punctuation use. These findings affirm that the drill method can serve as an alternative instructional strategy in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level to optimize students’ mastery of punctuation.

Abstract

The growth of social media–based e-commerce has driven changes in consumer purchasing behavior, particularly through TikTok Shop, which integrates entertainment content, influencers, and marketplace features. However, the high number of users does not always correspond to actual purchasing behavior, creating a gap between purchase intention and purchase behavior. This study aimed to analyze the influence of influencers and marketplace features on purchase behavior, with purchase intention as an intervening variable among TikTok Shop users. A quantitative method with an explanatory research approach was employed, involving 96 respondents selected through purposive sampling based on the criterion of having made at least three purchases via TikTok Shop. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results showed that influencers and marketplace features had a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. In addition, influencers, marketplace features, and purchase intention had a positive and significant effect on purchase behavior, and purchase intention functioned as an intervening variable mediating the influence of influencers and marketplace features on purchase behavior. These findings confirm that increased consumer purchase behavior on TikTok Shop is driven by the effectiveness of influencers and the utilization of marketplace features that can enhance purchase intention and convert it into actual purchases. The implications of this study provide recommendations for business practitioners to optimize digital marketing strategies through collaboration with influencers and the use of live streaming and online customer reviews to increase purchase conversion.

Abstract

Employee retention is a strategic issue in human resource management because it directly affects workforce stability and the smooth operation of company activities. PT. XYZ, a company engaged in vegetable cutting and packaging, faces employee retention problems as reflected in its high Labor Turnover (LTO) rate and employee complaints related to career development, reward systems, and employee relations. This study aimed to identify employee retention problems and analyze the company’s efforts to retain employees at PT. XYZ. A qualitative descriptive approach with a field study design was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews with HR personnel and employees, and analysis of supporting data in the form of Labor Turnover (LTO) figures for the 2022–2024 period and a pre-survey of 20 employees as initial respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively to portray the condition of employee retention and the factors influencing it. The findings show that the average Labor Turnover (LTO) rate at PT. XYZ during 2022–2024 was 11.97%, exceeding the normal threshold for employee turnover. The pre-survey and interview results reveal that the main employee retention problems lie in unclear organizational career opportunities, a reward system perceived as not commensurate with work contributions, and less harmonious employee relations due to miscommunication, which collectively reduce employees’ motivation and commitment to remain with the company. The study concludes that employee retention at PT. XYZ is still suboptimal and requires the strengthening of sustainable retention strategies. The practical implications underscore the importance of clear career development pathways, the implementation of a fair reward system, and improved communication and employee relations to enhance retention and reduce employee turnover rates.

Abstract

The increasingly intense competition in the smartphone industry requires companies to strengthen brand-based marketing strategies to sustain consumer purchase interest, including among university students who use iPhone as a premium product segment. This study aimed to analyze the effect of brand image and brand awareness on purchase decisions for iPhone products, with word of mouth as an intervening variable. A quantitative approach was employed using the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data were collected through questionnaires from 157 iPhone-using students at Universitas Islam Sultan Agung Semarang, selected using purposive sampling. The results show that brand image and brand awareness have a positive and significant effect on word of mouth. In addition, brand image and word of mouth have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions, whereas brand awareness does not have a significant direct effect on purchase decisions but exerts an indirect effect through word of mouth. These findings highlight the important mediating role of word of mouth in strengthening the influence of brand image and brand awareness on purchase decisions. The implications suggest that companies need to reinforce strategies for building a positive brand image and encouraging conducive communication among consumers to enhance purchase decisions for iPhone products in the student segment.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a key factor in improving educational quality and is strongly influenced by internal aspects such as pedagogical competence, professionalism, and work motivation; however, at the junior secondary school level, suboptimal teacher performance is still found, particularly in the learning process. This study aimed to analyze the effects of pedagogical competence and professionalism on teacher performance, with work motivation as a mediating variable, based on students’ perceptions. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed involving students of SMP Walisongo Semarang, with a sample of 102 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression, path analysis, and the Sobel test. The results showed that pedagogical competence and professionalism had a positive effect on teacher performance. In addition, work motivation had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance and was proven to mediate the influence of pedagogical competence and professionalism on teacher performance. These findings indicate that improving teacher performance depends not only on competence and professionalism but also on strengthening work motivation, implying that efforts to develop pedagogical competence and professionalism need to be accompanied by strategies to enhance work motivation in order to support the quality of learning in schools.
