Abstract

The development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has driven significant changes in the competencies required of the workforce, compelling universities to produce graduates who are not only academically strong but also possess comprehensive work readiness relevant to the dynamics of the industrial world. Students’ work readiness is influenced by digital skills, the implementation of project-based learning, and the mastery of soft skills that support adaptability, communication, and problem-solving abilities. This study aimed to analyze the influence of digital skills and project-based learning on students’ work readiness, with soft skills as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed involving 150 final-year students in Central Java selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that digital skills and project-based learning had a positive and significant effect on soft skills. In addition, digital skills, project-based learning, and soft skills also had a positive and significant effect on students’ work readiness. Furthermore, soft skills were found to mediate the influence of digital skills and project-based learning on work readiness. These findings affirm that the integration of project-based learning and the strengthening of digital skills in higher education curricula play a strategic role in enhancing soft skills and graduates’ work readiness to face increasingly competitive labor market conditions.

Abstract

The management of zakat through official institutions is a strategic instrument for improving societal welfare; however, studies that specifically examine the influence of good corporate governance, payment methods, and trust on muzakki decisions at the regency level remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the influence of good corporate governance, payment methods, and trust on muzakki decisions in paying zakat at the Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) of Batang Hari Regency. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design was employed, involving 93 muzakki selected using probability sampling based on Slovin’s formula. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression preceded by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results showed that good corporate governance, payment methods, and trust had a positive and significant effect on muzakki decisions, both partially and simultaneously. These findings deepen the understanding of the roles of sound institutional governance, the availability of convenient and varied payment methods, and institutional trust in shaping zakat payment behavior. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of strengthening management transparency, innovating payment systems, and implementing public trust-building strategies to increase muzakki participation, while also providing a theoretical contribution to zakat management studies and practical recommendations for zakat institutions in enhancing the effectiveness of fund collection.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting national economic growth, including in the halal food sector, which continues to expand in line with increasing consumer awareness; consequently, understanding consumer behavior, particularly the factors influencing purchase intention, has become increasingly important. This study aimed to analyze the influence of attitude toward behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on purchase intention for halal food products using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, in which primary data were collected via questionnaires from 100 consumers of the MSME Virgin Cake & Bakery in Semarang City, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that attitude toward behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control had a positive and significant effect on purchase intention for halal food products. These findings confirm that consumer attitudes, social influences, and perceptions of ease and capability in making purchases play an important role in shaping purchase intention. The practical implications of this study provide guidance for MSME actors in formulating marketing strategies oriented toward strengthening consumers’ positive attitudes, optimizing social support, and enhancing ease of access to halal products in order to reinforce competitiveness and business sustainability.

Abstract

Financial performance is a key indicator of success for banking institutions, particularly in the context of managing profitability, debt structure, and the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). Although numerous studies have highlighted the role of financial performance in sustaining banking competitiveness, empirical research that specifically examines the effects of profitability and debt on financial performance while considering the moderating role of GCG quality in the Indonesian banking sector remains limited. This study aims to analyze the influence of profitability and debt on financial performance and to assess the role of GCG quality as a moderating variable in these relationships for banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the 2010–2023 period. The study employed a quantitative approach using secondary data from financial reports, yielding 266 observations selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS software. The results show that profitability, measured by Return on Assets (ROA), does not have a significant effect on financial performance, which is measured by Return on Equity (ROE), whereas debt, measured by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), has a positive and significant effect on financial performance. In addition, GCG quality, proxied by the presence of the Sharia Supervisory Board (Dewan Pengawas Syariah, DPS), has a positive effect on financial performance and strengthens the relationships between the financial variables and firm performance. These findings underline that appropriate debt management and high-quality GCG implementation are critical factors in enhancing banks’ financial performance. The implications of this study encourage banking management to continuously strengthen corporate governance in order to support long-term improvements in financial performance.

Abstract

Firm value has become a central concern in the finance literature because it reflects the market’s perception of a company’s long-term prospects and performance; however, studies that specifically examine the effects of managerial ownership and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure in the property and real estate sector in Indonesia remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of managerial ownership and CSR disclosure on firm value in Indonesian property and real estate sector companies. A quantitative approach with a causal research design was employed, involving 23 companies selected using purposive sampling for the 2019–2023 period. Data were obtained from annual reports and analyzed using panel data regression with the aid of EViews 12 software. The results show that managerial ownership does not have a significant effect on firm value, whereas CSR disclosure has a positive and significant effect on firm value. These findings support legitimacy theory and enrich the corporate governance literature in the context of the property and real estate sector in Indonesia. The study concludes that CSR disclosure is an important strategy for enhancing firm value, with theoretical implications for the development of finance and governance literature and practical implications for management in formulating sustainability policies oriented toward increasing firm value.

Abstract

In an era of increasingly intense competition in the retail industry, companies are required to enhance the quality of human resource (HR) management in order to sustain business continuity and achieve optimal performance. Although HR performance plays a crucial role in supporting operational success, employee performance achievements are still found to fall short of targets, thereby necessitating an analysis of leadership and knowledge management factors that influence performance improvement. This study aims to analyze the effects of Humanistic Leadership, Strategic Power Leadership, Visionary Leadership, and Knowledge Management on the human resource performance of retail employees in Semarang Regency. A quantitative approach was employed with purposive sampling, involving 100 retail employee respondents. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS version 26. The results show that Humanistic Leadership, Strategic Power Leadership, Visionary Leadership, and Knowledge Management fall within the good to very good categories and have a significant effect on HR performance, with Knowledge Management emerging as the most dominant factor in enhancing work effectiveness. These findings confirm that the application of humanistic, strategic, and visionary leadership styles, accompanied by structured and optimal knowledge management, can improve employee quality and productivity, while also providing a basis for retail management in designing more effective human resource development policies.

Abstract

Spiritual intelligence is an essential dimension of moral and religious development in early childhood that needs to be fostered in balance with intellectual intelligence, although some parents’ perceptions still tend to emphasize children’s intelligence in terms of IQ. This study aims to analyze strategies for developing the spiritual intelligence of young children through the integration of learning and religious activities at TK Prima Sakinah Islamic School in Bekasi City. A qualitative approach with field research was employed, with data collected through nonparticipant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that children’s spiritual intelligence is developed through the integration of religious habituation, worship practices, Islamic-value-based social interaction, narrative activities, simple religious projects, dzikir pagi (morning remembrance), habituation of adab, and the creation of an Islamic learning environment. These integrative strategies have been shown to foster children’s awareness of God, Islamic adab, moral value internalization, and consistent religious behavior in daily life. The study concludes that systematically designed integration of learning and religious activities is effective in developing the spiritual intelligence of young children. The implications underscore the importance of holistic learning designs that continuously integrate pedagogical and spiritual dimensions as theoretical and practical references for Islamic early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

The increasingly intense competition in the instant noodle industry requires companies to optimize marketing strategies capable of building brand image and brand awareness in the minds of consumers, one of which is the use of public figures as brand ambassadors. This study aims to analyze the effect of NCT Dream’s endorsement as a brand ambassador on consumers’ purchase decisions for Lemonilo Instant Noodles, with brand image and brand awareness as mediating variables. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, with data collected through questionnaires from 100 consumers of Lemonilo Instant Noodles in Semarang Regency who had been exposed to NCT Dream’s endorsement, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis with the assistance of SPSS 25. The results show that the brand ambassador has a positive and significant effect on brand image, brand awareness, and purchase decisions, and that all independent variables simultaneously and partially have a significant effect on purchase decisions. Mediation tests further demonstrate that brand image and brand awareness significantly mediate the effect of the brand ambassador on purchase decisions. The study concludes that strengthening the role of NCT Dream as a brand ambassador is effective in shaping positive consumer perceptions and enhancing brand recall, which ultimately drives purchase decisions. The implications underscore the importance of celebrity endorsement strategies that are integrated with efforts to reinforce brand image and brand awareness in order to increase the marketing effectiveness of instant noodle products.

Abstract

Islamic education, particularly the Aqidah-Akhlaq (Creed and Morals) subject, continues to face challenges from conventional teacher-centered approaches that constrain student engagement and limit moral internalization. This study examines the role of teacher human resource management (HRM) in implementing active learning strategies at MI Ma’arif NU Langkap, with the aim of analyzing how HRM processes support pedagogical innovation in Aqidah-Akhlaq and contribute to holistic character formation. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis from purposively selected informants, including teachers, school leaders, and key stakeholders. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model—encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing—with credibility ensured through triangulation of sources and methods. The findings reveal a systematic HRM cycle comprising planning (competency mapping and identification of training needs), development (workshops on active strategies such as discussion, simulation, and peer teaching), implementation (student-centered activities that enhance participation and value application), and evaluation (continuous supervision and feedback). This cycle significantly improved teachers’ pedagogical quality and shifted classroom practice from passive memorization toward experiential engagement that integrates cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions. Active learning in Aqidah-Akhlaq was found to align closely with the profiles envisioned in Profil Pelajar Pancasila, reinforcing values-based competencies. The study concludes that strategic HRM is pivotal for sustaining active learning in Islamic education and recommends ongoing professional development, the use of digital tools for monitoring and evaluation, and policy support to facilitate broader replication in madrasahs. These findings provide theoretical insights into HRM-driven pedagogical reform and practical guidance for strengthening Islamic character education at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level.
