Abstract

Conditions of grade V students of SDN Kubangjati 02 have an impact on the low scores of computer-based national assessments and education report cards. To overcome this problem, a learning model was developed to stimulate students' critical thinking process by using Student Worksheets (LKPD) in differentiated learning through the inquiry learning model. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the LKS device in differentiated learning through the inquiry learning model to improve students' critical thinking processes and abilities. The type of research used is development research. The data collection techniques used are tests, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain tests. The results of the practicality test of the developed LKS student response questionnaire were stated to be practical by students with an average score of 91.4 and were categorized as very good. The output results of "Paired Samples Correlations" obtained a Sig. value. of 0.000 < 0.05, so there is a difference in the average learning outcomes of the pretest and posttest, which means that the use of student worksheets with inquiry in differentiated learning can improve the critical thinking process of elementary school students. Conclusion: (1) Student worksheets with the inquiry learning model have been proven to be able to build student enthusiasm in differentiation learning, (2) Student worksheets with the inquiry learning model have been proven to be able to improve students' critical thinking processes in differentiation learning, and (3) Student worksheets with the inquiry learning model have been proven to be able to improve students' critical thinking skills in differentiation learning.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is a program implemented in schools with the aim of forming student character through project-based learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of P5 in forming environmentally conscious characters in elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative method, with a narrative research design involving principal, one teacher, four students and four parents in one of the schools located in Cibitung District, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province, which was selected using the opportunistic sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Inductive and thematic data analysis was carried out to identify, ignite, and create themes expressed by assistance participants with NVivo 12. This study resulted in the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in elementary schools successfully forming students' characters who care about the environment, are responsible, and creative in managing waste, supported by a waste exchange system for money. However, recommendations for further research are the need for strategies to overcome challenges such as difficulty sorting waste and student differences.

Abstract

Students' understanding of fractions in fourth-grade elementary school remains low due to the lack of contextual and engaging teaching materials. This study aims to develop teaching materials based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) to enhance students' understanding of fractions. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), though it was limited to the Develop stage due to time constraints. Expert validation results indicate that the teaching material has a very high level of validity. A limited trial conducted on 10 fourth-grade students showed an improvement in understanding by 45%-54%. Additionally, teacher feedback revealed that this teaching material is highly practical and easy to use in learning. The RME approach, which emphasizes the mathematization of real-world situations, has proven to help students grasp fraction concepts more effectively than conventional methods. Thus, RME-based teaching materials can serve as an innovative alternative to improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the fifth-grade IPAS daily test questions at SD Negeri 153/X Harapan Makmur based on Bloom’s Taxonomy. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using document analysis, interviews, and observations. "A total of two IPAS teachers were interviewed and observed to support data triangulation." The primary data consists of 120 daily test questions, categorized into LOTS (Lower Order Thinking Skills) and HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). The findings reveal that 81.7% of the questions fall into the LOTS category, while only 18.3% qualify as HOTS, with the majority at the analyzing (C4) level (72.7%), while evaluating (C5) and creating (C6) comprise only 18.2% and 9.1%, respectively. Interviews with teachers indicate that the main challenges in designing HOTS questions are a lack of training, time constraints, and difficulties in creating assessment rubrics. Therefore, improving teachers’ competence through HOTS question development training and the creation of a HOTS-based question bank is crucial to enhancing the quality of learning assessment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the role of schools in developing a sense of social care to students and identify obstacles that arise during the implementation of activities. The research method applied is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques based on documentation, observation, and interviews with principals, class teachers, and 2 students from the high class. The results showed that schools play an important role in instilling the character of social care which is realized through social activities that are carried out regularly and scheduled at MI Muhammadiyah PK Wirogunan which actively involves students and gets support from student guardians. The organized social activities are the dawn alms piggy bank, Friday infaq, and sharing activities with the community. In its implementation, the obstacles experienced were found in the presence of individuals who took items secretly exceeding the specified limit, and the lack of widespread information among the community to find out whether this sharing activity was open to the general public. The obstacles that occur can be constructive input for schools so that activities can take place optimally and in line with the goals set.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) Smart Cards in secondary schools in Mataram, Indonesia, focusing on their impact on student engagement and the challenges faced by teachers and students in adopting this technology. AR Smart Cards enhance interactive learning by overlaying digital information on real-world objects, creating a more immersive educational experience. Specific examples of improvement include an increase in student participation during interactive activities, such as physics simulations where students actively engage with 3D visualizations of complex phenomena, and enhanced problem-solving in geography, where students analyze and interact with 3D maps of regions. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design was employed, involving in-depth interviews with teachers and students, along with classroom observations. The findings reveal that AR Smart Cards significantly improve student engagement, motivation, and understanding of complex concepts. However, challenges such as limited access to devices, infrastructure constraints, and insufficient teacher training were identified as barriers to effective implementation. The study recommends investing in technology infrastructure, providing comprehensive teacher training, and fostering a collaborative learning environment to ensure the successful integration of AR in classrooms. This research contributes valuable insights into the potential of AR-based learning tools in enhancing student participation and educational outcomes. Future research could explore the long-term effects of AR on learning retention, investigate the impact of AR in diverse educational settings, and examine the effectiveness of AR tools across various disciplines to identify optimal integration strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of the teaching materials of the Indonesian Basic Education Course (KPDI) and the needs of BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) teaching materials for KPDI students in Mindanao, Philippines. This research method is a descriptive research type in the initial stage of defining the 4D model development research. Data collection techniques include interviews, non-participant observations, and literature studies. Interviews were conducted with students, teachers of the Indonesian School of Davao (SID), and staff of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Davao City. The results of the study showed that the main obstacles were the limited availability of relevant teaching materials and the lack of tutors with a strong Indonesian background. Reading comprehension skills, especially vocabulary, need to be improved. Priority topics of teaching materials include introductions, home environment, transportation, and school activities. Teaching materials must be easily accessible, independently studied, and interesting, and integrate the values ​​of the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) to strengthen Indonesian values. This is important for students who will continue their education at the Indonesian School Abroad (SILN). These findings highlight the need for contextual, accessible BIPA materials relevant to students’ environments and integrated with Pancasila values to support language skills and global readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of the algebraic thinking ability of fifth grade elementary school students in Lubuklinggau city. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The instruments used in this study were in the form of essay-shaped test questions to measure the initial algebraic thinking ability of elementary school students and non-tests in the form of interviews. The population in this study were upper elementary school students in the Lubuklinggau area. The sample in this study was selected using the stratified random sampling technique. From the population selected randomly, two schools were obtained as the place of this study. Based on the results of the study conducted by the researcher, it was obtained that the results of the algebraic thinking ability of 48 students on the first indicator were an average of 36%, on the second indicator an average of 30% was obtained, on the third indicator an average of 58% was obtained, on the fourth indicator an average of 61% was obtained and the fifth indicator an average of 40%. Of the five algebraic thinking indicators, the average ability of students was 45%. So it can be concluded that the algebraic thinking ability of elementary school students is still relatively low and there needs to be innovation in providing learning and teaching media to be able to improve the understanding of algebraic thinking of elementary school students as initial knowledge in preparing knowledge before learning algebra formally at the next level.

Abstract

One of the important mathematical thinking skills that students master is critical thinking skills. In fact, students' mathematical critical thinking skills in Indonesia are still relatively low. One of the factors that cause students to have low mathematical critical thinking skills is the use of less creative media. This study was conducted by analyzing the effect of using H5P interactive media on mathematical critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using H5P Interactive Media on the mathematical critical thinking skills of students in grade IX SMP Negeri 1 Ketapang. The samples in this study were students of class IX B as the experimental class and students of class IX C as the control class. The design used was a pretest-posttest control group design. The data of this research is quantitative data obtained from a mathematical critical thinking ability test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using a t-test with α = 0.05, it was found that the increase in mathematical critical thinking ability of students who took part in learning by using H5P interactive media was higher than the increase in mathematical critical thinking ability of students who took part in learning without using H5P interactive media. It can be concluded that the use of H5P interactive media has an effect on students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of audio-visual media on early reading skills and learning outcomes of first-grade students at Pertiwi I Private Elementary School in Jambi City. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design, the research involved two groups: an experimental group receiving audio-visual-based instruction and a control group using conventional methods. A total of 50 students participated, selected through purposive sampling. Data were gathered using pretest and posttest instruments, which had undergone validity and reliability testing. Early reading skills and learning outcomes were measured and analyzed using independent samples t-tests with a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed statistically significant differences favoring the experimental group, indicating that audio-visual media positively influenced students’ reading abilities and comprehension. Classroom observations supported these results, showing higher engagement and enthusiasm among students exposed to multimedia content. These findings highlight the potential of audio-visual media as an effective instructional tool that fosters meaningful and enjoyable literacy experiences for young learners.
