Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work discipline and workload on employee performance at the Samarinda City DPRD Secretariat. The background of this research is based on the importance of employee performance in supporting the smooth running of legislative tasks, and the assumption that discipline and workload are internal organizational factors that play a role in achieving this performance. The method used is quantitative with an associative approach, using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires to 76 respondents who are employees of the DPRD Secretariat, with saturated sampling techniques. The results showed that partially, work discipline (X1) had no significant effect on employee performance (Y), while workload (X2) had a significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect on performance, although the contribution of the effect is relatively low. This finding indicates that workload is a more dominant factor in influencing employee performance than work discipline. This study provides theoretical and practical implications, and recommends the need for work system evaluation and the development of more comprehensive managerial policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of employee competence and work facilities on service quality within the Social Affairs Office of East Kalimantan Province. A quantitative research approach was employed, using questionnaires distributed to all 50 employees as the total population. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression along with classical assumption tests to ensure the validity of the model. The results show that both employee competence and work facilities have a positive and significant effect on service quality, both partially and simultaneously. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.452, indicating that 45.2% of the variation in service quality can be explained by these two independent variables. Notably, work facilities exert a stronger influence (β = 0.285) compared to employee competence (β = 0.164). These findings highlight the importance of balancing employee competence development and the improvement of work facilities to ensure more effective, efficient, and responsive public service delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically analyze the influence of work-life balance and workload on employee performance at the North Samarinda District Office. The background of this study is based on the importance of creating a balance between personal and work and managing a healthy workload to increase the productivity of government apparatus. The research approach used is quantitative with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 100 employees from the district office and eight villages in the North Samarinda area. Data analysis was carried out using validity and reliability tests, classical assumptions, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R2) with the help of SPSS software version 23. The results of the study indicate that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on employee performance while workload has a positive but insignificant effect on employee performance. The determination coefficient shows that 27.2% of employee performance variations are run by these variables, the rest is influenced by other factors outside this study. This finding supports the importance of workload policies and management in improving performance in North Samarinda District.

Abstract

Several studies on hospital financial performance show that financial success is an important metric for measuring the performance of private hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyzing hospital financial reports can be done to evaluate financial performance. Financial ratio analysis was chosen as a method for assessing financial performance because of the diversity of aspects that can be measured, such as liquidity, profitability, profitability and operational activities. Through this analysis, it will be possible to understand how the financial performance of Paradise Mother and Child Hospital has changed during the 2018-2022 period, including in the context of the pandemic. Thus, this study is expected to provide valuable insights for hospital management and other stakeholders in facing future challenges. The results of the study show: (1) In terms of Liquidity Ratio ( Current Ratio and Quick Ratio ), RSIA Paradise's liquidity performance declined significantly in the 2018-2020 period, with the lowest point in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there was a recovery in 2021 and 2022. (2) Based on the solvency ratio, RSIA Paradise shows that the company experienced an increase in dependence on debt during the 2018-2020 period, with a significant increase in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. (3) Based on the performance of RSIA Paradise activities, it shows that the efficiency of the use of fixed assets and total assets fluctuated during the 2018-2022 period. (4) Based on the profitability performance ratio, RSIA Paradise showed significant fluctuations during the 2018-2022 period.

Abstract

This study was conducted with employees at a non-ministerial government-owned bank. Managerial openness refers to how willing supervisors are to listen to ideas, input, and feedback from their team members. Data were collected from 102 employees who had worked at the bank for at least one year. The survey was distributed in person and returned by those who voluntarily agreed to participate. The results revealed that 62.8% of employees felt that managerial openness was present but not yet optimal, 17.6% considered it to be high, and 19.6% perceived it as still low. These findings suggest that while some efforts have been made by managers to be more open, many employees still feel that their voices are not truly being heard. In the context of a government bank where formal structures and hierarchies are often strong this becomes a critical point. When leaders create space for open and respectful dialogue, employees tend to feel more confident in sharing their ideas and concerns.

Abstract

Employees are the main asset for a company in achieving organizational goals. In facing increasingly tight business competition, companies need to retain quality employees in order to maintain productivity and organizational stability. One of the main challenges faced by companies, including PT. Fajar Baizuri & Brothers, is employee retention, where employee retention is caused by various factors, including work motivation, work discipline, and compensation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work motivation, work discipline and compensation on employee retention at PT. Fajar Baizuri & Brothers, Nagan Raya Regency. The location of this research was conducted at PT. Fajar Baizuri & Brothers is located in Gampong Babah Rot, Tadu Raya District, Nagan Raya Regency. The objects in this study are work motivation, work discipline, and compensation on employee retention at PT. Fajar Baizuri & Brothers. Based on the results of the study, it shows that 1) there is an effect of work motivation on employee retention, 2) there is an effect of work discipline on employee retention, 3) there is an effect of work compensation on employee retention, and 4) simultaneously work motivation, work discipline, and compensation simultaneously have a significant and positive effect on employee retention at PT. Fajar Baizuri & Brothers, with the Fcount value (30.662) greater than Ftable (3.114) and the significance value is 0.000.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of incentives and leadership style on employee performance in a college environment, especially at Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo. The approach used is a survey approach with a quantitative method. This type of research is associative in nature which aims to test the relationship between incentive variables, leadership style, and employee performance. The population in this study was 130 employees, with a purposive sampling technique that produced 100 respondents as a sample. The data collection instrument used a Likert scale and was analyzed by t-test and simultaneous test. The results of the study showed that incentives had a significant partial effect on employee performance (t count = 5.810> t table = 2.052; sig. 0.00 <0.05), while leadership style did not have a significant partial effect (t count = 1.865 <t table = 2.052; sig. 0.065> 0.05). However, simultaneously, incentives and leadership style had a significant effect on employee performance. the results of the reliability test show a cronbach's alpha value > 0.6, which indicates that the research instrument is reliable. This study emphasizes the importance of a combination of appropriate incentives and appropriate leadership styles in improving employee performance in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the marketing strategies employed by PT Polowijo Gosari Indonesia to increase fertilizer sales in a competitive agricultural market. The research aims to identify effective marketing approaches including segmentation, targeting, positioning, and the marketing mix elements (product, price, place, promotion) that influence sales performance. Using qualitative methods such as direct observation, interviews, and documentation, the study reveals that PT Polowijo Gosari has implemented comprehensive marketing strategies that successfully expand market reach and customer base. The findings indicate that strategic segmentation of distributor and farmer markets, targeted promotions, and positioning the fertilizer products as superior contribute significantly to sales growth. Moreover, the marketing mix is optimized through product quality, competitive pricing, strategic distribution, and active promotional activities including digital media and exhibitions. The implications of this research suggest that continuous refinement of marketing strategies and expansion of distribution networks are vital for sustaining sales increases in the fertilizer industry. This study provides valuable insights for fertilizer companies aiming to enhance their market competitiveness and sales performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Employer Branding and work-related stress on Turnover Intention among Generation Z workers, with a case study in the Wedding Organizer industry in Samarinda City. Employer Branding, as an effort by companies to create a positive image in the eyes of employees and potential employees, as well as work-related stress arising from workload, is expected to have a significant influence on employees’ intention to leave their jobs. The data collection method used in this study is through the distribution of questionnaires via Google Forms, which were distributed to Generation Z workers in 5 Wedding Organizers in Samarinda City. The collected data were then analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between these variables. The results of this study are expected to provide insights into the factors influencing Turnover Intention among Generation Z workers and offer recommendations for companies to pay more attention to the mental well-being of their employees. With more focus on managing work-related stress and strengthening Employer Branding, companies are expected to build better relationships with Generation Z workers, thereby reducing Turnover Intention and enhancing their well-being in the workplace.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of compensation and work-life balance on teacher loyalty at public elementary schools in Samarinda Kota District. This research employed a quantitative approach with a sample of 93 respondents consisting of ASN (civil servant) and non-ASN teachers from SDN 005, SDN 006, SDN 007, and SDN 011 in Samarinda Kota District. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires. The independent variables in this study were compensation (X1) and work-life balance (X2), while the dependent variable was teacher loyalty (Y). Data analysis involved validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests for model feasibility (Goodness of Fit), and the coefficient of determination test (R²). The results showed that both compensation and work-life balance have a positive influence on teacher loyalty. Improvements in fair compensation and the creation of a balance between work and personal life can enhance teachers' loyalty to their respective schools. The Goodness of Fit test indicated that the regression model used in this study met the feasibility criteria and was significant, making it appropriate for predicting teacher loyalty in public elementary schools in Samarinda Kota District.
