Abstract

In Physical Education learning (PE), the absence of effective self-assessment to measure basic pencak silat techniques can hinder student learning and skill development. This research aimed to develop an Android-based self-assessment application for basic pencak silat techniques in PE classes. The study follows the Research and Development (R&D) method, incorporating the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Through expert validation and field trials at State High School 1 Bengkalis, the application's feasibility and effectiveness were assessed. Results showed a high level of feasibility and effectiveness, with significant improvement in students' understanding and skills in basic pencak silat techniques. The application offers benefits such as ease of use for teachers, increased student interest, and clear learning objectives. However, challenges include dependence on internet connectivity and device limitations. Despite limitations, this study contributes to innovative and efficient learning aids, enhancing skill assessment in PE. The implications extend to curriculum integration and improved assessment methods for teachers, empowering students to monitor their progress and enhance their skills independently. Future research could explore broader applications in sports learning and address specific needs in pencak silat education.

Abstract

The Adversity Quotient (AQ) is a measure of a person's resilience in adversity and ability to solve problems in Mathematics. In this study, the solution to the two-dimensional shape problem of grade 3 elementary school students was explained based on the adversity quotient. This type of descriptive exploration is used to conduct qualitative research. Three grade III students of SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang City were involved in this study representing 3 categories of AQ. The tools used are written exam questions, interview guidelines, and observations. One question related to the circumference of a two-dimensional shape is given in the form of a written test. This study analyzed the learning outcomes of three third-grade students through four stages: data transcription, data selection, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed two problem-solving patterns based on the AQ category. The first pattern is understanding the problem, planning the problem-solving, executing the plan, and looking back is done by the category of quitters and campers. The second pattern of understanding the problem, planning the problem solving, executing the plan, understanding the problem, planning the problem solving, executing the plan, and looking back is done with the category of climbers.

Abstract

There are still researchers who point out the need to strengthen the theoretical framework in developing QR-code based modules. Most of the articles reviewed pointed out relevant limitations or broader methods and a lack of mapping towards the use of QR-code based modules. This research aims to explore previous research related to the development of barcode-based modules (QR-Code) used in learning, especially for science and mathematics students in high schools in Indonesia. The authors used a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines. Articles sourced from EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, and Taylor and Francis. After reading the abstracts and conducting further searches, the authors identified 6 articles for systematic review. Researchers found that the barcode link-based module had a positive impact on learning. Most of the research articles were found in national journals, and most of the research was conducted on the islands of Java and Sulawesi. However, further analysis shows the need for growth in theoretical frameworks, development in other fields, and the availability of learning materials for research into learning media development, such as in chemistry education.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are fundamental to helping students face challenges in education and work. However, there is limited research on students’ collaboration skills, particularly using a specific model. This present study aims to analyze the influence of the Warm-up, Exploring, Argumentation, Resume (WE-ARe) model on students' collaboration skills. We employed a quasi-experimental design with a Pre-test and Post-test Group Design. The sample was Islamic High School of Eleventh Grade Natural Science Program-2, totalling 28 people. The data was obtained through questionnaires, observation, and interview questions with instruments validated by experts and empirical processes. The t-test results show that the WE-ARe learning model significantly influences students’ collaboration skills with a t-count of 47.753 (sig. 0.000). This finding indicates that the research hypothesis concerning differences in students' pre-test and post-test collaboration skills in the WE-ARe learning model was accepted, signifying that the WE-ARe learning model improves students’ collaboration skills. It can be concluded that the WE-ARe model influences students' collaboration skills. This finding implies that the WE-ARe model can be an alternative innovative model in accommodating students’ collaboration skills in learning.
