Abstract

Children's understanding of science at RA Az Zahra is still very low, children are less active and feel less active bored and still having difficulty understanding science activities. This condition is caused by use the method used is not appropriate. The aim of the researcher in conducting this research is to know Children's understanding of science increases through the use of experimental methods. Researcher using a type of classroom action research (PTK). In this study took 10 girls aged 5-6 years as research subjects. Researcher using data collection techniques in the form of observation, performance and documentation. Results Action research can be seen in observing children's development in each cycle, namely pre-cycle with a score of 30%, a percentage of 50% in the first cycle stage and a percentage of 80% in cycle II stage. Percentage increase in understanding of science through experimental methods has achieved a success indicator of 80%. So that is the conclusion of this research proves that the experimental method has been proven to be able to increase understanding science in children aged 5-6 years. This can be seen from cycle II which reached an indicator of 80%.

Abstract

Education plays a key role in human resource development. English, as an international language, holds a crucial role in advancing the quality of education. This article discusses the significance of English language instruction at SMKS Praja Pandawa, a vocational school in Bangli. Despite the focus on tourism, there is a lack of interest in learning English among students. Factors influencing learning interest, such as teaching methods and the learning environment, need to be understood and evaluated by teachers. This research employs a qualitative approach with observation and interview techniques in the 11th-grade class at SMKS Praja Pandawa to analyze students' interest in learning English. The results are expected to provide further insights for enhancing English learning interest in that educational environment.

Abstract

This study originated from problems in learning Indonesian language in class II SD Inpres Sempan Barat Timika where most students have difficulty in understanding Indonesian language learning materials, so that the learning outcomes obtained by students are low. Therefore, to improve student learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning on wise money use materials, the Project Based Learning Model was applied to grade II students of SD Inpres Sempan Barat Timika. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) using a qualitative approach. This research was conducted on grade II students of SD Inpres Sempan Barat Timika with a total of 24 students. The instruments used to collect data were observation sheets, documentation and learning outcome tests. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. This research was conducted in two times cycle and each cycle consists of one meeting. The results of research from each cycle that has been carried out using the Project Based Learning Model show an improvement in both the learning process and student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the achievement of students in learning, where in cycle I the average score obtained by students only reached 70.8% completeness with an average student score of 68.75, while in cycle II showed a fairly high increase with completeness reaching 87.5% and an average student score of 82. Thus it can be concluded that the use of Project Based Learning Model can improve student learning outcomes in learning Indonesian Language in class II SD Inpres Sempan Barat Timika.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the activity and results of learning mathematics by using puzzle media in arithmetic operations for class IV SDN 054932 Rantau Panjang. The design of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) model Mc. Kemmis and Taggart, namely research conducted for two cycles. The data collection instruments used were tests and observations. Data analysis techniques in this study used qualitative and quantitative data. Based on the results of the research, it is known that before being given class action the learning activities are unsatisfactory, the learning outcomes are not complete as much as 60% and the lack of use of learning media. So the researcher conducted a class action by using a puzzle media. The results of the optimal use of puzzle media are evident from the results of teacher observations in cycle I meeting one reaching 72% (good enough) increasing in meeting two reaching 78% (good), while for Cycle II meeting one reaching 74% (good enough) increasing in meeting two reached 80% (good), and in cycle III meeting one reached 94% (very good) increased at meeting two reached 98% (very good). For student activity in cycle I, meeting one reached 70% (good enough) increased at meeting two, reaching 76% (good), while in cycle II, meeting one reached 72% (good enough) and increased at meeting two to 86% (very good ). And in cycle III meeting one reached 92% (very good) increased at meeting two reached 98% (very good). Student learning outcomes in cycle I meeting one reached 45% (not good) increased at meeting two to 50% (poor), while in cycle II meeting one reached 72% (very good) increased in meeting two to 78% (very good ), and in cycle III the first meeting reached 81% (very good) increased at the second meeting to reach 90% (very good). Thus it can be concluded that using puzzle media in learning mathematics in arithmetic operations can increase activity and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Writing ability is one of the productive language skills, meaning that with the ability to read and write students can produce work in written form. Many things are involved when someone writes. Think regularly and logically, be able to express ideas clearly, and be able to use language effectively and apply rules in writing. Improving students' writing skills through the spelling method in lower grades has proven to be effective in various aspects. First, the spelling method helps build a basic understanding of letters and syllables, which are basic skills in writing. By understanding how to spell words correctly, students can build a strong foundation for their writing skills. Second, the spelling method stimulates student creativity. By inviting students to create sentences or stories by spelling, they can express their ideas and imagination more freely. This process not only involves the technical aspects of writing, but also develops creative and narrative thinking skills. In developing students' writing skills in lower grades, this method paves the way for holistic learning, bringing together technical, creative and functional aspects of writing. By proving its effectiveness, the spelling method makes a positive contribution to students' literacy development at the elementary level

Abstract

Weaknesses in the implementation of the learning process must be addressed through conducting an action research. This prompted the researcher to conduct a class action research. The research aimed to improve the learning process as well as to increase students' learning achievement. The subject of the research was 3rd grade students. While the object of research is Indonesian language learning achievement. Learning achievement data was collected through learning achievement tests and then analysed using descriptive analysis. Success criteria: class average score of at least 75 and classical completeness of at least 85%. The initial data only reached a score of 68.12 with 45% learning completeness, in cycle I it rose to 79.36 with 75% learning completeness, and in cycle II it rose to 88.21 with 97% learning completeness. The data in cycle II shows that the expected success has been achieved and has even exceeded the success indicators of the proposed research study. Thus, the researcher concluded that the jigsaw type cooperative learning model applied in the learning process was able to improve the Indonesian language learning achievement of grade 3 students.

Abstract

The development of strategic planning in the education system is urgent in creating effective schools, namely schools that have work processes that are consistent with the planning context. Meanwhile, strategic planning is planning that focuses on achieving the school's vision, mission and goals. In an effort to optimize strategic planning, sensitivity to changes in strategy is needed, respect for work risks, having a solid work team, creative, proactive, responsive to changes and problems, creative and innovative, and having high dedication to achieving goals according to targets, hopes and needs. , demands and ability adjustments. Therefore, the process of developing strategic planning includes 5 components that must be considered in school management, namely: (a) Strategy for achieving vision, mission and goals; (b) Strength of Planning Consistency; (c) Strengthening team collaboration; (4) Risk Management; and (5) the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluating the achievement of goals and the realization of effective schools.

Abstract

This article discusses Content Analysis of English Language Teaching Materials in the Food and Beverage Industry. This research method uses descriptive research method. The results showed that the book "English for Food and Beverages" has 104 pages with 4 chapters. Used by Buleleng Seamen Alliance College, the focus is on the combination of speaking and reading skills for students who serve tourists in hotels or restaurants. The research also looked at the suitability of the tasks and materials with Burhan Nurgiantoro's criteria. Content analysis of English language teaching materials in the food and beverage industry is important to ensure that they meet industry needs, improve language and communication skills, and support professional development. Effective teaching materials can help learners in the hospitality and tourism industry to succeed in their careers. In addition, the use of appropriate evaluation criteria, such as those proposed by Burhan Nurgiantoro, can help in assessing the quality of tasks and materials in textbooks.

Abstract

The highest position at the linguistic level is discourse. Discourse is said to be the most complete unit of language. Discourse analysis is the study of message structure in communication. This research describes the structure and function of food and beverage products in television advertising. Researchers use a discourse analysis approach, with a qualitative research type. This research method is descriptive analysis, using listening and note-taking techniques. The data source in this research was obtained through food and drink advertisements. The research results show that there is an advertising structure consisting of the main points of the advertisement consisting of four propositions, namely: (a) providing benefits for potential consumers; (b) the title and subtitle sentences are product brands with foreign terms or seem unique; (c) question sentences to consumers; (d) orders to potential consumers to do something. The explanatory items consist of three propositions, namely: (a) subjective reasons; (b) objective reasons; (c) a mixture of subject and objective reasons. The closing points of the advertisement were developed into: hard techniques, soft techniques, and a mixture of hard and soft techniques. Apart from that, researchers obtained language functions which include: information function, persuasive function, and image building function for a product.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Lesson Study with the Realistic Mathematics This Classroom Action Research (CAR) focuses on enhancing Science learning outcomes among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Dawuan Tengah 1, particularly in the topic of Ecosystem. The study employs the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) teaching method across multiple cycles. Pre-cycle assessment revealed low achievement rates, prompting a shift from conventional teaching methods to TGT. Results indicate a significant improvement in student performance over successive cycles, with 80% meeting the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) by the second cycle. Analysis suggests that TGT fosters a more engaging and participatory learning environment, addressing student disinterest and fear towards Science. The findings underscore the importance of innovative teaching approaches in enhancing student learning outcomes, with implications for curriculum design and pedagogical practices.
