Abstract

Data management and governance play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation of information systems in organizations, especially in online learning platforms based on Tutor LMS on WordPress. This article discusses the development of a data framework (data blueprint) through a case study approach to an e-learning platform that includes four main phases: Data Strategy and Maturity, Data Integration Assessment, Data Quality Assessment, and Data Analytics Evaluation. By implementing appropriate data governance principles, such as role-based access control (RBAC), API integration, and data quality validation, the platform can provide a more adaptive, efficient, and secure learning experience. This article aims to contribute to the practical and theoretical understanding of modern data management in technology-based education environments. The implementation of structured data governance through a data blueprint approach can improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and security of online learning systems. The four main phases—data strategy, integration, quality, and analytics—are the foundation for managing data as a strategic asset. The support of advanced technologies such as APIs, AI, and visual dashboards facilitate accurate and real-time data-based decision making.

Abstract

Scratch is very beneficial for children in developing logical thinking. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Scratch in elementary school social studies learning in the digital era. This research was conducted at SDN Sawocangkring. The research population of class IV AC was 93 students. The sample was selected purposively, resulting in a sample of 62 students in class IV-A and IV-B. This type of research was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. Class IV-A was the experimental class, while class IV-B was the control class. The experimental class used scratch media for learning, while the control class used powerpoint media. This research instrument used pretest and posttest on social studies material with the same questions in the form of multiple choice questions totaling 25 items. Data analysis used the T test with the help of SPSS 2.5.0 for Windows. Because the Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.000 < 0.05, then H₀ is rejected. And H₁ is accepted. This means there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results after using Scratch learning media. In addition to improving scores, student engagement also increased. Researchers noted that during the learning process using Scratch, students appeared more active in discussing, asking questions, and collaborating in creating simple animation projects on social studies themes.

Abstract

Character education is an urgent need in the midst of the moral challenges faced by today’s younger generation. The Maitreya Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) in Batam, as a non-formal educational institution, aims to instill noble values from an early age, especially among junior and senior high school students. This research focuses on three main questions: how teachers act as role models, character builders, and motivators in cultivating the values of appreciating achievement and social care based on the Dasa Paramita; which Dasa Paramita values are most relevant and dominant in shaping these character traits; and how the teachers’ role impacts students’ behavior and habits in the SMB Maitreya Batam environment. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions with teachers, students, parents, and school administrators. Thematic analysis was applied through coding, categorization, and interpretation to gain a deep understanding of the teachers’ role and the implementation of Dasa Paramita values in learning and character building. The results show that teachers at SMB Maitreya Batam play a key role as role models, character builders, and motivators in instilling Dasa Paramita values, especially the character of appreciating achievement and social care. The most dominant values for appreciating achievement are effort (vīriya), wisdom (paññā), and determination (adhiṭṭhāna), while for social care they are generosity (dāna), morality (sīla), and loving-kindness (mettā), supported by integrative values such as patience (khanti) and skillful means (upāya). These values not only strengthen academic achievement but also build balanced social character, making students more open, disciplined, empathetic, and caring toward their environment. The findings confirm the relevance of the Dasa Paramita as an effective moral foundation for character education in a non-formal Buddhist setting.

Abstract

This research opens up a space for discourse on the existence of various perspectives of musicians and the community regarding the dominance of instruments. They believe that there is one instrument that has a higher 'value' than other instruments. In this case, ‘value’ can be interpreted as dominance, tendency, ‘primacy’, ‘existence’ and ‘position’ within a band or musical ensemble. The urgency of this research is to see to what extent this dominance is interpreted in a musical performance by musicians, the general public, and how this is connected to the concept of 'equality' from an instrumentation perspective. Something that becomes ‘blurry’ when an instrument is debated without a ‘balanced’ indicator or is diminuted from the character of the instrument.

Abstract

Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) is a state-owned financial institution that focuses on empowering underprivileged women through the Mekaar program. This program is expected to serve as initial capital for communities to improve their welfare through small-scale business activities. However, in practice, the utilization of loan funds does not always align with the initial objectives, as most beneficiaries tend to use the loans to meet daily household needs. This phenomenon is particularly interesting to study in Jorong Pinang Makmur, Timpeh Sub-district, Dharmasraya Regency. This study aims to examine the patterns of PNM Mekaar fund utilization by members, as well as to analyze the socio-economic dynamics that influence their decisions in managing these funds. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews and observations, a total of 31 informants consisting of members and PNM account officers were analyzed using Max Weber's social action theory. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of members use the loan funds for daily consumption and children's education (92%), while only a small portion (8%) use it for its intended purpose as business capital. This pattern of fund utilization is influenced by the economic pressures of underprivileged households, low financial literacy, limited business opportunities, and local socio-economic conditions. This phenomenon reflects Weber's form of social rationality, in which members' economic actions are not only driven by capitalist productive logic but also by instrumental goals, value orientations, and social norms to maintain the group's survival and honor. Thus, the utilization of PNM Mekaar funds in the research location functions more as a means of supporting basic needs than as a means of developing productive businesses, which implies the need for program evaluation in a social context.

Abstract

This research is experimental research using the A-B-A quasi-experimental single-case design method, carried out on a 19-year-old woman with complaints of fear and disgust at seeing objects/body parts with hollow patterns, or what is called trypophobia. The research aims to reduce the anxiety level of trypophobia sufferers when watching videos that display objects/bodies with a pattern of holes lasting 5 minutes. First, a behavior modification program is prepared before treatment is carried out and agreed upon with the research subjects. In this behavior modification program, new behavior is formed using two main techniques, namely exposure techniques and economic tokens. To measure the level of anxiety, this study used the distress unit scale (SUD) and an anxious behavior observation checklist. Measurements were carried out in three situations, namely baseline, treatment, and follow-up. Treatment is carried out every day with a total of 6 meetings. The SUD results changed from an anxiety level of 80-100 SUD at the baseline stage to 10 SUD after treatment. The results of observations listing changes in anxious behaviour are displayed in graphical form in three situations, which show a decrease in anxious behaviour. A checklist for observing the subject's comfortable behavior throughout the treatment was also carried out. The results showed significant changes in facial expressions and other body language, indicating that the subjects were able to feel more comfortable when watching the video. Thus, the behaviour modification program is effective in reducing the anxiety of trypophobia sufferers and is successful in forming new behaviour, namely from anxious behaviour to calmer/comfortable behaviour.
