Abstract

Writing is a language skill that needs to be taught seriously because it is related to creative thinking. However, it is inversely proportional to the current reality where learning to write is very less attractive to elementary school students, because it is still the application of a one-way learning model that makes students passive. Currently SDN Luworo 01 and SDN Luworo 03 Pilangkenceng have implemented learning innovations with the SAVI learning model. The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions of students on the SAVI learning model and how it impacts students. This research is descriptive qualitative, using a survey approach. The research subjects were teachers and phase c learners of class V. Methods for collecting data include documentation, questionnaires, interviews, and observation. Participants totaled 40 people consisting of 2 teachers and 38 students. Data analysis was carried out interactively through the stages of: (a) Collecting data; (b) Data assessment; (c) Interpreting data; (d) Making data conclusions. The results showed that most of the fifth grade students gave positive responses/perceptions to the SAVI learning model and were considered interesting and able to improve students' writing skills. During learning, teachers are also considered capable and have sufficient insight when applying the SAVI learning model in class.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sustainability level of the coconut farming system in Indragiri Hilir Regency using a multistakeholder approach and the SAFA (Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agriculture Systems) framework. The analysis covers four sustainability dimensions: economic, environmental, social, and governance. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs) involving various stakeholders such as farmers, traders, cooperatives, village governments, and related government agencies. The results show that the social dimension has the highest sustainability score (4.26; categorized as "good"), followed by governance (3.60; "fair"), environment (3.08; "moderate"), and economy (2.52; "poor"). Stakeholder mapping using the power–interest grid indicates that farmers have high interest but low influence, while agricultural offices and cooperatives have high influence. These findings form the basis for recommendations on collaborative strategies to enhance the sustainabilityof the coconut farming system.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Application of Inquiry Learning Models and Discovery Learning to Increase Motivation in Students at UPTD Sdn 122349 Pematangsiantar. This type of research is quantitative using an experimental model (quasi-experiment). The design of this study will use a 2x2 factorial design because there are 2 sub-variables in each independent and dependent variable. To determine the classes to be studied, namely experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 in class V at UPTD SD Negeri 122349 Pematangsiantar using a simple random sampling method. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion in this study, several conclusions are put forward as follows: There are differences in science learning outcomes in students taught with inquiry and Discovery learning models in class V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar. There are differences in science learning motivation in students taught with inquiry and Discovery learning models in class V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar. There is an interaction between the learning model and learning motivation in influencing science learning outcomes in grade V students at UPTD SDN 122349 Pematangsiantar. Abstract

Miscopception wrong concepts in science learning is a major challenge for elementary school (SD) students, which can hinder the learning process and form a less scientific mindset. This article discusses the influence of Problem Based Learning and Inquiry Learning models on understanding science concepts, as well as the role of critical thinking skills in supporting this understanding. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The results of the research show that there are significant differences in understanding concepts between students taught with Problem Based Learning and Inquiry Learning. The average conceptual understanding score for students taught with Problem Based Learning is 72.07, while for students taught with Inquiry Learning it is 69.65. In addition, students with high critical thinking skills have an average conceptual understanding score of 81.15, while students with low critical thinking skills have an average score of 60.5. The research results also show that there is an interaction between the learning model and critical thinking skills on students' understanding of concepts. Problem Based Learning has proven to be more effective in increasing understanding of concepts, especially for students with high critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the learning model has a significant effect on understanding science concepts, with Problem Based Learning being a more effective strategy than Inquiry Learning. Apart from that, critical thinking skills play an important role in increasing understanding of science concepts in elementary schools.

Abstract

Oil palm productivity on smallholder farms remains low despite several interventions to transform agriculture, especially in developing countries. Farmers in rural areas face serious constraints that limit their oil palm production capacity. Smallholders have unprofitable access to markets which in turn makes their business less profitable. Therefore, this study analyzes oil palm productivity of smallholders in Seberida Village. A random sample of 50 oil palm smallholders was selected. The normalized translog productivity function was then calculated through one-step estimation of technical efficiency and its determinants using STATA software. The results showed that fertilizer cost and land area were positive factors that drove profits. Complementarity between resources was a very important determinant of profits. The study concluded that land area and farmers’ resources had a positive effect on oil palm production. Farming profits increased with the increase in land area. Therefore, this study recommends that policies that support commercialization of smallholders will increase agricultural profits.

The Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis approach was utilized. The study's findings indicate that: (1) CPO export growth, FFB prices, CPO prices, and exchange rates all have a tendency to vary annually. (2) Both in the short and long run, CPO exports are positively and significantly impacted by the FFB price and CPO pricing variables. (3) Both in the short and long term, CPO exports are positively impacted by the exchange rate variable, though not significantly.
