Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM), customer trust in influencers, and purchasing decisions, with Brand Image as a mediator. The author of this study used SmartPLS 4 with a quantitative analysis method. The sample size was 110 people, with the criteria of followers of influencer Tasyi Athasyia and having tried Indomie products. In the results of this study, eWOM does not directly influence purchasing decisions. Consumer trust in influencers influences purchasing decisions. Brand Image can mediate the influence of E-WoM and trust in influencers on purchasing decisions, which means that brand image plays an important role in bridging the influence of communication and consumer trust in determining the final purchasing decision.

Abstract

This study explores the theoretical misalignments in contemporary global financial strategies amid rapidly evolving digital, geopolitical, and sustainability-driven dynamics. The objective is to identify where and why classical financial theories—such as the Capital Asset Pricing Model, agency theory, Modigliani–Miller propositions, and mean-variance portfolio optimization—fail to account for the strategic behaviors observed in today's financial ecosystems. Employing a qualitative, literature-based research design, the study integrates 142 scholarly and institutional sources published between 2015 and 2025. Through a reflexive thematic analysis, the research identifies four critical domains of theory–practice divergence: digital disequilibrium, geopolitical asymmetry, sustainability valuation gaps, and behavioral–algorithmic reflexivity. The findings demonstrate that digital finance introduces endogenous structural risks unmodeled in traditional frameworks; geopolitical fragmentation has shifted capital structure choices away from open-market logic; ESG integration significantly influences firm valuation and cost of capital, challenging existing models; and the rise of machine learning and behavioral feedback loops undermines rational-agent assumptions. These insights reveal the necessity for a paradigm shift in financial theory—toward models that are adaptive, multi-dimensional, and reflective of technological and systemic complexity. The study concludes that without theoretical evolution, strategic financial decisions risk being anchored to outdated assumptions, leading to suboptimal risk management and value creation. The implications extend to scholars, managers, and regulators seeking to realign financial strategy with emerging global realities.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the strengthening of anti-corruption-based village governance through a regulative approach and the role of social institutions in Swastika Buana Village. In the context of the increasing urgency of transparency and accountability at the village government level, this research focuses on how local legal instruments can build institutional integrity. The method is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results showed that the village has established several Village Regulations (Perdes), Village Head Decrees, and SOPs that systematically regulate village financial governance, including the planning, implementation, administration, and accountability of the APBDes. In addition, a periodic and structured mechanism for evaluating the performance of village officials has been implemented, as well as regulations regarding the control of gratuities, bribes, and conflicts of interest. The process of procuring goods and services has also followed formal standards through cooperation agreements with providers to apply the principles of legality and accountability. The active participation of the community and the role of local social institutions are proven to strengthen the effectiveness of the regulation's implementation and encourage more open and anti-corruption government practices. This research provides theoretical implications for the development of local institution-based governance, as well as managerial recommendations related to increasing the capacity of the apparatus, digitising the village system, and internalising public ethical values.

Abstract

The deactivation of 7.39 million participants in the National Health Insurance Contribution Assistance Program (PBI-JKN) by the Ministry of Social Affairs in early 2025 sparked policy controversy, particularly regarding data accuracy and its impact on vulnerable groups. This study aims to analyze the governance of data verification and the implementation of this policy within the framework of Good Enough Governance proposed by Marlie S. Grindle. Through a case study in Central Java Province—covering Semarang, Demak, and Wonogiri—this research explores how local bureaucratic and fiscal capacity limitations influence responses to central government policies. The results reveal a mismatch between the central government's technocratic approach and the adaptive needs of local areas. While digitalization enhances efficiency, the lack of social sensitivity in implementation risks causing health exclusion. The theory of Good Enough Governance is relevant for evaluating policies contextually and realistically, where reforms do not have to be ideal but sufficiently effective in reaching people with low incomes. The study recommends improvements in data integration, public participation, and policies grounded in social justice. These findings will enrich the discourse on inclusive and adaptive social policy governance amid systemic limitations.

Abstract

This study explores the campaign strategies and the role of social networks in shaping electoral success in the 2024 legislative elections in Kolaka Regency, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research reveals that successful candidates primarily relied on community-based campaign strategies, emphasizing door-to-door outreach, participation in religious and cultural events, and symbolic acts of social solidarity. Rather than formal party platforms, candidates' presence and emotional closeness with voters influenced voter behavior. The findings demonstrate that social networks, particularly kinship ties, religious groups such as Majelis Taklim, and youth communities served as critical channels for political mobilization. Candidates embedded in these networks gained greater visibility and legitimacy, which was essential for electoral trust. In semi-urban areas like Watubangga and Tanggetada, digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram were also used strategically, especially among young voters. However, the effectiveness of digital communication was deeply rooted in offline relational capital. The study also underscores the persistence of patron-client relations in local electoral dynamics. Voter support was frequently driven by past personal assistance, social reciprocity, and community recognition rather than policy considerations. Patronage was not always transactional; it often took the form of moral obligations and long-term social investment. Overall, the research highlights that effective electoral strategies in Kolaka are built on message delivery, sustained social engagement, and embeddedness in local relational structures.

Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of cyberpolitics as a digital democratic space with a focus on political campaigns through Instagram in the 2024 Makassar Pilwalkot. Social media, especially Instagram, is used intensely by candidate pairs to build a political image and convey work programs visually to the public. On the other hand, millennials, as the dominant social media users, utilise the platform to access political information, interact directly with candidates, and determine voting preferences. Through a literature study approach and content analysis, this research shows that digital space has great potential in expanding horizontal political participation. However, the effectiveness of cyberspace as a democratic arena cannot be separated from challenges such as symbolic participation, algorithm dominance, and digital literacy gaps. Instagram has been proven to facilitate the political participation of the younger generation. However, it has not been able to fully bridge the inequality of political representation due to digital exclusion. By applying the theories of agenda setting, political efficacy, and networked public sphere, this study concludes that the quality of political communication, information disclosure, and the critical capacity of digital citizens largely determine the success of digital democracy in cyberspace.

Abstract

This study explores the evolving landscape of drug abuse across Asia and critically examines the role of community-level interventions in addressing substance use disorders within diverse cultural and structural contexts. Employing a qualitative systematic literature review approach, the research synthesizes findings from 75 peer-reviewed articles, institutional reports, and policy briefs published between 2005 and 2024. The study investigates three primary dimensions: emerging epidemiological patterns of drug use, the design and effectiveness of community-based interventions, and the enabling or constraining structural factors that shape public health outcomes. Data analysis was conducted through thematic coding and narrative synthesis, enabling cross-national comparisons and contextual interpretation of intervention frameworks. The findings reveal a significant shift from traditional opioid use in rural and borderland regions to increasing synthetic stimulant and poly-substance use in urban centers, driven by socio-economic stress, youth culture, and digital influences. Community-based interventions that integrate vocational support, mental health counseling, peer mentorship, and cultural components show higher efficacy in relapse prevention and social reintegration. Digital innovations, such as tele-counseling and mobile relapse monitoring, are expanding access, though digital divides remain a concern. Structural enablers, such as health-oriented policies in Malaysia and Vietnam, contrast sharply with punitive frameworks in countries like the Philippines, significantly influencing community trust and intervention sustainability. The study concludes that community-based, multidimensional, and culturally grounded strategies are critical to reducing drug-related harm in Asia and recommends further longitudinal and participatory research to inform equitable policy development..

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of capital expenditure and the human development index (HDI) on per capita income in Aceh Province, using panel data from 23 districts/cities during the period 2011–2023. The analysis method used is panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach, which was selected based on the results of the Chow and Hausman test. The results show that capital expenditure has a positive and significant effect on per capita income, indicating that the effectiveness of the allocation of this expenditure is optimal in driving local economic growth. Likewise, the HDI has a positive and significant effect, indicating that improving the quality of education, health, and people's living standards contributes significantly to increasing per capita income. These findings emphasize the synergy between physical development through capital expenditure and human development through increasing the HDI to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Aceh Province.

Abstract

The results show that gender empowerment positively influences poverty, although it is not statistically significant. Meanwhile, women's income has a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate, which means that the higher the contribution of women's income in the household, the lower the poverty rate. In addition, economic growth also has an adverse effect on poverty, which indicates that an increase in a region's economy contributes to reducing poverty. However, in the moderation analysis, economic growth does not significantly strengthen or weaken the relationship between gender empowerment and women's income and poverty. These findings provide insights for the government in designing more effective poverty alleviation policies by considering gender empowerment and increasing women's income.

Abstract

The influence of social media, shifting lifestyles, and increasing public awareness of appearance has contributed significantly to the rapid growth of the beauty industry. One of the beauty clinics that has successfully expanded is MS Glow Aesthetic Clinic, which offers both professional aesthetic services and premium beauty products. This study aims to examine the impact of service quality and brand image on customer loyalty at MS Glow Aesthetic Clinic Bandung. Service quality refers to the extent to which a service meets or exceeds customer expectations, while brand image represents consumers' perceptions and impressions about a brand. In this context, customer loyalty is the customer's commitment to choose MS Glow's services despite alternatives consistently. This study employs a quantitative approach, involving a survey of 30 respondents who are clients of MS Glow Aesthetic Clinic Bandung. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to evaluate both the partial and simultaneous effects of brand image and service quality on customer loyalty. The results show that service quality and brand image both positively and significantly affect customer loyalty, individually and collectively. This study is expected to contribute to academic insights in marketing, particularly in the beauty services sector, and provide practical support for MS Glow's business strategy.
