Abstract

According to Law Number 20 of 2003, education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have spiritual religious strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals, and skills needed by themselves, society, nation and state. Every citizen aged 6 (six) years can participate in the compulsory education program. Biaya Operasional Pendidikan (BOP) are the main source of school financing budgeted through the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government organizes a BOP assistance program for State Education Units. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the BOP fund assistance program must accommodate school needs related to the provision of facilities and infrastructure in education units.  SMKN 60 West Jakarta is the research locus because it is the only Tourism SMKN that has the largest budget for maintaining its facilities and infrastructure in the West Jakarta Education Sub-dept. II Region in the 2023 Fiscal Year and the only SMKN out of a total of 63 SMKNs in DKI Jakarta that received rehabilitation funds for repairs and demolition of school buildings in the 2022 Fiscal Year. Based on these conditions, an analysis of the strategy for implementing the BOP funding policy at  SMKN 60 West Jakarta will be carried out along with the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the policy. It is hoped that the implementation of the BOP funding policy will be effective, transparent and accountable in educational units, especially at  SMKN 60 West Jakarta.

Abstract

The intergenerational leadership transition in family-owned startups poses unique challenges in financial decision-making. Unlike established family companies, startups have a more fluid organizational structure and rely on flexibility in dealing with risks and high capital requirements. This study aims to identify patterns of financial decisions during the generational transition process and examine the influence of family dynamics on financial preferences and strategies taken. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, this study was conducted on five family startups in Indonesia that are undergoing a succession process. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with cross-generational family members involved in finance and leadership functions. The analysis was carried out thematically with a grounded theory approach. The results show that the difference in risk orientation and decision-making horizon between the founding generation and the next generation creates tension as well as opportunities for adaptation. The founding generation tends to maintain internal control and avoid debt, while the new generation is more open to external investors and growth-based financial approaches. This study presents an early model of intergenerational financial dynamics and provides insights for the designers of family-based organizational transition strategies.

Abstract

The armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which erupted in early 2022, has evolved into a global crisis—triggering food and energy shortages and threatening international geopolitical stability. This far-reaching turmoil has demanded diplomatic engagement from peace-committed nations, including Indonesia. This study aims to examine the role and strategies undertaken by the Indonesian government in responding to the conflict, as well as to uncover any underlying national interests behind its peace initiatives. Using a comprehensive literature review, the findings reveal that Indonesia positioned itself as a dialogue initiator and actively pursued bilateral and multilateral communications with the parties involved. While the diplomacy is officially framed as neutral and aligned with Indonesia’s constitutional mandate for peace, deeper analysis suggests pragmatic motives—such as safeguarding economic stability and bolstering Indonesia’s image as a credible global actor—also influence the peace mission.

Abstract

This study discusses the factors that contribute to the success of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) as a strategic instrument in village economic development. The study begins with a general portrait of BUMDes in Indonesia that shows variations in performance and sustainability, followed by an explanation of the legal basis for the formation of BUMDes such as Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages which emphasizes the importance of village economic independence. The urgency of establishing BUMDes lies in its ability to optimally manage local potential, increase village original income, and strengthen community participation in development. This study also highlights areas that have succeeded in developing BUMDes, such as in Central Java and Yogyakarta. which demonstrate good practices in village business governance and innovation. The key factors for the success of BUMDes include the availability of adequate capital and financial resources, human resource capacity and leadership quality, the suitability of business units with local village potential, active community participation and stakeholder support, and the implementation of governance and transparency. In addition, adaptive BUMDes management strategies, based on local potential, and upholding the principles of collaboration and professionalism are important aspects in ensuring business sustainability.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of operational management in PT Kalbe Farma Tbk one of a leading pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia through the strategic location selection. Using a qualitative description approach and secondary data, this study provides a description of the Kalbe Farma’s holistic operational practice, such as integration of supply chain, human resources development, technologies. The company excels in strategic location planning, locating production and distribution centers near transportation nodes and population centers with strong market concentrations to enhance efficiency and minimize the cost of logistics. Yet, the steep rise in land prices and congestion in infrastructure etc, continue to remain as challenges. Kalbe tackles these by using digital inventory systems and strengthening partnerships with the public sector. The results illustrate that there are five key success factors for location strategy: market access, supply chain management, qualified labor force, technological assimilation, and environmentalism. Secondly, in its corporate transformation, Kalbe Farma uses a hub-and-spoke approach to optimize service location and national distribution radii. The strategic operation management such as location planning of Kalbe Farma is able to help to keep the competitive position and satisfy their customer throughout Indonesia. The following findings would provide a benchmark, which would then be of use to other manufacturing and distribution-based companies on how to shape their special rational strategies.
