Abstract

Urbanization is seen as having a big role in changing people's attitudes. This happens because during the urbanization period, rural communities experience a transition in behavior, culture, and even religion in the environment where they live. The real problem that occurs in people who have done a lot of urbanization is the loss of their local identity. The tradition that has been followed by the community before urbanization has undergone changes after urbanization. The purpose of writing this article is to examine how the urbanization that is mostly carried out by the people of Tumpukan Village towards the harmonization of inter-religious communities. This research belongs to the descriptive qualitative type using a direct action approach using interviews, recording, and data analysis from local village officials. The results of this study found that the people of Tumpukan Village, despite their different religions, still uphold tribal and kinship loyalty. Their mutual cooperation was evident during the pandemic when many people died from various religions. Those who help with the funeral process view the victims of covid-19 as human beings regardless of their religion. In other words, although there is a lot of urbanization in Tumpukan Village, their sense of gotong royong and locality are not lost. In addition, the village community still adheres to the beliefs inherited from their ancestors as local wisdom that must be maintained regardless of their religion.

Abstract

When da'wah is practiced by an individual or a group of community members, the consequence is always acceptance or rejection. The problem of da'wah of the Majelis Tafsir Alquran (MTA) Surakarta and its branches and representatives in Indonesia is criticism, blasphemy, rejection, and acceptance of these activities and movements. The most serious resistance emerges from groups upholding regional religious and cultural traditions, despite this strong opposition, MTA also grows widespread in areas where people find a match for their fresh perspectives. The objective of this study is to determine how a da'wah institution can develop and establish several branches and representatives in a short period of time yet remain accepted by the community. In this study, primary and secondary data sources were interviews and direct field observation. To obtain a balanced view of the interpretation over MTA's religious social movement acceptance and resistance, the descriptive qualitative analysis research typology was used. The findings revealed that several factors, including leadership, da'wah attitudes and methods, the competence and abilities of da'wah actors, and acceptance and ideological differences among da'wah targets, contribute to MTA's resistance and acceptance of its da'wah.

Abstract

This study investigated four moderate indicators coined by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (M0RA) among Muslim students. This study is essential because the MoRA has claimed moderation in its institution, but it has been questioned whether Muslim students studying at Islamic universities have implemented the practice. This article is the result of research with a qualitative approach conducted by conducting interviews with 36 students studying at three Islamic universities in Malang using purposive sampling. It has two focuses: 1) students' religious understanding and practice related to the four moderate indicators of the MoRA; and 2) the cause of the articulation of moderation, which leads to the implication of how to build moderate thoughts in students. The result of the study shows that there are differences in religious understanding and practice regarding the four moderate indicators of the MoRA. Indicators that have problems are tolerance and anti-violence in the intra-religious area, especially among minority sects. Meanwhile, two other indicators, namely national commitment and accommodativeness to local culture, appear to be in a safe area. The study also finds that "problematic" students were from social-humanities and religious study programs. Second, there are many reasons for the emergence of moderation among students, ranging from family background to the organization they are involved in. Thus, the authors present internalization and normalization as means of building moderate thoughts and attitudes in students.

Abstract

As we know, animation or cartooning is one of the most effective media to convey a message to children. It's the same with the Upin and Ipin series. This product from the neighboring country turns out to be not only entertaining but also implies a message and a mandate. Islam has taught that each of us is a brother and must remind each other of goodness. Upin and Ipin may be one of the media for da'wah if it can be easily conveyed, especially for children who are not yet baligh. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the animated series Upin and Ipin on the life of the Muslim religion for children because, more or less, television and the programs contained in it help children grow and develop. Through library studies based on several references and accompanied by surveys, Upin and Ipin turned out to have a good influence. They feel there is a moral message related to religion in the series.

The purpose of this study is to analyze semiotics in Habib Ja'far's Youtube content on interreligious dialogue. This research is qualitative and employs digital technology. The approach used in this study is Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory as a benchmark in analyzing, where the theory uses triadic and can also rely more on trichotomy in understanding and analyzing problems, as for this research as follows: representation (sign), object, and interpretant (interpretation). The focus of this research is on representations with objects, where icons, symbols, and indexes are used as material for analysis to explore transformative tolerance education in interreligious dialogue content on Habib Ja'far's YouTube Channel under the name Jeda Nulis. Interreligious dialogue, which is a two-way conversation between religious leaders, reflects mutual respect, openness, knowing and understanding the values of each other's religions, and seeking common ground in diversity. Through interreligious dialogue, it becomes a mirror of the beauty of harmony in diversity.

As a country with a majority Muslim population, it is alleged that the level of understanding of the Indonesian Muslim community towards the verses of the Qur'an is low. The religiosity potential of people who have strong religious beliefs has not been utilized as a means of socializing the urgency of exclusive breastfeeding. One of the districts in Yogyakarta (Kulonprogo), has a high stunting rate in children, as a result of a lack of intake of breast milk in infants. This article aims to show the form of understanding of Yogyakarta Muslim mothers towards the verses of breastfeeding in the Qur'an and the factors of understanding these verses. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Participants in the study consisted of 90 people, namely breastfeeding mothers in the districts of Sleman, Bantul, Kulonprogo, Gunung Kidul), and the city of Yogyakarta. The case study approach used data analysis. The low understanding of mothers about the commands and benefits of breastfeeding in the Qur'an has been caused by the low role of religious scholars/resources in bringing up the topic of breastfeeding commands, breastfeeding is part of worship in the Qur'an. This research has provided a new perspective in breastfeeding research that has so far been seen from a health perspective. This research seeks to combine health and religious approaches in understanding the benefits of breastfeeding. This paper recommends that it is necessary to optimize the role of Islamic scholars in studying the command to breastfeed in the Qur'an.
