Abstract

Waste is the result of discarded unused materials which generally come from human activities. The rapid development in the tourism sector, especially at Elak-elak Beach, Sekotong, West Nusa Tenggara, has made the waste problem quite crucial. The aim of this beach clean movement activity is a form of community service to reduce the amount of rubbish on Elak-elak beach, so that it can preserve the environment and increase its attraction for tourists. The method used begins with location observations followed by the implementation of beach clean-up activities. The total number of participants who participated in this activity was 116 people. This activity succeeded in collecting various kinds of waste, ranging from organic and inorganic waste, where organic waste consisted of leaves and tree twigs. Meanwhile, inorganic waste is dominated by plastic waste such as cans, mineral water bottles, straws, plastic food wrap and styrofoam. A survey was also conducted on several tourist visitors regarding waste, where basically the visitors had a good understanding of waste. The beach clean movement activity ends with collecting the resulting rubbish which will then be transported to the landfill. The beach clean movement is a form of concern for environmental management. It is hoped that the activity can help raise awareness and raise people's sense of concern for the cleanliness and sustainability of the environment, especially beaches. Further service activities can be carried out by providing assistance and training to coastal communities.

Abstract

The background of this of using plastic for food packaging. Materials classified as plasticizers include types such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and bisphenol-A (BPA), with Styrofoam also falling into the category of plastics often used for food containers despite their adverse effects. High school Agribusiness Dangau Datuk Bengkulu possesses skills in food production, maintenance, and distribution, yielding processed foods such as ice cream, ground coffee, and various other products. Vocational students market their processed products using plastic packaging. Therefore, the aim of this initiative is to impart knowledge on the use of plastic packaging in food products and its effects on health and the environment. This endeavor can enhance community abilities, particularly those of vocational students who have filled out questionnaires, numbering around 20 people. The activities are conducted through coaching methods, which involve coordination with partners, counseling, demonstrations, and promoting sustainability. Counseling materials encompass the functions of packaging for food products, types of packaging, plastic as a food product packager (including types and raw materials), the impact of using plastic packaging on health and the environment, and tips for safely utilizing plastic packaging. The educational activities proceeded smoothly, with enthusiastic participation from the attendees. The evaluation results indicated a positive and beneficial impact, ensuring that all participants acquired knowledge about the use of plastic packaging. Consequently, participants are now equipped to select appropriate packaging for the food products they produce.

Abstract

This activity was motivated by the unsatisfactory learning outcomes of students in science subjects, because students were not able to maximize the learning process. Lack of references in learning, lack of tools or media in learning, and the fact that students tend to understand learning using audio-visual better are the main factors. It is hoped that the Canva-based digital animation learning media can help teachers and students understand the solar system material. The research method used is the Borg & Gall development model with modifications to several aspects according to Utomo, Muslimin, and Darsikin, which include the preliminary study stage, product development stage, product validation stage, field trial stage and final product revision. Based on the research results, the development of Canva-based Digital Animation Learning Media in the Science Subject Solar System Material for Class VI was declared valid and practical with media expert validation results having a score of 46 with a percentage of 92%. The results of material expert validation obtained an overall score of 43 with a percentage of 86%. The results of learning practitioners obtained a total score of 48 with a percentage of 96%. And the assessment of science learning media with Canva-based digital animation resulted in an overall score of 1206 with a percentage of 86.14%. Based on this, the learning media developed is valid and practical for use in learning.

Abstract

This study examines the lack of collaboration and student participation in learning, as well as their reluctance to share ideas. A descriptive qualitative method was chosen, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research aims to describe the application of the STAD Learning Model in the IPAS subject for fourth grade at SD Namira Kraksaan Probolinggo, focusing on the model's implementation, IPAS learning with the STAD model, and supporting and inhibiting factors. The findings indicate that the STAD Model is implemented through: material information, group formation, group and individual tests, evaluation, and reward provision. The results show that the STAD model has been used before the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. The main factors supporting and hindering are the teachers' understanding of the model, classroom management, infrastructure, student enthusiasm, and their understanding of STAD. The application of this model has increased cooperation, learning enthusiasm, and students' confidence in expressing opinions

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality of the taklim assembly through management assistance carried out in Carikan Hamlet, Ringinanom Village, Tempuran District. The object or target of this service activity is the 40 women members of the Taklim Council in Carikan Hamlet, Ringinanom Village, Tempuran District. The stages carried out in this service activity are preparation, program implementation and evaluation. The mentoring activities carried out can improve the quality of the Taklim Council in Carikan Hamlet, Ringinanom Village, Tempuran District. Mentoring is not only a process of providing direct assistance or direction, but also forming active collaboration between the mentoring team and the Taklim Council management. More than just providing instant solutions, mentoring aims to strengthen the internal capacity of the Taklim Council so that they can be independent in managing activities and overcoming challenges that may arise in the future.

Abstract

The very dense settlement of Midang Hamlet leaves a narrow area of ​​land along the edge of the irrigation canal, which is more often referred to by residents as Kali Midang. This narrow land has the potential to meet food needs, improve community nutrition, source plant diversity and create an optimal living environment around the household. The potential of this narrow land can be utilized by optimizing the cultivation of a variety of plants by forming a living stall. The aim of this service activity is; 1) utilize the narrow land at the edge of the river to become a food stall for residents to support food security, and 2) increase the knowledge of the community, especially the youth of Midang hamlet, about plant cultivation techniques on limited land. The method used in this service activity is the participatory action method where Midang youth are directly involved in each activity. The stages in this activity start from the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. The Midang Hijau movement which was carried out in Midang Hamlet RT 02 ran smoothly and had a positive impact on the residents. Residents are quite interested and enthusiastic in participating in every activity process. Midang Hijau is a trigger for the residents of Midang Hamlet to utilize small land, not only land on the edge of the river but also at home or in other small areas of land that have not been utilized optimally by planting vegetables and kitchen spices for daily needs so that residents can create a living stall. to support daily kitchen needs.

Abstract

One of the most striking natural attractions in the Sembalun Lawang area is the strawberry garden which is a tourist attraction. The abundant agricultural produce of strawberries has not been utilized by local residents to become a processed product that adds economic value. Strawberry processing is also useful for increasing the shelf life of the product. Strawberries can be processed into strawberry jam and used in making mochi snacks. The aim of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the Sembalun Lawang Village community in processing strawberries into strawberry jam. This activity is also an effort to increase the added value of strawberries and the selling price of strawberries during the main harvest and the high level of damage to strawberries due to the short shelf life. Socialization and training was carried out on January 24 2024 in Sembalun Lawang Village, East Lombok, involving PKK members, Karang Taruna, Strawberry Farmers, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Socialization was carried out using lecture and discussion methods, while training was carried out by demonstration and making strawberry jam directly by participants. Community service activities are carried out by the Unram community service team from several faculties. The resource for socialization and training is a lecturer at the Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry, University of Mataram. Socialization and training activities went smoothly. Participants were very enthusiastic about taking part in the activity as shown by the many questions asked regarding techniques for making strawberry jam, shelf life, information that must be written on the label and so on. The large number of participants who attended also showed the public's high interest in knowing how to process strawberries into strawberries and making strawberry jam. The conclusion that can be drawn is that there has been an increase in the knowledge and skills of the Sembalun Lawang Village community regarding processing strawberries into strawberry jam.

Abstract

Stunting in children under five years old is the most common nutritional problem in Indonesia, namely around 30.8%. Stunting is characterized by a body height that is shorter than the average height of children in the same age. The high number cases of stunted toddlers has become a concern for the Government, where various efforts have been made to reduce the stunting rate, one of which is through socialization. Based on the results of location survey, Awang Preparation Village, in Central Lombok Regency has never received stunting socialization, so there are still many people who don't know about stunting and the benefits of fish nutrition to prevent stunting itself. The method for this activity is socialization which consists of 2 stages, namely 1) preparation which includes material preparation and timing, and 2) implementation, namely the ongoing socialization activity. This activity was attended by a total of 29 participants from among women consisting of housewives and teenagers. The results obtained after the socialization activities were that participants had a better understanding of what stunting is and how to prevent it. Apart from that, participants also know what the nutritional content of fish is so that it can be a solution to prevent stunting. Increasing maternal knowledge and awareness of the dangers of stunting can be an early indicator of a decline in stunting cases.

Abstract

Tulang belakang manusia, juga dikenal sebagai columna vertebralis, adalah struktur penting yang memberikan dukungan struktural, perlindungan bagi sistem saraf pusat, dan memungkinkan gerakan tubuh yang kompleks. Tulang belakang terdiri dari serangkaian vertebra yang membentang dari pangkal tengkorak hingga panggul, dengan fungsi kritis dalam menjaga postur tubuh, mendistribusikan berat badan, dan memfasilitasi gerakan. Pembuatan tulang belakang dari bahan gabus melibatkan penelitian mendalam terhadap karakteristik material, pengembangan formulasi yang dioptimalkan, dan rekayasa proses untuk mencapai solusi yang efektif dan inovatif. Pemanfaatan gabus sebagai bahan dasar menawarkan potensi untuk menghasilkan tulang belakang yang ringan, kuat, dan biokompatibel. Langkah-langkah rekayasa proses dan evaluasi klinis diperlukan untuk memastikan keberhasilan dan keamanan aplikasi bahan gabus dalam pembuatan tulang belakang manusia. Dalam konteks medis, pemahaman yang mendalam tentang struktur dan fungsi tulang belakang penting untuk diagnosis dan penanganan kelainan tulang belakang serta pengembangan teknologi medis yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The people of Tibu Lilin Hamlet are a hamlet located in the hills south of Gumise Hamlet and located just to the north of Selamat Harbor. Along the village road are steep hillsides that have been used as villages, so the topography of this hamlet is very irregular. The community's water source during the rainy season comes from springs around the village in the form of water from springs, well water and seepage water from rock fragments on existing hillside cliffs. Meanwhile, during the dry season, most of the water sources dry up and only one or two locations have water with very minimal potential. Water shortages during the dry season are met by buying water from collectors who transport it by truck or tanker to Tibu Lilin Hamlet. Therefore, this service aims to educate the community about how to utilize limited water sources around the hills to help provide community water. The service was carried out in the stages of location coordination, location survey, outreach activities, discussion and question and answer as well as evaluation. Counseling was provided in the form of water storage methods, water storage tank methods and ways of managing water sources in mutual cooperation. This service has succeeded in providing the Tibu Lilin community with knowledge about water sources, how to collect water and manage water sources together. The community has been shown how to make water reservoirs and how to make pipe networks to channel water to the hamlet.
