Abstract

Numerous students faced challenges related to specific concepts, deeming it essential to seek supplementary guidance for the successful completion of their mandatory final semester projects within the Integrated Project Course. This need arose early in the project development phase, and these individuals consistently encountered difficulties in bringing their projects to fruition. The challenges stemmed from the intricate nature of the course material and the inadequacy of suitable guidance. As a result, some students occasionally delivered incomplete and below-par project outcomes. Consequently, this research endeavors to enhance students' final semester project performance by employing collaborative learning methods and integrating an Open Artificial Intelligence Chatbot as interventions. The study was conducted during the session II  2022/2023 in the Department of Information and Communication Technology at Polytechnic Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, involving 12 students enrolled in the Integrated Project Course and receive score mark below five during their Demonstration One presentation session. Data collection included rubric scores and reflective journals, which were analyzed based on rubric percentages before and after the intervention. The findings of the study indicated an improvement in rubric scores before and after the intervention, signifying an enhancement in students' project-related performance. Additionally, the reflective journal provided insights into the students' learning experiences with both interventions. This research contributes to educators' comprehension of effective methods for elevating students' performance in Integrated Project Course by leveraging contemporary technologies and approaches. Future research initiatives could further diversify teaching and learning methods in Integrated Project through the organization of workshops specifically addressing current technology and knowledge pertinent to the development of final semester projects.

Abstract

The increasing integration of social media into daily lives of individuals has raised significant concerns about data privacy. As users actively engage with various platforms, the extent to which they are aware of the privacy implications and their comfort levels with the use of personal data become vital issues. This study aimed to identify social media platforms that are often used by students, their level of awareness towards social media data privacy policy and their comfortability towards data privacy by social media companies. The respondents in this study comprises of 106 male and female students. The data are analyzed descriptively by mean, frequency and percentage. The level of awareness towards social media data privacy policy is high with average mean score 3.94, WhatsApp is the often-surfed social media platform by score of 89.62% and most students were highly comfortable with how educational social media platform used their data with mean 3.85. This study proposes the necessity of a diverse approach involving education, user empowerment, and technological advancements to enhance data privacy awareness and comfort levels among students in the realm of social media and prepare to a more secure and responsible online environment for the next generation users

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing the RME approach on students' mathematical connection abilities. The type of research used is quantitative research with pre-experimental designs (Nondesigns) research. The population in this study were class IX students of SMP IT Ummul Qura Panton Labu, North Aceh with a sample of 20 students in class IX. The data collection technique used in this research is a mathematical connection ability test divided into pretest and posttest. The analysis techniques used include normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis testing using the t test, and correlation tests. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24. The results concluded that there was an influence of applying the RME approach to students' mathematical connection abilities. This is also supported by descriptive data which shows the average posttest score is higher than the average pretest score. Furthermore, the results of the correlation test analysis show a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 which states that there is a correlation and the Pearson correlations value = 0.664 which is included in the strong category and the direction of the relationship is positive.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling is an effort carried out in the process of alleviating student problems, one of which is learning problems. The guidance counseling process can be carried out with several services. In public schools, there are several models of counseling services that are implemented, such as group services, consultation services, information services, behavioral counseling services, and others. The aim of this research is to find out what models of counseling services are implemented in Islamic boarding schools for students. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which is a way of identifying, evaluating and interpreting all available research that is relevant to the problem formulation or topic area under study. Research results show that in Islamic boarding schools there are four models of counseling services implemented, the four services include group counseling services, classical guidance services, individual counseling services, model fan counseling

Abstract

This research aims to develop CTL-based LKPD on trigonometry material using Canva. This research uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The instrument used is an independent guide according to the textbook which provides special instructions to help students complete the stages in the trigonometrical function. The product feasibility test stage was carried out by three experts, namely material experts, media experts and design experts. The results of this development show that the product validity value is in the valid category and the practicality value in the very practical category. So it can be concluded that the LKPD developed with the CTL stage using the Canva application is valid and very practical so it is suitable to be used as teaching material to help students understand the material regarding trigonometric functions.

Abstract

The educational efforts in Indonesia, including Islamic boarding schools, in religious culture have become a formidable challenge. The Islamic Boarding School of Bustanul Arifin and Nurul Islam already have distinctive religious cultures through the programs developed in Islamic Boarding Schools. This study aims to determine the program of religious culture and the implementation of religious culture. This study uses a descriptive-comparative method. The data collection was obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis is used by inductive analysis. The data were analyzed using the Bourdieu habitus approach. The research results are as follows: First, the culture at the Islamic boarding school of Bustanul Arifin is moral, salaf culture, santri discipline culture, and Sanadan culture. The Islamic boarding school of Nurul Islam has a moral culture, clean culture, language culture, ubudiyah culture, and annual culture. Second, the implementation of religious culture at the Islamic boarding school of Bustanul Arifin is a moral culture by developing respect and honouring teachers, efforts to serve students, the mandatory wearing of hats, salaf culture with the development of sorogan culture, deliberation, memorizing of nahwu Sharaf, Malay Arabic, student discipline culture by using audio speakers, ceremonies and cults, the culture of Sanadan with a reading of musalsal hadiths. The implementation of religious culture in the Islamic boarding school of Nurul Islam is a moral culture using teacher advice, clean culture utilizing the development of room pickets, rayon pickets, and clean Fridays, language culture using Arabic and English language (muhadatsah, picket Bawab), ubudiyah culture using tajhiz mayit, the assignment of a preacher, obligatory memorization (short verses and prayers), annual culture uses khutbatul arsyi, tadris amaliyah, and community service practices.

Abstract

This article explores the application of Islamic communication in higher education learning, focusing on three main aspects: communicator, message, and media. Through a literature review with a qualitative approach, it was found that lecturers, as communicators, are not only in charge of teaching, but also act as role models in applying Islamic principles when interacting with students. The material or message conveyed in learning must adopt Islamic teachings and values, in order to form good morals in students. Learning media must also be carefully selected to ensure that the content presented supports the delivery of Islamic messages and is in line with Islamic teachings. Overall, the application of Islamic communication in higher education learning can not only improve the effectiveness of the learning process, but also contribute to the achievement of comprehensive Islamic education goals. In conclusion, the integration of Islamic communication is essential in shaping graduates who excel academically and have high moral and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the use of natural materials to develop artistic creativity in early childhood at Al-Muna Kindergarten. Natural materials are often found in the surrounding environment so they can develop artistic creativity in young children. Artistic creativity can easily be increased in children by utilizing natural materials found in the child's surroundings. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use observation and interview techniques. The subjects of this research were group A teachers and children from Al-muna Kindergarten consisting of 12 children in group A of Al-muna Kindergarten, namely 8 boys and 4 girls. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that using natural materials is very good for developing children's creativity, because they are easy to find in the surrounding environment and children can be creative with natural materials in their environment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the factors that support and hinder students' reading interest, as well as to find out strategies that can increase students' reading interest.  This study aims to understand how library management influences the reading culture among students, as well as the benefits of implementing library management for students. This research uses a literature review method, which is a systematic approach to collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing literature relevant to the topic of library management and its impact on student literacy. The research results show that maintenance and care of library materials influences students' reading interest. Therefore, the library organizational structure needs to manage the contents of the library, such as classifying each book and arranging the books neatly, as well as caring for and maintaining the books so that they remain suitable for reading. Furthermore, the literacy movement in schools does not only involve reading and writing, but also includes thinking skills according to the stages and components of literacy.

Abstract

The community's role to improving the quality of education is still weak. MPD with supervisory duties must assist community participation through school committees. This study aims to analyze the management of the Regional Education Council (MPD) and the role of the community in improving the quality of education in Bener Meriah. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques in the study include interviews, documents, and observations. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of this study show that MPD management involves the role of the community in improving the quality of education in Bener Meriah, which consists of planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation management. The management of MPD in involving the community is going well, even though at the level of implementation and execution of activities by the committee is slow, because the function of MPD is limited to mentoring, not execution.
