Abstract

The fisheries and marine sectors are among the potential sectors that Indonesia possesses. Fishermen, as theprimary drivers of the maritime field, play an important role in the country's economy. As a sovereign nation, thegovernment is expected to ensure and protect the safety of fishermen, particularly traditional fishermen who carry outfishing activities in Indonesian territorial waters. However, there are still many issues encountered in the field. One of themis the violation of fishing zones by traditional fishing vessels. With the numerous cases of fishing zone violations occurring,at least two main factors contribute to these violations: the lack of information regarding the permitted fishing zones thatare still within Indonesia's territorial waters and the limited availability of navigation tools such as GPS and AIS, whichmany fishermen do not possess, preventing them from accurately knowing their position while fishing and whether theyhave exited the permitted zones. A fishing zone violation monitoring system is greatly needed to provide solutions to thisproblem. This study aims to design a monitoring system for fishing zone violations by traditional fishing vessels usingLoraWAN technology as a communication device. The designed system will automatically provide early warnings fromthe Lora-Gateway to traditional fishermen who are fishing outside the designated zones through the Lora-Transponderdevice installed on the fishing vessels. The system will monitor every movement of vessels violating the fishing zone byutilizing the mapping data of Fishing Zone coordinates, stored in a real-time coordinate database. The monitoring systemwill also automatically send notifications as an early warning system if there are traditional fishing vessels that exit thelegally established fishing zones by the government, referring to Indonesia's Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEE) of 200nautical miles from the baseline coast. With this real-time monitoring system, it is expected to assist government agenciesand stakeholders in monitoring the fishing activities of traditional fishing vessels, especially in the Malacca Strait region.

Abstract

This study examines the internal factors influencing students' interest in choosing the Digital Business studyprogram at Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis. The research aims to identify which internal factors significantly impactstudents' decisions, determine the most dominant factors, and assess the factors with minimal influence. The studyemployed a survey method using questionnaires to collect data from students enrolled in the Digital Business program.Correlation and regression analyses, supported by statistical software, were used to analyze the data. The results revealthat Preference and Learning Method are the most influential internal factors, exerting the strongest impact on students'decision-making. Interest also plays a role, though less significant. Other factors, such as Attention, Willingness,Talent, Health, and Motivation, show minimal or no significant influence, with Attention and Willingness havingnegative coefficients. The regression model's confirms that the independent variables collectively influence students'interest, and the model indicates that 36.8% of the variance in interest is explained by the internal factors. Based onthe findings, it is recommended that the Digital Business program align its curriculum and teaching methods withstudents' preferences and create a student-centered learning environment to better attract and retain students.

Abstract

Bleaching Earth is a material used to refine palm oil to make it brighter in color as we currently consume. However, due to this, the accumulation of Bleaching Earth is increasingly uncontrolled and continues to accumulate.Previously, this research had been carried out but had not found a major impact on concrete durability. Especially incoastal areas which are often exposed to high chloride ions and have the potential to damage concrete. This research aimsto create a material that can modify the properties of concrete to have better durability by modifying Spent BleachingEarth using seashells. This research uses a cylinder measuring 150 x 300 mm with a various admixture. In this research, 3(three) stabilization fraction models were tried, namely Fraction A with 60% SBE and 40% Seashells, fraction B with50% SBE and 50% Seashells, and fraction C with 40% SBE and 60% Seashells. The research showed that fraction Bshowed compressive strength reaching 22,85 MPa and Fraction C showed compressive strength up to 29,44 MPa at 28days. Meanwhile, Fraction A experienced a decrease in compressive strength, reaching only 20,64 MPa compared tonormal concrete of 21,90 MPa at 28 days. This could be caused by many things, so further research is needed regardingthe stabilization of these two materials. Based on the research, it can be concluded that Fraction C can be arecommendation because it has higher strength than other fractions and needs to be tested in aggressive environments, especially in coastal areas

Abstract

Neural networks or other artificial intelligence methods have developed rapidly over the past four decades. Itsuse in various fields makes many people compete to develop it further. One of the applications of artificial intelligence isan automatic door opening and closing system. This development can provide many advantages for users, one of which isthat there is no need to make direct contact with the door handle. Armed with a capable PC and an esp32 microcontroller, the system works by detecting images of user facial expressions approaching the object using a webcam. If the requiredinput matches the system rules, the motor will move to open the door. By using convolutional neural network technique, the system can classify the image quickly. Several expressions such as angry, disgusted, scared, happy, sad, surprised, andnormal can be the door-opening key of the system. The user can select one to use as the input key to drive the motor toopen the door. The study outcomes for several predetermined facial expressions yielded an accuracy rate of 60% and adetection time of under 4 seconds. The detectable distance extends to ± 2 meters. Further study could enable thedevelopment of this autonomous door with an IoT-based system for enhanced efficiency. Hopefully, this research caninfluence the development of intelligent building systems and other fields of artificial intelligence technology.
