Abstract

Free radicals are reactive oxygen compounds that are known to be compounds that have free or unpaired electrons. Free radicals will look for new partners so that they will easily bind to other substances such as proteins, fats, and DNA in the body, resulting in cell damage and causing various degenerative diseases. To overcome the negative effects of free radicals, a substance that acts as an antioxidant is needed. Sonneratia Ovata or often called pedada by coastal communities is often used to treat various diseases including diabetes, ulcers, analgesic diarrhea, inflammation, pain and accelerate wound healing. This study aims to examine the levels of flavonoid compounds in the ethanol extract of S. ovata leaves using the colorimetric method and antioxidant activity using the ABTS method (2,2 azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazolin-6- sulfonic acid) and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) on the ethanol extract of S. ovata leaves. The research process began with the extraction of S. ovata leaves with 96% ethanol, followed by determination of total flavonoid levels and antioxidant testing. From the results of the determination of total flavonoid levels, it was found that the ethanol extract of S. ovata leaves had a flavonoid content of 38,248 ± 0.142 mgQE/gram. In measuring antioxidant activity using the DPPH and ABTS methods, the IC50 values were 31.785 ± 0.047 ppm and 28.303 ± 0.558 ppm, respectively. Based on these results, the ethanol extract of S. ovata provided very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of less than 50 ppm.

Abstract

The research paper examines the interplay between service quality, emotional value, and tourist loyalty within the tourism sector, which significantly contributes to the global economy. Utilising Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) for data analysis, the study involved 100 respondents who visited Kebumen's Menganti Beach. Findings reveal that service quality positively influences emotional value, which in turn significantly affects tourist loyalty. Specifically, 60.6% of tourist loyalty can be attributed to both service quality and emotional value. The research underscores that high-quality service enhances emotional experiences, fostering stronger connections between tourists and destinations, thereby promoting repeat visits. The study concludes that emotional value is a vital yet often neglected factor in developing strategies to enhance tourist loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer behavior related to the increase in rice prices after the 2024 election in Surakarta City. The increase in rice prices is often an important issue in the context of the household economy, especially for consumers in urban areas such as Surakarta. Data of this study was obtained by a survey method that includes a quantitative approach from a sample of households in various sub-districts in Surakarta City. Through the analysis of the data obtained, this study explores the impact of rising rice prices on consumption patterns, changes in household budgets, and adaptation strategies implemented by consumers. The study's conclusions demonstrate that consumer spending patterns are not considerably impacted by the rise in rice prices following the election. In addition, the economic impact of the increase in rice prices also causes changes in household budget allocations, where consumers tend to prioritize spending on other basic needs. This study provides insight into how changes in food prices affect the economic well-being of households and provides recommendations for policymakers to consider interventions that can mitigate the negative impact of food price fluctuations

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factor that cause market failure at Mantri Melon Farm Agritourism and identify effective market risk management efforts. Mantri Melon Farm, as an agritourism destination that relies on hydroponic melon production, faces significant challenges in maintaining its market share. Through a qualitative approach, data was collected from interviews with the owner Mantri Melon, farmers and Mantri Melon employees. This research was conducted in May-June at Mantri Melon Farm Agrotourism. The results show that the main factor of market failure is asymmetric information. Efforts to overcome this are suggested with empowerment through education and increased literacy to have more equal access to information related to relevant issues, so that they are better able to make the right decisions, improve product quality, and maintain good relations with the market. The implementation of these strategies is expected to minimize market risk and ensure the sustainability of Mantri Melon Farm's business.
