Abstract

The development of digital technology related to the curriculum, previously rooted in the logic of the industrial era, tends to emphasize standardization, linearity, and knowledge transmission, making it less relevant in facing the complexity and dynamics of the digital ecosystem. This study aims to reconstruct the curriculum paradigm in the context of the digital ecosystem through an evolutionary analysis of education from the industrial era to the digital era, using qualitative methods whose data collection is obtained from the latest and relevant scientific literature. Data analysis is carried out through stages of reduction, thematic categorization, and conceptual synthesis to identify shifts in the curriculum paradigm and their implications for educational practice. The results of the study indicate that the reconstruction of the curriculum paradigm in the digital ecosystem requires systemic changes, encompassing epistemological, pedagogical, and structural dimensions. The curriculum needs to be directed at the development of 21st-century competencies, learner-centered learning, and authentic and reflective assessment design. In addition, the role of teachers as learning facilitators and designers of learning experiences is a key factor in the effective implementation of the digital curriculum. This article concludes that an adaptive, contextual, and humanistic curriculum is a primary prerequisite for the sustainability of education in the digital era. These findings are expected to provide theoretical contributions to curriculum studies and serve as a reference for developing educational policies and practices that are responsive to changing times.

Abstract

Personal responsibility is a fundamental aspect in the development of psychologically healthy individuals, because it relates to the individual's ability to make decisions, manage behavior, and bear the consequences of every choice made. Reality counseling, developed by William Glasser, emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility as the core of effective and sustainable behavior change. This study aims to examine how the reality counseling approach can improve the client's personal responsibility through the application of choice theory and WDEP (Want, Doing, Evaluation, Planning) procedures. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various relevant scientific literature sources, both in the form of books and journal articles, related to reality counseling and the concept of personal responsibility. The results of the study show that reality counseling is effective in helping clients develop personal responsibility through the process of making the client aware that behavior is the result of individual choice, evaluating current behavior, developing a realistic plan of action, and building a commitment to implement it. The practical implications of this approach are relevant to be applied in educational, clinical, and community counseling settings to support positive and responsible behavior change.

Abstract

Sociology of education is a field that examines the relationship between education and social life in society, focusing on how educational processes shape students’ character and social behavior. Schools function not only as places to acquire academic knowledge but also as social environments where students learn to interact, cooperate, respect differences, and develop social responsibility. This study aims to understand the role of sociology of education in shaping students’ social awareness within the school context, particularly in fostering empathy, cooperation, and social responsibility. A qualitative research approach was used to explore how learning sociology of education influences students’ attitudes and behaviors. The findings indicate that sociology of education plays an important role in developing students’ social awareness. Through this learning process, students gain a better understanding of social values, norms, and appropriate behavior in society. Teachers and schools contribute significantly by providing role models, building positive habits, and organizing activities that encourage caring attitudes toward others. As a result, schools become spaces not only for intellectual development but also for character formation. Observations at Misalova School show that students demonstrate increased social concern, such as collecting donations and visiting sick friends, providing assistance when school members experience disasters, and actively participating in social activities. In addition, students help one another in learning processes and cooperate in group activities without discrimination. Overall, learning sociology of education helps students develop social awareness, respect diversity, and contribute positively to their school and community environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the counseling service needs at SMPIT Al Mawaddah Warrahmah Kolaka as a foundation for developing guidance and counseling programs that are relevant to students’ characteristics. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, involving counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and students as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and counseling needs questionnaires. The results revealed that students have high counseling needs, particularly in the academic and social aspects, such as difficulties in managing study time, low learning motivation, and social relationship issues within the school environment. The existing counseling services tend to be incidental and reactive, lacking a systematic needs-based assessment. Consequently, the effectiveness of the counseling program in supporting students’ holistic development remains limited. The study recommends the implementation of need-based counseling programs, the enhancement of counselor competencies, and stronger collaboration among subject teachers and homeroom teachers. Therefore, counseling services can function not only as a problem-solving mechanism but also as a means of fostering students’ character and potential development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of teachers’ teaching style on students’ learning achievement at SMP IT Al-Mawaddah Warrahmah Kolaka. Teaching style is considered an important factor in creating an effective learning environment that can encourage students’ academic success. The research employed a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression analysis to examine the relationship between the independent variable, namely teachers’ teaching style, and the dependent variable, students’ learning achievement. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation of students’ academic scores, which were then analyzed statistically to test the proposed hypothesis. The results of the analysis indicate that the correlation coefficient value (R) is 0.931, while the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.867. These findings suggest that teachers’ teaching style contributes significantly to students’ learning achievement. Furthermore, the significance value obtained was 0.001, which is smaller than 0.05, indicating a positive and statistically significant effect. Therefore, it can be concluded that the better and more appropriate the teaching style applied by teachers, the higher the students’ academic achievement. This study highlights the importance of improving teaching strategies to support optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parental satisfaction and educational service quality on the number of new student admissions at SMPIT Al Mawaddah Warrahmah Kolaka. This research employs a quantitative associative approach. The population consists of 120 parents of students in the 2024/2025 academic year, with a sample of 92 respondents selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results show that parental satisfaction and educational service quality simultaneously have a significant effect on new student admissions, as indicated by an F-value of 17.736 with a significance level of 0.001 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.780 indicates that 78% of the variation in new student admissions can be explained by the two variables, while the remaining 22% is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings suggest that higher parental satisfaction and better educational service quality increase the community’s interest in enrolling their children at SMPIT Al Mawaddah Warrahmah Kolaka.
