Abstract

This study examines the urgency of personal branding among teachers, particularly Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers, as a strategic element in strengthening the image and reputation of Islamic educational institutions amid increasingly competitive educational environments. Social changes, advancements in information technology, and rising public expectations regarding educational quality require teachers to function not only as educators in the classroom but also as representatives of institutional values, character, and identity. In this context, teachers’ personal branding becomes an important factor contributing to public trust and institutional attractiveness. This article employs a library research method using a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing various literature sources, including books, scholarly journals, and other relevant publications. The analysis focuses on the concept of personal branding, teacher professionalism, and their relationship to the image of Islamic educational institutions. The findings indicate that the personal branding of IRE teachers, when grounded in professionalism, moral integrity, pedagogical competence, and personal authenticity, plays a significant role in enhancing institutional credibility in the eyes of the public. Teachers who consistently embody Islamic values in their attitudes, personal conduct, and professional practices are more likely to build trust, loyalty, and a positive institutional image. Therefore, strengthening the personal branding of IRE teachers not only contributes to individual professional development but also serves as an important strategy for improving the reputation, competitiveness, and sustainability of Islamic educational institutions in the modern era.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in enhancing intellectual abilities and shaping individuals to become more capable and accomplished. However, the current education system is considered to be too focused on cognitive aspects while neglecting the development of students’ character and moral values, which has led to various social issues. In this regard, the sociology of education emerges as an effort to understand the relationship between education and society, as well as how social, cultural, economic, and historical factors influence the development of students’ character. This study employs a literature review method by examining various written sources such as books, academic journals, and relevant research reports. The findings indicate that the sociology of education plays a significant role in shaping students’ character through the understanding of existing social values, norms, and ethics. Through the theories of functionalism, conflict, and symbolic interactionism, the sociology of education contributes to explaining the role of education in society and how social interactions within the school environment can strengthen the development of positive character. Moreover, teachers as social agents in schools—including principals, homeroom teachers, and special education assistants—have a strategic role in creating an inclusive, adaptive, and character-oriented educational atmosphere. Thus, the sociology of education is not only an academic field but also serves as a tool to shape individuals who are ethical, empathetic, and capable of contributing positively to society.

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role as an agent of social mobility in modern society. From an Indonesian sociological perspective, education serves as the primary means of transmitting the values, skills, and competencies needed in an increasingly complex social structure, as argued by Soerjono Soekanto. By expanding access to education, improving the quality of learning, and adapting the curriculum to the demands of the job market, education can open up opportunities for individuals to improve their socioeconomic status. Indonesian educational literature, emphasizes that educational institutions not only shape character but also serve as a meritocratic mechanism that enables vertical social mobility. However, the challenges of the modern era including unequal access, the digital divide, and the mismatch between graduate competencies and industry needs still limit the optimization of education as a driver of social mobility. Therefore, comprehensive educational reform is needed through equalizing quality, strengthening technological innovation, and collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the industrial world. With these steps, education can play a more effective role in realizing a more equitable social structure and more inclusive social mobility.

Abstract

Repeated lateness in higher education is often regarded as a minor habit, even though it has serious implications for students’ academic integrity and learning ethic. This study aims to analyze the effect of repeated lateness on academic integrity and students’ learning ethic. A mixed-methods approach was employed, consisting of quantitative and qualitative stages. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires measuring the frequency of lateness, time management, learning motivation, and academic integrity. Qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with students and lecturers. The findings reveal a significant negative relationship between the frequency of lateness and students’ learning ethic. Students who are frequently late tend to show lower learning motivation, minimal classroom engagement, and weaker study consistency. Repeated lateness is also associated with a decline in academic integrity, reflected in neglecting deadlines, low responsibility in group work, and a growing tendency to seek instant solutions in learning. The causes of repeated lateness are influenced by internal factors, such as poor time management and low motivation, as well as external factors, including part-time work and transportation conditions. This study emphasizes the importance of institutional policies to promote a culture of punctuality in order to strengthen academic integrity and students’ learning ethic.

Abstract

History learning plays a crucial role in fostering historical awareness, fostering national character, and enhancing students' critical thinking skills. However, the history learning process in schools is often oriented toward memorization and the presentation of facts, rendering it less meaningful for students. The 21st century demands that teachers be innovative in designing active, collaborative, and real-life learning. This article aims to describe history teachers' strategies for designing meaningful learning in accordance with the demands of 21st-century competencies. The method used is a literature study, examining various theories, research findings, and the latest educational policies. The study results indicate that strategies teachers can implement include analyzing student characteristics, implementing innovative learning models such as Project-Based Learning and Inquiry Learning, utilizing digital technologies such as Augmented Reality and virtual museum tours, and implementing authentic project-based assessments. Through these strategies, teachers can create engaging, contextual, and meaningful history learning experiences, while simultaneously fostering students' historical thinking skills and national values in the digital era.

Abstract

Indonesia is highly vulnerable to natural disasters due to its position along the Pacific Ring of Fire and its complex geographical landscape. This condition underscores the importance of introducing disaster mitigation education from the elementary school level. Social Studies serves as a strategic subject for cultivating students’ environmental awareness, social responsibility, and disaster preparedness. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine how disaster mitigation has been integrated into Social Studies learning in Indonesian elementary schools. Following PRISMA procedures and Kitchenham’s methodological framework, relevant studies published between 2020 and 2025 were identified and thematically analyzed. The review reveals that contextual, experiential, and realistic learning approaches such as simulations and field observations are most frequently implemented. The use of visual and digital media, including comics, digital booklets, and animated videos, effectively enhances students’ understanding, motivation, and preparedness. Despite these positive outcomes, challenges remain in terms of limited facilities and teacher readiness. The study recommends continuous teacher professional development and the systematic inclusion of disaster mitigation within the Social Studies curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the principles of good governance are applied in village administration and their role in supporting Patik Village in becoming an Independent Village. The study uses a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results show that the participation, accountability, and responsiveness of the village government have been effective. Community participation is evident from the active involvement of residents in deliberations and cooperation in road construction. Accountability is reflected in the submission of village reports, while the responsiveness of the village government is evident in its swift action to repair agricultural infrastructure, which has a direct impact on the economic efficiency of farmers. However, transparency is still not optimal due to the village information system (SID) not yet being fully operational digitally. In addition, field results show that strengthening ecological resilience through piping, construction of infiltration wells, and utilization of the Pakel Reservoir also contributes to the sustainability of the village environment. Thus, the implementation of good governance supports the strengthening of social, economic, and ecological resilience as the main pillars of the Village Development Index (IDM), and is an important foundation for Patik Village's achievement of becoming an Independent Village.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine various forms of common mistakes that parents often make in parenting, identify the factors causing these mistakes, analyze their negative impacts on children's physical, emotional, social, and moral development, and formulate strategies and practical solutions for improving parenting more effectively and positively. Problems with wrong parenting, such as inconsistency, over-indulgence, and lack of emotional validation, often occur without parents realizing it, potentially causing long-term psychological and social problems in children. The method used in this writing is a literature review (descriptive-analytical) based on the results of writing in the working area of Ulee Kareng Health Center and data from BPS (2024), as well as a review of theories of child development and parenting. The results of the study show that inappropriate parenting errors have significant impacts, such as decreased self-confidence in children, anxiety, difficulty socializing, and lack of independence, all of which emphasize the importance of responsive and consistent parenting. Therefore, parenting education and the implementation of positive parenting strategies that emphasize open communication, empathy, and consistency are essential to support optimal child growth and development.

Abstract

Cyberbullying poses a serious threat to adolescent mental health in the digital age. This study aims to analyze the psychological impact of cyberbullying and formulate appropriate Guidance and Counseling (BK) interventions through a study of adolescents. Using qualitative methods with documentary study techniques, the results indicate that victims experience severe psychological distress, including anxiety, depression, and social isolation. The main findings of this study confirm that a BK approach based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most relevant intervention to address these psychological impacts. Cognitive restructuring techniques in CBT have proven effective in restoring victims' self-esteem and building empathy for cyberbullying perpetrators. This study also recommends the integration of online cyber-counseling services and the enhancement of school counselors' digital competencies as adaptive responses to adolescent mental health challenges in the digital age. This intervention is expected to provide effective psychological support and promote the recovery of cyberbullying victims.
