Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance production capacity and strengthen the business identity of Putri Tailor Kebaya as a small-scale enterprise in the kebaya garment sector in Denpasar City, Bali. Managed by a female artisan, this business has significant potential due to the high demand for kebaya for traditional, religious, and formal events. However, the partner still faces several challenges, such as limited production equipment, the absence of a business brand identity, and a marketing system that remains relatively simple. This community service program employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, consisting of several stages: identifying the partner’s problems, providing production equipment in the form of a Typical GC628-1 sewing machine, designing product packaging as a branding medium, and conducting product documentation to support business promotion. The results show that the addition of a sewing machine has improved production efficiency and accelerated order completion. Furthermore, packaging design with a clear brand identity has enhanced the business’s professional image and strengthened the competitiveness of kebaya products in the local market

Abstract

Disasters in coastal areas often lead to further health problems, particularly related to clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS), environmental sanitation, and low community preparedness in dealing with post-disaster conditions. This community service activity aims to improve health literacy in coastal communities in Taman Ayu Gerung by involving the TSBD as a local driver. The community service method is carried out in a participatory manner through the stages of preparation, identification of health problems, implementation of health literacy, mentoring health practices, and evaluation. Literacy is provided through interactive lectures, discussions, questions and answers, visual presentations, and simulations of handwashing practices, clean water use, household waste management, and post-disaster first aid. The results of the community service show an increase in participants' understanding of PHBS and handling health problems after a disaster, as well as the formation of an active role of TSBD as peer educators who are able to continue education to other community groups. These findings emphasize the importance of a community-based approach to strengthening the health resilience of coastal communities in a sustainable manner.
