Abstract

Deviant behaviour refers to actions that violate the norms, values of the local culture and society. The study employs a qualitative approach, using interviews, questionnaires, observations, and document analysis to collect data from various stakeholders, including government, tourism associations, tour guides, and foreign tourists. The study finds that tour guides play a crucial role in providing accurate information and education about the destinations and the expected behaviours of tourists. However, many foreign tourists prefer traveling without tour guides due to financial, personal, or informational reasons. The study suggests that the role of tour guides needs to be supported by other parties, such as the government, law enforcement, and the community, to ensure the quality and sustainability of tourism in Bali.

Data were collected through interviews, documentation studies, and questionnaires using the purposive sampling method to 102 respondents, and the data were tabulated, tested for validity and reliability, and processed using the Weight Mean Score method for each event dimension. The results showed that visitor perceptions of the 14th Makardhi job fair got an average score of 3.98 (Good). The highest value was obtained in the anticipation dimension with a value of 4.32 (Very Good), while the lowest values were obtained in the atmosphere (3.64) and amenities (3.62) dimensions, which were included in the "Good" category. These results indicate that visitors greatly appreciate the anticipation aspect, while the atmosphere and amenities aspects need to be improved in quality. Abstract

This study investigates the role of academic supervision in enhancing teachers' pedagogical competence in South Aceh, focusing on the supervision practices of school principals and their impact on teacher development. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis from six participants, including school principals, vice principals, and senior teachers. The findings reveal that effective academic supervision contributes to significant improvements in teaching practices, particularly when feedback and follow-up mechanisms are well-structured. Key themes emerging from the data include supervision planning, pedagogical improvement, challenges in supervision, and follow-up practices. However, the study also highlights several challenges, including time constraints, lack of resources, and insufficient training for principals, which hinder the effectiveness of supervision. Additionally, technological limitations in rural schools exacerbate these challenges. Despite these barriers, participants emphasized the importance of continuous supervision and personalized feedback in driving teacher improvement. This research contributes to the understanding of academic supervision in resource-limited settings, offering practical recommendations for improving the supervision process. These include enhanced training for school leaders, better resource allocation, and the integration of technology into the supervision process. Future research should explore long-term impacts of supervision on teaching outcomes and strategies for overcoming the identified challenges in broader educational contexts.

Abstract

The managerial competence of school principals plays a key role in creating and maintaining a quality culture in schools. In education, a quality culture is the collective commitment of all school members to consistently achieve and maintain high standards. This study aims to describe the implementation of school principals' managerial competence in improving school quality. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was used. The subjects were 5 principals and 20 teachers from public high schools in West Aceh. Data collection techniques included interviews and observations. The study concluded that: 1) Principals involve teachers in school planning and management, fostering an organizational culture through collaboration, good communication, and teacher empowerment. Resources are managed transparently and accountably. Regular supervision ensures effective program implementation. 2) The quality culture is reflected in the principal's role as a manager, creating a conducive learning environment with adequate facilities and enforcing discipline to ensure a high-quality learning atmosphere. 3) Obstacles include limited resources, lack of student interest, maintaining teacher and parent cooperation, time constraints, and low school motivation in implementing a quality culture.
