Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a significant public health issue in tropical regions, including Indonesia. Ledok Village in Salatiga City is one of the endemic areas that shows ongoing proliferation of Aedes aegypti larvae as the primary vector. Although most community members have general awareness of the signs and symptoms of DHF through social media, their understanding of vector control methods, particularly the use of ovitraps, remains low. The purpose of this community engagement activity was to provide education to residents of Ledok Village regarding the signs and symptoms of dengue fever, first aid measures, and preventive efforts, as well as to demonstrate the effective use of ovitraps as a tool to interrupt the life cycle of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The health education was delivered through printed media, demonstrations, and a post-test assessment. The post-test results showed that more than 50% of participants demonstrated increased knowledge regarding the symptoms and management of DHF.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve the personal selling skills of silk product entrepreneurs in Shenzhen, China, in facing increasingly fierce market competition. Mentoring was provided through field observations, training, simulations, and hands-on practice with silk traders. Results showed significant improvements in interpersonal communication skills, product demonstrations, mastery of sales materials, and persuasion techniques. These improvements resulted in increased consumer interest and increased sales success rates. This activity demonstrated that personal selling is an effective strategy for increasing the appeal and sales of high-value traditional craft products such as silk.

Abstract

The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding both in the world and in Indonesia still shows low numbers. According to WHO data, the average exclusive breastfeeding globally is only 38%. The National Health Survey reported that the proportion of babies aged 6-23 months who received exclusive breastfeeding nationally was 55.5%. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in South Sumatra Province in 2023 is 70%, which has not reached the program target. According to data from the Palembang City Health Profile in 2023, the number of babies aged < 6 months who received Exclusive Breastfeeding reached 80.4%. The Coverage of Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Empat Ulu Palembang Health Center Working Area is still 48.3%. The goal is to make the work area of the Empat Ulu Palembang Health Center an area with Exclusive Breastfeeding coverage that has increased from previous years by mobilizing community groups, namely Posyandu Cadres and Health Workers, through education, training, and assistance about Breastfeeding Classes. So it is hoped that these cadres and trained health workers can accompany and nurture pregnant women in the third trimester about breastfeeding preparation and breastfeeding mothers who have babies 0-6 months so that they can breastfeed properly and correctly and can provide Exclusive Breastfeeding properly. And can increase the knowledge and skills of mothers in giving breast milk to their babies.
