Abstract

Reading comprehension is the ability of process to comprehend the text or massage, its meaning and integrate with the knowledge readers that they have already known. When they read a text, they can obtain much information about knowledge. In fact, the students still not interest in learning reading comprehension, because it’s boring situation and they cannot understand about the text or massage. The interest topic is one of the strategies can be used by the teacher in teaching learning reading subject for students. It increases the students’ motivation and their interest in learning. Students’ interest is come from within students or from their inside. Two types of interest can influence the students’ interest: first, personal interest is the students only focus a specific activity or topic. Second, situational interest is the students’ interest are not permanent depend on the condition stimulate. In learning, the teacher is a control person to manage the students and the teacher should choice the interest topic in teaching reading comprehension.

Abstract

This qualitative field research aims to analyze students' writing skills in scientific writing. The data source comprises students from the Information Technology Education Study Program at STKIP Taman Siswa Bima, specifically those enrolled in Indonesian language courses during the odd semester of 2022/2023. The data collection method utilized tests, while data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman models. Findings indicate that students' writing skills scored an average of 72.3% across various aspects, including content of ideas (22.2%), organizational content (14.15%), grammar (14.2%), vocabulary (17.65%), and spelling/writing (4.1%). Overall, the study concludes that students' ability to write scientific papers in the Information Technology Education Study Program at STKIP Taman Siswa Bima is at a good level.

Abstract

This research aims to know the understanding of the Head of School and Teacher related to the profile of students Pancasila in SMP Negeri 1 Sukosewu Bojonegoro. This research focuses on the understanding of the Head of School and Teacher of the concept of Pancasila Student Profile. The approach in this research is qualitative with the type of evaluative research. Data collection methods, such as interviews and documentation. The results of research in general, the Head of School and Teacher understand and acknowledge the importance of the dimensions of believing, fearful, and noble morality; royong; independent; critical; and creative. However, there are differences in the dimensions of global independence, where their understanding still needs to be enhanced. The conclusion of this study is the need for improved understanding and implementation of the global independence dimension in the student profile of Pancasila in the 1st Sukosewu Bojonegoro State High School.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strengthening of anti-corruption values in Civics learning at SMP Negeri 1 Sidoarjo. The type of research used in this study is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results of strengthening anti-corruption values in Pancasila and Citizenship Education learning for seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Sidoarjo show that there are four ways carried out by teachers, namely by providing knowledge related to anti-corruption values, providing moral direction in form of advice and stories of real events that contain anti-corruption values, providing role models to students related to anti-corruption values, and providing rewards and sanctions to students. Furthermore, the evaluation carried out by Civics teachers in strengthening anti-corruption values is conducted through an attitude assessment. In strengthening anti-corruption values, teachers experience obstacles, namely the lack of awareness among students. The solution is to give advice to students continuously.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative study investigates the utilization and challenges associated with audio-visual media in enhancing the motivation of third-grade students at MI Miftahul Ulum Surabaya. Data collection involved observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Findings demonstrate that the use of audio-visual media effectively captures students' attention, increasing their motivation to actively engage in learning and facilitating comprehension of instructional content. However, challenges arise from limited access to necessary tools and the time-consuming preparation process for audio-visual materials. Thus, careful and thorough preparation is essential to ensure the optimal use of audio-visual media, enabling more effective learning experiences for students. Addressing these constraints can contribute to the successful integration of audio-visual resources in educational settings.

Abstract

In the pursuit of educational development, the youth of Pakamban Laok Village in Pragaan Subdistrict show a strong preference for pursuing higher education at Islamic institutions affiliated with Islamic boarding schools. This growing interest among the youth of Pakamban Laok serves as a foundation for self-development in the realm of education. This study aims to identify and gather data on the internal and external factors influencing the inclination to study at the Islamic College of Pakamban Laok Village in Pragaan District, Sumenep Regency. Employing a qualitative descriptive research method, data and information were collected and subsequently analyzed to address the objectives of this study. The findings reveal that internal factors, such as motivation, aspirations, and hopes, significantly influence the interest in learning at the Youth Islamic Boarding School in Pakamban Laok Village, Pragaan Sumenep District. External factors, including family, friends, school, and religious practices, also play a significant role in shaping the interest in learning among adolescents attending Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Pakamban Laok Village, Pragaan Sumenep District.

Abstract

The current educational system in Indonesia embraces the 2013 curriculum along with the Independent Campus Learning Curriculum (MBKM), aimed at enhancing the quality of education in the country. This article explores the consequences of transitioning and evolving from the 2013 curriculum to an independent curriculum. The research employs a library study method, focusing on gathering data from various online sources. Both Indonesian and English serve as the primary languages for the collected data. Google Scholar emerges as the predominant online reference source. The findings reveal that the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum has impacted teachers by necessitating greater creativity and innovation in their teaching methods. Moreover, this curriculum demands in-depth understanding and training for educators. Crucially, both curricula share the overarching goal of elevating the quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research delves into the complexities associated with the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia and scrutinizes the repercussions of transitioning from the 2013 Curriculum (K13) to the Independent Curriculum within the educational landscape. Employing a literature review methodology, the study synthesizes insights from diverse literature sources. The findings unveil a spectrum of challenges, encompassing hurdles in effective implementation, the preparedness of educators and students, evaluation of the curriculum's impact on educational quality, as well as its broader social and cultural implications. Despite these challenges, the research identifies positive outcomes, such as a notable surge in student creativity and heightened preparedness for the demands of the professional sphere. This comprehensive exploration contributes nuanced perspectives to the ongoing discourse on curriculum dynamics and their multifaceted influence on the educational paradigm in Indonesia.

Abstract

In an era of globalization that is increasingly curbing local cultural diversity, this article raises the issue of the importance of developing a culture-based curriculum for elementary school level. This approach aims to align education with local identity, revive students' sense of pride and understanding of their cultural heritage, and promote cultural diversity in the teaching and learning process. In the midst of the challenges of globalization which has the impact of cultural homogenization, a culture-based curriculum is the only strong bulwark to defend and maintain the cultural roots of a nation. This article reviews the background, principles, benefits, and steps for implementing a culture-based curriculum for elementary schools, while also discussing challenges that may arise and solutions that can be implemented. In conclusion, education that reflects local identity through a culture-based curriculum is a leading step in preserving cultural heritage, supporting student development, and creating a more inclusive society.
