Abstract

This study aims to analyze the da'wah strategies implemented by the Modern Mosque of Kurir Langit in campaigning the Food Donation Movement in Parepare City, as well as to identify internal and external strategic factors that influence the sustainability of the program. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach within a field research framework, involving interviews and observations with administrators, Kurir Langit volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries. Secondary data were also obtained from books, journal articles, and online sources relevant to the topic. The data analysis process followed the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the mosque utilizes several strategic approaches, including the use of social media flyers and short videos as campaign tools and accountability media for donors and partners. The rational approach (al-manhaj al-‘aqli) is reflected in conveying theological, social, and humanitarian benefits of donating food, while the sensory approach (al-manhaj al-hissy) appears in volunteer engagement and millennial involvement through direct humanitarian activities. The study also identifies several weaknesses, such as limited human resources, inadequate donor participation, and the mosque’s geographically distant location from the urban center. Meanwhile, opportunities arise from technological developments, improved mosque infrastructure, and strong community trust. The threats include limited time for direct socialization, challenges in food distribution, and the dominance of rice as the primary donated item. Based on these findings, the study recommends strengthening digital communication strategies, expanding partnerships with local institutions, diversifying donated food items, and increasing volunteer training to enhance program effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of teachers to prepare test instruments using Quizizz in the formative evaluation of Qur’an Hadith learning at MTs DDI Taqwa, as well as to examine the effectiveness of its implementation and students’ responses toward it. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research was conducted through field observations and in-depth interviews with Islamic Education (PAI) teachers at MTs DDI Taqwa, Parepare City. The qualitative paradigm used seeks to understand comprehensively the teacher’s performance and students’ experiences in applying Quizizz Paper Mode within the formative evaluation process. The findings reveal that teachers demonstrated a good level of competence in preparing test instruments using Quizizz Paper Mode. They were able to design items aligned with the Qur’an Hadith curriculum, considering question difficulty, and integrating cognitive aspects in accordance with learning objectives. The implementation of Quizizz in paper format presents an innovative alternative in assessment, especially in schools with limited access to digital technology. Despite the paper-based format, this method successfully preserves fairness, maintains engagement, and adapts the advantages of digital quizzes into a traditional testing environment. Moreover, students’ responses toward formative evaluations using Quizizz Paper Mode were highly positive. They expressed enthusiasm, found the tests more engaging, and showed greater confidence during evaluations. The use of this method also stimulated active learning, enhanced motivation, and created a more enjoyable and interactive learning atmosphere. Overall, the study concludes that Quizizz Paper Mode serves as a practical and effective solution in formative assessments for Qur’an Hadith learning, bridging innovation with contextual educational needs while fostering both teacher creativity and student participation.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: How the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategy is implemented by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMK Negeri 3 Barru; How to develop students' critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence after participating in PAI learning using PBL strategies; and the influence of PBL strategies on students' critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. Data collection techniques include tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through normality, homogeneity, t-test, and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) tests with the help of the SPSS for Windows version 26.0 program. The results of the study showed that: The Problem-Based Learning Strategy was implemented in three main stages, namely before, during, and after treatment. The stage before treatment includes instrument validity testing and pre-test implementation. The implementation stage includes context-based learning activities on authentic religious issues, collaborative group discussions, exploration of Islamic sources, presentation of results, and joint reflection, with teachers acting as facilitators. The average score of students' critical thinking skills increased from 53.10 to 69.10, while the average emotional intelligence increased from 53.10 to 67.75 after the implementation of the PBL strategy. The results of the multivariate test (MANOVA) showed a significance value of 0.000 on all indicators (Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root), which indicated a significant influence of the Problem-Based Learning strategy on improving the critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence of students at SMK Negeri 3 Barru. These findings confirm that the application of Problem-Based Learning strategies in PAI learning is not only effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, but also able to develop their emotional intelligence, which contributes to character formation and reflective thinking skills in the context of religious education in vocational schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of multicultural education on the formation of inclusive and tolerant character in students at MTsN 1 Tana Toraja. The background of this research is based on the social conditions of the Tana Toraja community, which is characterized by cultural and religious diversity, thereby requiring educational strategies that foster mutual respect and prevent intolerance. The research method employed is quantitative with a multiple linear regression approach. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using classical assumption tests, F-tests, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that multicultural education has a significant effect on the formation of inclusive and tolerant character, both simultaneously and partially. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.725 indicates that 72.5% of the variation in the formation of inclusive and tolerant character can be explained by multicultural education, while the remaining 27.5% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating multicultural values into the learning process and extracurricular activities to strengthen students’ character, enabling them to adapt to diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the symbolic significance of the Bugis Lontara copying tradition (palontara) and its subtle dakwah messages as represented in the documentary film Andi Oddang To Sessungriu: The Tale of Knowledge Preservers Enduring the Digital Age, particularly in the context of the tension between cultural preservation and the dominance of digital technology. Employing a qualitative interpretive approach with Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis and Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutic framework, the research examines visual motifs, narrative structures, and cinematic elements of the film, supported by in-depth interviews with director Andi Musran and protagonist-palontara Andi Oddang To Sessungriu. Findings show that everyday acts of copying dripping bamboo-pen ink, page stamping, cellakeng as divine calling, silent workspaces, and the shift from manual to digital typing are not merely technical processes but multilayered symbols connoting sincerity (ikhlas), steadfastness (istiqamah), relentless effort (reso temmangingi), honor-compassion (siri’ na pacce), mutual humanizing-strengthening (sipakatau-sipakalebbi-sipatokkong), and upright honesty (malempu). These symbols harmoniously fuse Bugis philosophical values with Islamic ethical principles, transforming the palontara figure into an exemplar of dakwah bil hal (propagation through exemplary action) and cultural jihad in the digital era. The documentary itself functions as a contemporary palontara, successfully bridging ancestral wisdom with younger generations without compromising authenticity. This research recommends that Islamic broadcasting institutions, educational bodies, and cultural activists develop more documentary-based and hybrid-media dakwah strategies that prioritize local wisdom, contemplative aesthetics, and intergenerational dialogue to counter the erosion of intangible heritage while strengthening moderate, inclusive, and contextual Islamic propagation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the shifting meaning of Siri’ in the practice of pre-wedding photography among the Bugis community in Parepare City. In Bugis culture, Siri’ represents honor, modesty, and respect for tradition, values strictly preserved, especially by couples preparing for marriage. However, modernity and contemporary lifestyle have increased the popularity of pre-wedding photography. From an Islamic law perspective, interactions between unmarried men and women are restricted, including in pre-wedding photo sessions, creating tension between modern practices, cultural values, and religious norms. The research uses a field-based qualitative design with an empirical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary sources included religious leaders, photographers, and couples involved in pre-wedding photography, while secondary sources comprised literature on Siri’ and Islamic family law.The findings highlight three main points: (1) Pre-wedding photography is now part of contemporary wedding trends despite some perceptions of inappropriateness, driven by technology, social media, and visual representation. (2) There is a significant shift in Siri’s interpretation, moving from strict pre-marital modesty toward a symbolic understanding compatible with modern lifestyles. (3) Islamic law and Siri’ values respond critically and selectively; Islamic law rejects practices that violate sharia, while Siri’ has transformed yet persists in the community’s consciousness. These findings imply that Bugis cultural identity is adapting, with traditional values like Siri’ being reinterpreted rather than abandoned to accommodate modern social realities. This shift challenges communities to balance cultural expectations, religious norms, and contemporary lifestyles, highlighting the need for clearer cultural guidance and context-sensitive Islamic legal education.
