Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital media in improving students' learning outcomes in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah DDI Awang-Awang, Pinrang Regency. The research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted in two cycles comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Digital media such as animated videos and interactive quizzes were utilized during the learning process. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' average scores, from 73.75 in the first cycle to 88.12 in the second cycle. These findings confirm that digital media not only enhance comprehension but also increase students' interest and active engagement in learning. However, the study highlights certain limitations, including a lack of in-depth discussion on potential challenges, such as limited technological access in certain areas, teacher readiness, and cultural resistance to technology in education. Future research is needed to address these challenges and explore the best methods for integrating digital technology into the curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students' understanding of the "Masbuk in Prayer" material through the use of YouTube video-based learning media at MTs Maarif in Pinrang Regency. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, involving 25 students. The study focused on improving learning quality and outcomes through the integration of video-based media into the instructional process. The results indicate significant improvements in both cycles. In Cycle I, the average student score reached 75, with a mastery level of 64%, categorized as "sufficient." In Cycle II, the average score rose to 83, with a mastery level of 88%, categorized as "good." This increase demonstrates the effectiveness of YouTube videos in addressing gaps in understanding and fostering better engagement among students. The use of video media proved effective in enhancing several aspects of learning. Students exhibited increased active participation during class discussions, greater confidence in expressing opinions, and improved ability to summarize and organize information from video content. These improvements were attributed to the interactive nature of YouTube videos, which helped transform abstract concepts into concrete and relatable knowledge. The findings align with existing theories on the benefits of visual and audio-based learning media. Interactive video content facilitates better comprehension and retention of material, fostering analytical skills and deeper understanding. This study confirms that integrating YouTube video-based learning media can be an effective and efficient strategy for improving learning quality, particularly in Islamic jurisprudence topics such as "Masbuk in Prayer." This research highlights the importance of utilizing technology to create an engaging learning environment that aligns with the needs of Generation Z students, who are accustomed to visual and interactive learning tools. It emphasizes the role of educators in leveraging such media to achieve better learning outcomes.

Abstract

The digital era has revolutionized how Muslims access hadiths, with applications and online platforms providing convenient access to vast collections. However, alongside these advancements, significant concerns have arisen regarding the validity of the content. Many platforms lack proper verification mechanisms, leading to the widespread dissemination of dhaif (weak) or maudhu' (fabricated) hadiths. This issue is exacerbated by low levels of hadith literacy among users, who often rely solely on search features without understanding the sanad (chain of narration) or matan (content), potentially distorting religious understanding and practices. This study explores the challenges and opportunities of digital hadith applications, focusing on content validity and the role of technology in hadith studies. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, data were gathered through library research, analyzing classical hadith collections, academic journals, and digital platforms. Case documentation was also utilized to identify examples of misinformation and evaluate digital platforms’ mechanisms for ensuring authenticity. The findings reveal that many digital applications fail to provide comprehensive sanad and matan verification, amplifying the risks of misinformation. However, technology offers substantial opportunities, including efficient access to primary sources, multilingual translations, and tools for interactive learning. These advancements highlight the potential for digital platforms to enhance hadith studies if developed responsibly. This study recommends collaborative efforts between scholars, developers, and educators to create reliable and authentic digital hadith platforms. Public education on the principles of hadith studies and responsible use of technology is crucial for preserving the integrity of Islamic teachings and ensuring their relevance in the digital age.

Abstract

This research examines social facts related to marriage dispensation before and after the enactment of Law No. 16/2019 at the Sidenreng Rappang Religious Court. The focus of the research is on the factors causing the increase in marriage dispensation applications and the response of law enforcers in the religious courts. The method used is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach and case study method. The results showed that after the enactment of Law No. 16/2019, which raised the minimum age of marriage to 19 years, there was a significant increase in marriage dispensation applications at the Sidenreng Rappang Religious Court. The main factors influencing the high number of applications include family economic conditions, low levels of education, strong local social and cultural norms, pregnancy outside marriage, and lack of supervision and education from parents. In addition, fear of violating religious norms and a desire to maintain the family's reputation are also important reasons for marriage dispensation applications. Despite various education and socialization efforts by the Sidenreng Rappang Religious Court, the effective implementation of the minimum age of marriage still faces challenges due to deep-rooted social and cultural factors in the community. This study recommends the need for increased legal education, strengthening the role of parents, and synergy between agencies to reduce marriage dispensation.

Abstract

In everyday language, AI is not considered mute because it can produce speech; however, from the perspective of kalam, the presence of kalam nafsi is required to negate muteness. The research problem, which centers on the distinction in the meaning of muteness, gives rise to three main issues to be analyzed: (1) the possibility of qualia in AI, (2) AI’s potential to speak, and (3) the source of the grammatical utterances generated by AI. This study is descriptive and qualitative in nature, employing a literature review method. The results of this study reveal three key findings: first, AI does not possess qualia; second, AI is essentially a mute subject that only produces speech mechanically; and third, the source of AI’s utterances is its designer. Theoretically, this research expands the concept of kalam in Imam al-Ash‘ari’s thought, which was previously focused solely on God, toward the domain of created beings in this case, AI. Practically, this study shifts our linguistic perspective by highlighting that the AI we converse with is a mute subject, whereas a mute human being actually possesses inner speech. Keywords: . Abstract

This study aims to explore Al-Ghazali’s concept of happiness as elaborated in his work Kīmiyā’ al-Sa‘ādah and to critically analyze its relevance in addressing the spiritual and ethical crisis of contemporary society. The research departs from the concern that the modern understanding of happiness is largely materialistic, short-term, and psychologically fragmented, often resulting in existential anxiety and spiritual emptiness. Al-Ghazali offers a holistic framework of happiness rooted in self-knowledge (ma‘rifat al-nafs), soul purification (tazkiyat al-nafs), and spiritual ascension toward divine knowledge (ma‘rifatullāh), combining both individual and social dimensions of well-being. This research employed a qualitative descriptive-analytical method with a library research approach, using Kīmiyā’ al-Sa‘ādah as the primary source and supported by relevant academic literature and field data. The study finds that happiness in Al-Ghazali’s perspective is a transformative process that involves ethical cultivation, self-discipline, and spiritual awareness. Furthermore, it responds meaningfully to modern spiritual disconnection and the weakening of social ethics. The findings also reveal that Al-Ghazali’s conception of happiness aligns with, yet transcends, modern psychological models by integrating the vertical (God-human) and horizontal (human-human) dimensions of life. It offers not only an inner sense of peace but also serves as a foundation for moral and social harmony. Based on these findings, the study recommends the integration of Al-Ghazali’s values into spiritual education, character formation programs, and contemporary counseling practices. It also proposes further interdisciplinary research between Islamic philosophical traditions and contemporary psychological sciences to enrich the discourse on meaningful and holistic happiness in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of parental dominance in the practice of arranged marriages, specifically in the context of divorces resulting from such arrangements in Ma’rang District, Pangkep Regency. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research collects primary data from parents who have arranged marriages for their children, individuals who were involved in arranged marriages, religious leaders, and community figures. Secondary data were obtained from scholarly literature discussing similar themes. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The analysis framework is built upon domination theory, conflict theory, and the concept of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. The findings indicate that parents exercise dominance through three approaches: persuasive, authoritative, and coercive. This dominance has significant implications, including marital disharmony, psychological distress, divorce, post-marriage trauma, and interfamily conflict. From the perspective of Islamic family law, arranged marriages that exclude the children's consent are inconsistent with the core values of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah—specifically the protection of religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), and progeny (ḥifẓ al-nasl). It also violates Article 16 (1) and (2) of the Compilation of Islamic Law, which mandates the mutual consent of both parties in a marriage contract. Based on these findings, the study recommends that family decision-making processes prioritize open dialogue and individual autonomy in order to build marriages that reflect Islamic ideals of sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. In addition, the study encourages policymakers and religious authorities to strengthen community awareness regarding the legal and ethical dimensions of marriage decisions.

Abstract

This thesis aims to describe the challenges and strategies applied by moral faith teachers in instilling character in the digital era in students at MTsN Parepare. This study uses a type of qualitative approach with an ex post facto type of research that is descriptive in the form of field research and direct data collection through observation and interviews with PAI MTsN Parepare teachers. The research paradigm used is a qualitative descriptive paradigm that seeks to understand in depth the social and educational reality that is taking place in schools. The results of this study explain that teachers of Moral Faith at MTsN Parepare face various challenges in cultivating students' character in the digital era, such as the negative influence of social media, lack of awareness of digital ethics in students, and limited time in a dense curriculum. The challenge of teachers in implementing strategies is the use of digital media as a means of learning, problem-based learning methods, as well as discussions and simulations related to moral issues in cyberspace, while guiding students through self-reflection and example. The strategy has shown positive results although not fully optimal, but with consistent and continuous implementation students are beginning to be able to understand and practice character values in their digital lives.

Abstract

This study examines the sasi system as a customary legal mechanism within the community of Desa Iha, Maluku, and analyzes the nature of its violations through the lens of Islamic criminal law. Sasi is a local tradition aimed at preserving natural resources through collective prohibitions agreed upon by the community. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach, the research employed observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that violations of sasi continue to occur, including theft, hoarding, and premature harvesting of protected crops. Customary sanctions such as fines and confiscation serve both preventive and corrective functions, aligning with the Islamic concept of ta‘zīr punishments. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, these violations may also be categorized as fasād fī al-arḍ (corruption on earth), as they damage both social order and ecological balance. Thus, integrating customary law and Islamic criminal principles presents a strategic approach to strengthening resource management systems grounded in justice and sustainability
