Abstract

This study aims to develop a data-driven employer branding strategy to enhance the attractiveness of a state-owned infrastructure enterprise to Generation Z (Gen Z) talent in Indonesia. Despite the company’s national significance and stable reputation, recent declines in applicant interest—particularly within the national joint SOE recruitment program—indicate a misalignment between its employer value proposition and the expectations of emerging job seekers. Using a quantitative approach, this research surveyed 205 external Gen Z respondents and 62 internal Gen Z employees. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) identified five key employer branding dimensions: Organizational Attributes, Job Attributes, Workplace Attributes, Compensation & Rewards, and Social & Altruistic Value. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) revealed that external Gen Z candidates are primarily influenced by Compensation & Rewards. The Importance-Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA) indicated underperformance on several critical indicators valued by Gen Z, including autonomy, inclusive culture, value alignment, and transparent evaluation. These findings suggest that the company’s current branding lacks differentiation and fails to resonate with Gen Z’s aspirations. The study contributes to the limited empirical research on employer branding within state-owned enterprises by combining external and internal perspectives and applying advanced analytical tools. Practical implications include reevaluating communication strategies, enhancing employee experience programs, and refining social value initiatives to attract and retain Gen Z talent. The proposed framework also serves as a reference for other public-sector organizations seeking to modernize their employer branding in an increasingly competitive labor market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions on stock returns and test the moderating role of company size in companies listed on the LQ45 Index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange. This study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling and obtains 17 companies as samples for the 2019–2024 period. The data are analyzed using panel data regression and moderation regression to test the relationships between variables. The results show that the environmental score has a negative and significant effect on stock returns, the social score has a positive and significant effect on stock returns, while the governance score has no significant effect on stock returns. In addition, company size does not strengthen the relationships between the three ESG dimensions and stock returns. These findings provide practical implications for investors in portfolio selection by emphasizing social performance over environmental costs, for managers in optimizing ESG resource allocation toward high-impact social initiatives, and for policymakers in developing regulations that better align environmental investments with market incentives to enhance the effectiveness of sustainability practices in driving stock performance.

Abstract

This research highlights the dimensions involved in each variable that emerged from previous studies and identifies the indicators associated with the dimensions of augmented reality, digital influencers, and brand loyalty. It employs Publish or Perish and VOSviewer software for bibliometric analysis. The data sources include Scopus, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, Sage, and SpringerLink. The findings reveal similar and distinct dimensions and indicators for augmented reality, digital influencers, and brand loyalty. Similarities appear in the augmented reality dimensions related to experience, effect, interactivity, and vividness. Digital influencers relate to effectiveness, characteristics, attractiveness, authenticity, credibility, parasocial relationships, sponsorship, original value, persuasiveness, power, trust, and uniqueness. Brand loyalty relates to indicators such as willingness and purchase intention. The bibliometric maps reveal new variables and indicators for measuring augmented reality, digital influencers, and brand loyalty. This research model can be extended by combining variables, dimensions, and indicators as recommendations for future studies, with implications for researchers and practitioners in marketing. These findings offer practical implications for researchers developing comprehensive measurement instruments and for practitioners designing integrated marketing strategies that leverage augmented reality technology and digital influencer engagement to enhance brand loyalty.

Abstract

This study examines the legal implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in professional employment sectors in Indonesia and compares them with regulatory frameworks in the United States. As a developing nation operating under a civil law system, Indonesia has yet to establish comprehensive regulations capable of responding to the disruptions AI poses to labor stability and job availability. Existing labor legislation and electronic systems regulations do not sufficiently protect workers from the risks of automation or AI-driven termination of employment. In contrast, the United States, through Federal Executive Order No. 14110 (2023) and the Automated Employment Decision Tools Law (2021), has established adaptive regulatory mechanisms emphasizing independent audits, transparency in AI utilization, and the protection of civil rights and employment equity. The findings indicate that Indonesia must develop more responsive AI governance within its labor regulatory framework, including limiting the use of AI in recruitment, restricting AI-based efficiency layoffs, and implementing clear accountability standards for AI providers. These conclusions highlight the need for labor law reform to balance technological advancement with worker protection in the digital era.​

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategic cooperation between PT. Pindad, an Indonesian defense company, and MBDA (Matra Bae Dynamics Alenia), a leading missile systems company from France, in the development and production of the Mistral Atlas platform. This cooperation represents a crucial step in enhancing Indonesia's national defense capacity, particularly in addressing increasingly complex aerial threats. The research examines the collaboration process, technical challenges encountered, and the impact of this partnership on product innovation, competitive advantage, and company performance. The results of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) analysis indicate that the strategic alliance between PT. Pindad and MBDA has a significant positive impact on enhancing product innovation, as manifested in product value. This alliance not only improves PT. Pindad's employees' skills through technology transfer but also contributes to greater product differentiation, which directly strengthens the company's competitive advantage. Product differentiation, in turn, has a significant impact on PT. Pindad's financial performance, thereby boosting the company's competitiveness in the global defense industry market. This research identifies key factors influencing the success of this strategic cooperation, including alliance quality, goal alignment, and employee skills. Based on these findings, the research provides recommendations for further development in the defense industry, particularly in enhancing product innovation and strengthening competitiveness through effective strategic collaboration. Thus, this research is expected to contribute significantly to understanding strategic cooperation in the defense industry and to support efforts to increase Indonesia's defense self-reliance.

Abstract

Construction projects are entering an era of profitability, aiming to achieve business goals with minimal resources. Yet, prior research shows only 54% complete on time, due to activity variations causing production waste and delays. This study examines non-physical waste production from the Lean Six Sigma concept's influence on project time management via Lean Construction mediation in the PUSRI 3B project. Methods included identifying delay factors from literature and field observations, categorizing them as Lean Six Sigma non-physical waste, and distributing Likert-scale questionnaires to respondents. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS ver. 4 with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results indicate defect and overproduction waste significantly affect Lean Construction implementation but not time management—present in PUSRI 3B yet mitigated by quality control, avoiding delays. Inventory waste significantly impacts both Lean Construction and time management, contributing to delays. Overall, non-physical waste production significantly influences time management through Lean Construction mediation.

Abstract

Cooling towers are critical components in geothermal power generation systems, playing a vital role in maintaining thermal efficiency and managing water resources. This study investigates the thermal performance and water loss due to evaporation in an induced draft counter-flow cooling tower using a modeling and simulation approach based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Validation of the simulation results against actual data demonstrated high accuracy, with an error margin of 1.8%, indicating that CFD is a reliable method for analyzing and optimizing cooling tower design Simulation results show that increasing the hot water inlet temperature from 35°C to 49°C leads to a rise in evaporation loss from 5.0 kg/s to 13.0 kg/s (CFD), while the ASHRAE method yields higher values, ranging from 5.5 kg/s to 14.5 kg/s. For variations in hot water mass flow rate (423–845 kg/s), the ASHRAE method exhibits a linear increase in evaporation loss, whereas CFD results remain relatively stable. Additionally, increasing the hot water mass flow rate causes the cold-water outlet temperature to decrease from 21°C to 11°C, accompanied by a reduction in system effectiveness from 92% to 86%. Furthermore, increasing the cold air inlet velocity from 3.5 m/s to 6.5 m/s raises the evaporation loss from 14.5 kg/s to 16.0 kg/s (CFD) and significantly enhances system effectiveness from 11% to 91%. Overall, the findings demonstrate that CFD simulations provide realistic performance estimations compared to empirical methods, particularly under dynamic operating conditions.

Abstract

Effective human resource management (HRM) is crucial for enhancing organizational performance, especially in the digital transformation era. Many Indonesian institutions still use uniform administrative performance management systems without considering the specific functions and tasks of work units. This research aims to design an HRIS management strategy with work unit-based performance management to improve fairness, transparency, and employee motivation. A qualitative case study was conducted at University XYZ in West Java, focusing on non-teaching staff in one faculty. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 informants, document analysis, and direct observation. Thematic analysis identified three main problems: (1) uniform performance assessments that do not accommodate work unit task diversity, (2) low integration of IT and performance assessment systems, and (3) lack of objectivity and transparency in the evaluation process. Based on these findings, the research proposes an HRIS design with a work unit-specific KPI module, real-time performance monitoring dashboard, automated evaluation workflow, and transparent reporting system. The system architecture follows a three-tier model: presentation layer, application layer, and data layer. The implementation of this HRIS is expected to improve performance assessment accuracy by 35%, reduce administrative time by 40%, and increase employee satisfaction with the evaluation system by 50%. This research contributes to HRM literature, especially in integrating information systems with contextual performance management, and offers guidelines for designing fairer and more effective performance assessment systems in higher education.

Abstract

Advancements in financial technology have simplified transactions through Paylater services, yet they have also created opportunities for misuse, such as the practice of gesek tunai (gestun), which is carried out through fictitious transactions on e-commerce platforms. The purpose of this study is to examine the legal construction of the “unlawful act” element based on criminal law theory and to determine whether gestun practices in Paylater limits can be categorized as an initial modus operandi of criminal offenses. This research employs primary legal sources, including the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), the Anti–Money Laundering Law (Law No. 8 of 2010), OJK Regulation No. 10/POJK.05/2022, Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 11/11/PBI/2009, and relevant court decisions, using a normative juridical methodology through statutory and case approaches. The findings indicate that gestun in Paylater services meets the criteria of an initial modus operandi of criminal conduct because it involves transaction manipulation that may constitute fraud (Article 378 of the KUHP), embezzlement (Article 372 of the KUHP), money laundering (Law No. 8 of 2010), and even continued offenses (Article 64 of the KUHP). According to both monist and dualist theories, this activity is legally prohibited and also violates administrative regulations issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia. This study underscores the importance of enhancing public digital literacy and revising criminal law provisions to specifically regulate the misuse of fintech services.

Abstract

State Civil Apparatus (ASN) remains one of the most sought-after professions in Indonesia. In carrying out their duties, ASN are bound by laws and regulations, particularly those regarding ASN discipline. Data from the State Civil Service Agency indicate that ASN disciplinary violations throughout 2024 reached 4,195 cases. This study investigates the relationship between job boredom and counterproductive work behavior (CWB) among civil servants in Indonesia, while examining the moderating role of self-control. Amid high rates of disciplinary violations among State Civil Apparatus (ASN), there is a pressing need to understand the psychological drivers of these detrimental workplace behaviors. The research aims to determine whether job boredom predicts CWB and whether an individual’s self-control can mitigate this relationship. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the study collected data from 185 civil servants (109 males and 76 females, aged 24–58 years) in the Provincial Government of "X" via questionnaires measuring job boredom, self-control, and interpersonal and organizational CWB. The results showed that job boredom has a positive and significant influence on counterproductive work behavior, both interpersonally (PKK-I) and organizationally (PKK-O). Self-control was also found to significantly moderate the relationship between job boredom and counterproductive work behavior. The results of this study are expected to provide better insight into alternative recruitment and training strategies for employees, especially civil servants in Indonesia.
