Abstract

Brainstorming is a broadly used approach across various fields, including the creative industry, to facilitate the process of ideation. As technology advances, video conference is often used to facilitate virtual brainstorming, particularly in the creative field of advertising agencies. The media compensation theory (Hantula et al., 2011) was used as a tool to investigate the use of media in the brainstorming process in order to examine how video conferencing facilitates brainstorming activities within the production division of advertising agencies. Data was collected via interview and direct observation during the brainstorming process. The findings suggest that video conference facilitates the brainstorming process by two main categories of utilization: technological utilization and communicative utilization. Moreover, it was discovered that videoconferencing is not able to facilitate brainstorming for a long period of time as it causes fatigue for team members and cannot fully replace face-to-face communication in the brainstorming process. This study supports the adaptation aspect of media compensation theory within the context of brainstorming in advertising agencies.

The population in this study is companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange. Data collection used purposive sampling method, with a total sample size of 212, with a sampling quota of 109 companies that have both sales increases and decreases annually. In this study, there are independent variables such as Asset Intensity, Employee Intensity, and Intellectual Capital, dependent variable Competitiveness, and mediating variable Cost Stickiness. The results of the research show that the variables of employee intensity and intellectual capital have an influence in this study, whereas asset intensity does not have an influence in this study. Additionally, Cost Stickiness has not been able to mediate the influence on Asset Intensity, Employee Intensity, and Intellectual Capital.

Abstract

Leadership is always a topic of conversation for everyone, including in Christian circles. A good leader is a leader who has the ability to influence others to follow him. A good leader is also a leader who comes from God or a leader chosen by God. One of the leaders who is famous and widely recognized by the world is Moses, whose great leadership was recognized by four religions at once (Judaism, Christianity, Catholicism and Islam). Musa's leadership is one of the most influential leaderships in the world. Moses had implemented a good discipleship system. The discipleship system is a spiritual formation process that aims to improve a person's Christian faith and character. In the modern era, this discipleship system is increasingly important to face life's increasingly complex and diverse challenges. Without coaching and guidance from a church leader or fellow believer who is more spiritually mature, believers will experience stagnation in the growth of their faith. Without discipleship, believers may feel dissatisfied with the church and feel like they don't have a comfortable place to grow in their faith.

Abstract

There has been an increase in cases of diabetic ketoacidosis in children aged 1-14 years from 73% in 2019 to 83% in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. An increase in acute complications of type-1 DM can occur due to lack of compliance with glycemic control and activity restrictions which have the impact of reducing the level of glycemic control in children with type-1 DM. Based on these findings, researchers wanted to know the impact of restrictions on community activities during pandemic on the glycemic control of children with type 1 DM. The aims of this study is to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on glycemic control through HbA1c parameters in children with type 1 DM. Methods of this research is a cross sectional study with a sample size of 26 patients. Results are The average age of respondents was 15.58 years. More than half of respondents were female (73.1%). The average duration of suffering from type 1 DM was 4.77 years. More than half of the respondents had a history of diabetic ketoacidosis, 53.8%, and all respondents were Health Insurance (BPJS) participants (100%). There was a decrease in HbA1c levels during the pandemic compared to before the pandemic, namely 12.17 ± 2.60 to 10.32 ± 2.21. Statistically, this decrease means that there is an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on glycemic control through the HbA1c parameter in children with type 1 DM (p<0.05). There was a decrease in HbA1c levels during the pandemic compared to before the pandemic.

Abstract

The challenges faced by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta in dealing with its change in status as the special capital region have triggered the need for a comprehensive evaluation of the existing spatial and governance systems. Discussions between the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta and the Minister of National Development Planning indicate the importance of collaboration between central and regional government institutions in ensuring effective adaptation. In the context of relocating the national capital to East Kalimantan, Jakarta is confronted with the challenge of restructuring its government organization to manage environmental challenges, enhance the quality of public services, and ensure development sustainability. The primary focus of the Jakarta Government is on economic development and recovery, which requires restructuring the government organization to enhance the quality of public services and adapt to digital transformation. Redesigning the government organization is essential to ensure smooth transition and sustainable development in the future. Gap analysis shows that Jakarta faces several issues in organizational structure, workflow processes, human resources, and information technology. This research utilizes a qualitative approach with a case study method, collecting data from various sources, including literature reviews and official documents such as laws and regulations, as well as Government performance reports. It is hoped that the findings of this research will provide a comprehensive overview of the changes in the government organization in Jakarta City and offer valuable insights to the local government in their efforts to improve performance and effectiveness, as well as ensure development sustainability in the future.

Abstract

In today's world of education, mastery of English is important for students all over the world, including in Indonesia. Despite its importance, many learners struggle with English language proficiency, particularly in listening comprehension. This research explores the effectiveness of the CAKE application in improving English listening skills among secondary school students in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Using qualitative case study methodology, data was collected from 10 participants through interviews and observations. Findings showed significant improvements in students' listening skills after using the CAKE app, as evidenced by their performance in listening tests and self-reported experiences. Participants reported improvements in the quality of English such as better vocabulary and listening skills than before, increased self-confidence, focus and motivation in learning English, and this was due to the interesting features of the application. Although there were some challenges, such as selecting videos and understanding unclear audio, students provided valuable suggestions to improve the app's effectiveness. Overall, the CAKE app offers a promising solution for improving English listening skills, providing students with an accessible and engaging platform for language learning outside the classroom. By meeting students' needs and incorporating their input, CAKE applications have the potential to further improve language learning outcomes and contribute to students' overall language proficiency in a globalized world.

Abstract

An effort to maintain employee engagement is one of the major challenges for organizations currently because companies that are engaged in the construction industry must be able to overcome every obstacle, such as increased competition, decreased purchasing power, and instability in raw material prices, when carrying out their business activities, so companies have an urgency in maintaining the best talent over the long term as an effort to increase their competitive advantages in the organization. This study aims to fill the research gap by testing the influence of trust in management, goal clarity, and work-family conflict on employees’ intention to stay by involving work engagement as a mediator, especially in every company that is engaged in the construction industry. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 51 employees who worked as non-managerial staff at PT. Sanyon Bangun Lestari, in Indonesia, as one of the companies that are engaged in the construction industry. This study used a quantitative approach, so the data were analyzed through partial least squares with structural equation modelling when measuring a construct. The results of this study indicate that trust in management and work engagement have a positive and significant impact on intention to stay, whereas work engagement plays an important role in mediating the influence of trust in management and goal clarity on intention to stay. It is hoped that this study can be a reference in the development of future studies, especially research that utilizes different objects and variables.
