Abstract

Using English songs as a medium for vocabulary learning has become an interesting and effective approach, especially at the primary school level. This article aims to explore the benefits of using songs as a medium in English vocabulary learning, focusing on increasing students' motivation and ease of remembering new vocabulary. The research method used is a documentary study that reviews related literature and previous research results on this topic. The results show that songs can increase students' learning motivation through fun elements and memorable rhythms. Songs also provide a natural context for vocabulary use, which helps students understand and remember words better. The use of English songs as a medium for vocabulary learning in primary schools is proven effective and is recommended to improve the quality of English learning, by paying attention to the selection of appropriate songs and appropriate teaching strategies. Further research is recommended to develop more structured and effective music-based learning strategies in Indonesia's primary education context.

Abstract

The use of physical school observation as a preliminary measure for education pupils is covered in this article. This school's setting is purposefully chosen to encourage the development of peaceful, suitable learning environments. The goal of MTsN 2 Medan, a renowned madrasah, is to create a populist, Islamic, high-quality, and ecologically sustainable MTsN 2 Medan. There are 32 pupils accessible in a single class at MTsN 2 Medan, out of the 95 teachers on staff. This school has enough infrastructure and facilities, both in terms of the kind of equipment, the proportions, and the general quality or state of the well-maintained facilities. Activities related to teaching and learning follow the guidelines of the Permendiknas-based educational units, specifically the use of learning implementation plans (RPPs). This study used an observational data gathering method with a qualitative descriptive research design. According to the study's findings, MTsN 2 Medan is a school with excellent facilities for both instruction and learning. The infrastructure offered is in line with what students require to learn. The curriculum is implemented using the guidelines set forth by Permendikbud. The standards of the learning process are also followed by the teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

The context of this study is that students' ability to speak English is quite concerning. Students' interest in speaking English is relatively low due to a lack of mastery of vocabulary, and a fear of making mistakes in pronunciation, so they rarely practice it. Students become bored learning English, so their interest in English lessons decreases. Descriptive qualitative research methodologies are used in the research. The research population consisted of MAS PAB 1 Sampali students with a total sample size of 31. The researcher chose 11 students using a purposive sampling technique, in which the sample was determined based on the selection of information sources rather than the number of participants. Methods for gathering data include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing involves the reduction of data, the display of data, and the drawing/verification of conclusions. The study's findings are (1) students' perceptions of using the Hello English application revealed that as many as 98% of students believed the application could help improve students' speaking skills, (2) students used Technology progress very well by using it to learn, one of which was using the Hello English application, (3) the Hello English application was very efficient for teachers in helping teach speaking English in class. Based on research findings, the Hello English application is very useful and effective in teaching and learning activities, owing to its easy and practical access on any device, as well as fun features for students that keep them interested in learning English in the future.

Abstract

This study was aimed to see the Influence of EGRA technique on students’ Grammar Mastery at the eighth grade students of MTs Istiqlal Delitua. The objective of this study is to get the empirical data of the differences between students` score grammar test that were taught by using EGRA technique and the students were not. The population of this study consists of 126 students. The sampling process of this research is cluster random sampling technique. The researcher took two classes, VIII D as experimental class consisted of 32 students and VIII C as control class consisted of 31 students. The design of this study is a quantitative method using quasi-experimental design (non-equivalent control group) with two group classes, namely experimental class and control class. The data was collected through pretest and posttest. It aimed to know whether the EGRA technique in teaching grammar can improve students` grammar mastery. The research findings demonstrate that the t-test value is 10.83, which is significantly higher than the t-table value of 1.670 (3.925 > 1.670). This signifies that the use of the EGRA technique is effective in enhancing students' grammar mastery among the eighth-grade students of MTs Istiqlal Delitua. Consequently, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan bidang yang memainkan peran kunci dalam membentuk generasi masa depan yang berkualitas. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penting bagi mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi yang relevan dan dapat diterapkan secara praktis. Salah satu pendekatan yang efektif dalam pengembangan kompetensi mahasiswa pendidikan adalah melalui program observasi sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan melalui program observasi sekolah, dengan fokus pada pengembangan kompetensi mereka dalam mengajar dan berinteraksi dengan siswa dan lingkungan sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari 10 mahasiswa semester akhir jurusan pendidikan yang telah mengikuti program observasi sekolah selama satu semester. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipan selama program observasi sekolah. Data dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola dan temuan yang muncul. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program observasi sekolah memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pengembangan kompetensi mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan. Para mahasiswa melaporkan peningkatan pemahaman mereka tentang dinamika kelas, strategi pembelajaran yang efektif, dan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam mengajar. Program observasi sekolah dapat dijadikan sebagai bagian integral dari kurikulum pendidikan untuk mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan. Pengalaman praktis yang diperoleh melalui program ini dapat membantu mahasiswa mempersiapkan diri dengan lebih baik untuk menjadi pendidik yang kompeten dan siap menghadapi tantangan dunia nyata dan memperkuat pentingnya kolaborasi antara institusi pendidikan dan sekolah dalam mempersiapkan calon pendidik yang berkualitas.

Abstract

Studi ini meneliti peran pragmatik dalam membangun makna dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Pragmatik, cabang linguistik yang berfokus pada bagaimana konteks memengaruhi penafsiran makna, melampaui makna harfiah kata-kata untuk mengungkap bagaimana individu memahami maksud, makna tersirat, dan isyarat sosial. Dengan menerapkan teori implikatur, praanggapan, dan deiksis, analisis ini menyelidiki bagaimana individu berkomunikasi secara eksplisit dan implisit dalam interaksi sehari-hari. Data untuk studi ini dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan naturalistik percakapan dalam berbagai latar, termasuk lingkungan kasual, profesional, dan publik. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa pragmatik memainkan peran penting dalam menciptakan koherensi dan saling pengertian antara pembicara, sering kali membimbing pendengar dalam menafsirkan makna berdasarkan konteks, latar belakang budaya, dan dinamika relasional. Selain itu, studi ini menyoroti bagaimana strategi komunikatif seperti tindak tutur tidak langsung dan kesopanan membentuk interaksi, terutama dalam mengelola hubungan sosial dan menjaga keharmonisan. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pragmatik dalam pemahaman bahasa, yang menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang efektif bergantung pada kemampuan untuk menavigasi makna yang mendasarinya, harapan sosial, dan faktor kontekstual. Melalui pemeriksaan mendalam terhadap dialog sehari-hari, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana bahasa berfungsi secara pragmatis, menawarkan wawasan yang relevan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi di berbagai lingkungan. Dengan menjembatani kesenjangan antara teori linguistik dan aplikasi praktis, penelitian ini memberikan kerangka kerja yang berharga untuk memeriksa komunikasi dalam konteks di mana makna bersama sangat penting untuk interaksi pribadi, sosial, dan profesional.

Abstract

Motivation is an important factor that influences student success. Teachers' perceptions are needed regarding the phenomenon of decreased learning motivation experienced by students. This study aims to find out about how teachers' perceptions of using Brain Gym to increase student learning motivation and how the results obtained after doing brain gym on student learning concentration. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to provide an overview of teacher perceptions about the use of Brain Gym to build student learning motivation. The researcher conducted interviews to answer the question instruments asked. The interview includes questions, documentation sheets and other supporters. In this study applying convenience sampling, this sampling technique involves people who are easily reached and contacted by researchers. The results showed that almost all teachers have the same opinion that using brain gym can build student learning motivation. Therefore, the use of brain gym can be an example of cool and fun learning. This research has limitations in time and place. So it can be concluded that brain gym has a good effect on student learning motivation, besides helping teachers to be creative in the learning process.

Abstract

The National Capital is the center of government and political activities in a country. In Indonesia, plans to move the National Capital have already occurred but have not been implemented. Until the era of President Joko Widodo, this policy was issued again with the enactment of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital. However, this law contains pros and cons, especially in article 6 which regulates the destination location for transferring IKN. This research aims to analyze the provisions and reasons behind the relocation of the National Capital following Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital, as well as to find out the views of Fiqh Siyasah regarding the relocation of the National Capital. This research uses normative legal methods which focus on text analysis and library research. With legislation that reviews laws and regulations relating to the transfer of the country's capital. The results of this research indicate that the location of IKN is based on article 6 of Law no. 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital which is essentially located in East Kalimantan. Then the reason for moving the National Capital is the current objective conditions of the City of Jakarta, namely, urban density, building density, motor vehicle traffic density, natural disasters, the threat of ROB and excessive exploitation of groundwater extraction. In the view of Siyasah Fiqh, moving the National Capital can be justified, as long as it does not violate the people's rights. Because basically the principle of Siyasah Fiqh emphasizes that avoiding harm is better than taking advantage.
