The Dharma Andalas Community Service Journal is a Community Service Journal published by the LPPM (Institute for Research and Community Service) Dharma Andalas University. Abstract

Setelah menamatkan pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA), tidak semua pelajar akan melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Banyak siswa akan langsung mencari pekerjaan. Sementara itu persaingan untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan juga sangat ketat. Akibatnya sebagian siswa tamatan SMA akan menjadi pengangguran atau setengah menganggur. Salah satu solusi yang bisa dijadikan alternatif adalah dengan membuka lapangan kerja sendiri atau berwirausaha. Kondisi ini merupakan tantangan dalam dunia pendidikan yaitu menyiapkan mental siswa tamatan SMA untuk terjun dalam dunia kerja. Dalam kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini tim ingin membangkitkan minat berwirausaha kepada para siswa SMA, pentingnya berwirausaha dan melatih diri berwirausaha sejak masih di bangku sekolah. Tumbuhnya minat yang besar dalam berwirausaha akan mendorong siswa tersebut untuk berani, kreatif, menimba banyak pengalaman berwirausaha sejak masih muda. Para pelajar juga diajak untuk menggali potensi diri, mengembangkan rasa percaya diri, menambah pengetahuan kewirausahaan, memahami cara pemasaran yang baik dan memanfaatkan digital marketing untuk memperluas pemasaran. Diharapkan, setelah menamatkan sekolah para siswa dapat membuka usaha untuk dirinya sendiri dan kalau berkembang bisa memberi lapangan kerja bagi orang lain.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology is one of the important factors in supporting the availability of student accessibility to every information obtained through the use of electronic devices (gadgets). Students' ability to sort academic information is expected to be able to provide reinforcement in broadening students' perceptions in producing a more practical and innovative learning approach. Students of SMA 4 and SMKN 5 Sijunjung Regency are schools with A accreditation qualifications that have students with the Z generation category who have a reflection as a generation that is very strongly involved in the development of information technology. The strong involvement of Generation Z students in the use of Gadgets is the main factor in identifying student motivation, attitudes and behavior in the use of Gadgets, thus having an impact on student learning productivity for every information received. The approach of self-motivation training, life skills, soft skills and hard skills is the initial approach in directing students persuasively in understanding the benefits of the availability of information access, especially in increasing student information and knowledge. The results of the activity show that the persuasive approach carried out during the training process is able to attract positive responses from students, especially for every material that is related to the world of Generation Z teenagers. These results also show that a persuasive, innovative and relational approach is able to increase the enthusiasm of Generation Z students for every information that is academic and educational.

Abstract

Improving accounting knowledge at the high school/vocational school level is very necessary, considering that accounting is one of the competencies offered at these schools. In order to provide in-depth knowledge about finance, a team of lecturers from Dharma Andalas University held a community service activity at SMK 1 Padang Panjang and SMA Muhammadyah Padang Panjang. This activity was carried out by providing material related to knowledge about financial reports in accordance with current accounting standards. The number of students who participated in the PKM activity was SMK 1 Padang Panjang as many as 61 people and SMA Muhammadiyah Padang Panjang as many as 26 people. After this activity was carried out, students of SMK 1 Padang Panjang and SMA Muhammadyah Padang Panjang knew the types and forms of company financial reports in accordance with current standards.

Abstract

The capital market plays an important role in Indonesia's economy. However, with the rise of fraudulent investments, financial literacy education among the public, especially the younger generation, remains insufficient. This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding of high school students in Padang regarding the capital market and encourage them to invest wisely. Partners in this activity include SMK DEK, SMK Nusatama, SMAN 5, and SMAN 16 Padang, along with the Investment Gallery of BEI as facilitators. The methods used include lectures and demonstrations, with the hope of increasing the number of young investors. This education is expected to assist the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in improving financial literacy in the capital market sector.

Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan pendekatan yang mengkaitkan konsep matematika dengan konteks budaya lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan konsep-konsep matematika yang terkandung dalam budaya lokal suku Baduy dan suku Dayak melalui pendekatan etnomatematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber relevan seperti jurnal, prosiding, dan skripsi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kedua suku memiliki praktik budaya yang mengandung unsur matematis, seperti sistem bilangan, pengukuran, geometri, transformasi, hingga simbolis dalam ritual dan kerajinan. Suku baduy menerapkan konsep matematika dalam sistem kalender, pertanian, anyaman, dan permaian tradisonal. Sementara itu, suku Dayak menunjukkan penerapan matematika dalam arsitektur rumah adat, pola tenun, sistem perladangan, serta simbol geometris dalam ukiran dan pakaian adat. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa etnomatematika dapat menjadi jembatan antara budaya lokal dan pendidikan matematika kontekstual yang lebih inklusif dan bermakna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keberadaan dan penerapan konsep-konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat adat Suku Baduy melalui pendekatan etnomatematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research), dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai literatur akademik yang relevan dan kredibel. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Baduy secara turun-temurun menerapkan berbagai konsep matematis yang terintegrasi erat dalam praktik budaya mereka, seperti dalam sistem penanggalan kolenjer untuk menentukan waktu kegiatan penting, serta sistem pertanian ngahuma yang mencakup perhitungan musim tanam, hasil panen, dan pembagian hasil menggunakan satuan lokal. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa matematika tidak hanya hadir di ruang kelas, tetapi juga hidup dalam budaya dan tradisi masyarakat. Pendekatan etnomatematika dapat memperkaya pembelajaran kontekstual sekaligus melestarikan pengetahuan lokal yang bernilai. Dengan demikian, pendekatan etnomatematika tidak hanya penting untuk memperkaya pembelajaran kontekstual di sekolah, tetapi juga berperan dalam pelestarian pengetahuan lokal yang bernilai tinggi.

Abstract

There are several percent of grade XII high school students in Padang city who do not understand the importance of studying at university and the constraints of tuition fees for those who are less fortunate. This has an impact on the relatively low mindset for the intelligence of the nation in the future. The purpose of community service activities is to increase the number of grade XII high school graduates in Padang city with scholarships accepted at State Universities every year. The method of implementing activities according to priority problems with the solutions offered in the form of lectures, discussions and counseling methods. The solution offered to grade XII high school students in Padang city provides counseling on the importance of studying at university and scholarships for those who are less financially able. This solution is expected to have an impact on the number of high school graduates in Padang city accepted at State Universities every year increasing by around more than 80%. Continuing education to university is very important because it can increase knowledge and skills, open up career opportunities and develop personality. To continue their education, prospective students can obtain various types of scholarships provided by the government and the private sector.

Abstract

The motivation of senior high school students in class XII of Padang city is still relatively low and the reinforcement of certain subject concepts according to the independent curriculum is also lacking. This has an impact on the low academic achievement of students and the number of graduates accepted at State Universities each year is still not optimal. The purpose of community service activities is to increase the number of senior high school graduates in class XII of Padang city accepted at various State Universities each year. The method of implementing the activity is in accordance with the solution offered in the form of lecture, discussion and counseling methods. The solution offered to senior high school students in class XII of Padang city provides counseling on learning motivation and reinforcement of certain subject concepts according to the independent curriculum. This solution is expected to have an impact on the number of senior high school graduates in class XII of Padang city accepted at various State Universities each year increasing by around more than 80%. Learning motivation is intrinsic and extrinsic and is related to the learning process, making students more enthusiastic in learning. Reinforcement of certain subjects is a positive response given by teachers to students in the learning process as feedback so that students can maintain or improve good behavior.

Abstract

Andi shop business is located in Indarung, Padang city, West Sumatra province. So far, the business has not had any touch of Information Technology and Appropriate Technology. The food sold is priced at an average of IDR 8,000 per portion and various types of drinks are priced at IDR 5,000 per glass. In running its business, Andi shop is assisted by her wife and 3 children so that there is no payment of wages/salaries for workers. The turnover of Andi shop business is around IDR 600,000 per day. Marketing of Andi shop business is only around Indarung market and regular customers who routinely shop every day. Because there is always a continuous demand for food and drinks every day, the marketing prospects of Andi shop business are quite good to be developed in the future. The priority problem of Andi shop business is currently related to marketing problems with the solution of providing promotional counseling via digital marketing to expand market segmentation to consumers. The method of implementing activities is in accordance with the solutions offered in the form of discussion methods, counseling and practice. The purpose of community service activities is so that partners can develop well and continue in the future in the long term. Partner income is also expected to increase by around 10% per year so that it can increase the income of Andi shop business owners in particular and the economy of Padang city and West Sumatra province in general.

Abstract

Rice is the largest agricultural commodity in West Sumatra. It has an impact on the abundance of rice straw waste. Rice straw consists of 37.7% cellulose, 22.0% hemicellulose and 16.6% lignin. With its high cellulose content, rice straw has the potential to be utilised as a raw material for papermaking. On the other hand, small-scale cardboard industries that use raw materials from the pulp/paper industry's organic solid waste (sludge) are currently experiencing difficulties in the continuity of supply of other fibre materials as a mixture of organic solid waste, so processing rice straw into pulp through the kraft process with NaOH chemicals is expected to be an alternative raw material for the paper industry. In addition, the utilisation of rice straw into paper is also expected to reduce the waste produced. The service activity aims to provide information and training on making paper from rice straw to students at the secondary school level. From the activities, students were very enthusiastic in practicing paper making and making crafts from rice stalks.
