Abstract

Islamic education requires a paradigm that is not only oriented toward knowledge transfer, but also shapes students' critical awareness, moral character, and social responsibility. This article analyzes the concept of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil) as a model of prophetic critical education through a qualitative approach and library research on Qur'anic verses, hadith, and relevant literature. The findings show that amar ma'ruf functions as participatory and transformative education representing humanization, nahi munkar serves as social control in academic settings reflecting liberation, while the ethics of criticism and moral advocacy demonstrate the dimension of transcendence grounded in faith in Allah SWT. These three dimensions are integrated to shape students who are critical, moral, and responsible both socially and spiritually. Thus, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar can be understood as an educational model that not only teaches moral values but also encourages active participation and social transformation. This model is relevant for addressing contemporary challenges, such as moral degradation and social inequality, by offering a holistic approach that combines intellectual, spiritual, and social aspects. Prophetic critical education based on amar ma'ruf nahi munkar is expected to produce a generation that is not only cognitively intelligent but also possesses strong social sensitivity and moral commitment in community life.

Abstract

The concept of Living Qur'an examines how the Qur'an is internalized and practiced within the social life of Muslim communities. This study discusses the Condong Tresno tradition at Pondok Mambaul Falah Bondowoso, held regularly every 17th day of the Hijri month as a form of Living Qur'an through local culture. The activities include Qur'anic recitation, religious lectures (tausiyah), Javanese traditional attire, and gamelan music. Using a qualitative method with Sahiron Syamsuddin's perspective, this research aims to understand the meaning of Qur'anic recitation, its connection to the tausiyah theme, the spiritual impact on students, and community responses. The findings show that this tradition serves as cultural da'wah, integrating Islamic teachings with Javanese culture. The recited verses are thematically linked to the lecture topics, thereby strengthening students' religious understanding and spiritual experience. This tradition is not merely ceremonial but also shapes spirituality and religious values. The use of attributes such as blangkon, surjan, kebaya, and gamelan reflects the preservation of local culture for Islamic da'wah. Thus, the Condong Tresno tradition demonstrates that the Qur'an can live and thrive harmoniously within cultural practices and community social life

Abstract

This research was motivated by the untapped potential of ylang-ylang flowers as a source of community economic strengthening in Gajahrejo Village, Purwodadi District, Pasuruan Regency. Rural communities still depend on agriculture and nature-based tourism sectors which are vulnerable to seasonal changes and conservation policies. This study aims to analyze the production process of ylang-ylang flower oil and its potential in improving the village economy. The research employed a mixed methods sequential explanatory approach with a single intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results show that ylang-ylang oil production has considerable economic potential because the oil has high market value and can be developed into aromatherapy, cosmetic, and natural health products. The production process includes cultivation, flower harvesting, traditional distillation, and product marketing. However, business development still faces obstacles such as limited capital, distillation technology, community skills, and market access. This study implies that the development of ylang-ylang oil based on local resources can become an alternative for sustainable rural economic strengthening

Abstract

Islamic economic literacy is an important factor in the development of the Islamic financial ecosystem in Indonesia. However, a gap still exists between the Muslim community's commitment and their understanding of the implementation of sharia economic principles, including in Pekanbaru City, which has strong Malay-Islamic socio-cultural characteristics. This study aims to analyze da'wah communication strategies, identify barriers, and formulate an effective model for strengthening Islamic economic literacy among urban communities. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through observation, documentation, and review of literacy programs from various institutions. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that da'wah communication strategies are implemented through three channels: conventional-cultural (mosques and majelis taklim), contemporary digital, and collaborative-structural (synergy between da'wah institutions, universities, regulators, and the Islamic financial industry). The barriers encountered include limited communicator competence, the complexity of muamalah terms, and low public trust in Islamic financial institutions. This study formulates a Holistic Muamalah Da'wah Model that integrates the strengthening of dai competence, message simplification, the use of digital media, and institutional collaboration

Abstract

The sandwich generation phenomenon has become a socio-economic issue growing within contemporary families, particularly among households facing economic instability. Individuals in this category bear the dual responsibility of supporting both their nuclear family and their elderly parents, thus facing a dilemma in determining financial priorities. This study analyzes the practice of financial priority among sandwich generation families in Sukorejo Village, Jember, from the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Syarī'ah. Using a qualitative empirical method through interviews, observation, and documentation, the data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. The findings reveal three main priority patterns: first, prioritizing parents due to the strong commitment to birr al-wālidayn and cultural values of filial piety; second, prioritizing the nuclear family due to urgent daily needs, children's education, and household welfare; and third, attempting to balance support for both generations despite limited and unstable income. From the Maqāṣid al-Syarī'ah perspective, these practices reflect efforts to simultaneously realize ḥifẓ al-dīn (protection of faith), ḥifẓ al-nafs (protection of life), ḥifẓ al-nasl (protection of progeny), and ḥifẓ al-māl (protection of property). The study concludes that financial priority among sandwich generation families cannot be understood as a binary choice between filial piety and responsibility toward the nuclear family, but rather as a process of balancing interconnected obligations to achieve maṣlaḥah (public good). This research contributes to the development of Islamic family law studies through a maqāṣid-based understanding of financial responsibilities in multigenerational families.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of managing students' excessive activity and limited attention span in an elementary classroom, particularly in Grade 4A2 at MIN 4 Nganjuk. Hyperactive tendencies, characterized by high motor activity, impulsivity, and difficulty sustaining attention, often disrupt the learning process when not properly directed. Positioned within innovative pedagogical approaches, this research explores gamification as a strategic intervention to channel students' energy into constructive engagement. This study aims to describe the implementation of gamified learning and to examine its impact on students' focus and concentration. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through classroom observation, interviews, and documentation during a four-week implementation procedure. Points, missions, badges, leaderboards, and instant feedback were integrated into daily learning activities. The findings indicate a notable improvement in students' attention span, increasing from an average of 10-15 minutes to 30-40 minutes during learning sessions. Classroom dynamics also shifted from disruptive behavior to active and collaborative participation. The study concludes that gamification can transform excessive activity into meaningful engagement while fostering concentration, positive social interaction, and emerging intrinsic motivation among students

Abstract

The development of social media has changed the communication patterns of organizations in building relationships with the public. Instagram, as a digital communication medium, is used not only for disseminating information but also as a means of shaping audience perceptions, emotions, and behavior. This study aims to analyze the psychology-based digital communication strategy of the Instagram account @nuonline_id through cognitive, affective, and behavioral approaches. The study used a descriptive qualitative method using observation techniques of Instagram content, documentation, and literature studies related to digital communication and communication psychology. The results show that the digital communication strategy of the @nuonline_id account is implemented through the presentation of Islamic-based educational information to build the cognitive aspects of the audience, the use of visuals and persuasive narratives to build emotional engagement in the affective aspects, and calls to social and religious action to influence the behavioral aspects of the audience. These strategies demonstrate that psychology-based digital communication can increase engagement and strengthen the image of Nahdlatul Ulama's digital da'wah media in the digital society. This study confirms that a psychology-based communication approach plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of social media communication of religious organizations.

Abstract

Researching how Muslims make purchases online is becoming more important as e-commerce in Indonesia continues to expand. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Islamic economic literacy and religious values on the intention to engage in e-commerce transactions, with Muslim consumer attitudes serving as a mediating variable, among Gen Z students at Jombang University. The studies strategy used in this studies is a survey-based quantitative technique. In order to gather data, 96 individuals were chosen using a purposive sample method and given a Likert-scale questionnaire. With the help of the SmartPLS 4.0 tool, the studies data was analyzed utilizing PLS-SEM technique. The results demonstrate that religious beliefs and Islamic economic literacy positively affect the propensity to engage in online business. The impact of Islamic economic literacy and religious beliefs on transaction intentions was shown to be mediated by Muslim consumer attitudes. Also, e-commerce purchase intent is positively impacted by Muslim customer views. Students' favorable views and intents to transact via e-commerce platforms that conform with Sharia rules may be strengthened by strengthening their Islamic economic literacy and religiosity, according to this research. Universities, e-commerce operators, and other relevant organizations should prioritize Islamic economic literacy instruction and work to develop religious values in order to promote digital transaction behavior that is in line with Sharia standards, according to the implications of this study

Abstract

Environmental destruction is a frequently discussed theme in the Quran, one of which is found in Surah Ar-Rum verse 41. This verse attracted the attention of Tahir Ibn 'Ashur, a 20th-century exegete, in his commentary Tahrir wa Tanwir. This study aims to analyze Ibn 'Ashur's thoughts on this verse and its relation to environmental jurisprudence. This research is library research with an environmental jurisprudence approach. The primary source is Tafsir al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir, while secondary sources include the commentaries of al-Qurthubi, Ibn Kathir, as well as lexicons and environmental jurisprudence books. The findings show that Ibn 'Ashur provides a more contextual interpretation of Ar-Rum 41, particularly regarding the meaning of the term fasād. He distinguishes fasād into two meanings: a general meaning (ideological, moral, and spiritual destruction) and a specific meaning (environmental pollution). Ibn 'Ashur also affirms the causality between human actions and environmental damage, explaining the impacts on land (loss of food, plagues) and sea (decline of fish, pearls, and storms). In conclusion, Ibn 'Ashur's thought is relevant to addressing the contemporary ecological crisis as it encompasses both spiritual and material dimensions
