Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penggunaan etnomatematika dalam aktivitas pertanian sawah (meugoe) di kabupaten Aceh Utara. Etnomatematika merupakan aplikasi matematika dalam konteks budaya lokal memainkan peranan vital dalam berbagai kegiatan pertanian masyarakat Aceh, mulai dari pengukuran lahan, penyiapan bibit, hingga proses panen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Langkah -langkah penelitian ini meliputi observasi, wawancara dengan informan budaya (petani local), analisis dokumentasi terkait praktik-praktik pertanian tradisional Aceh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani di Aceh mengimplementasikan berbagai konsep matematika secara intuitif, seperti perbandingan, pengukuran, dan perhitungan area, yang terintegrasi dalam aktivitas sehari-hari mereka. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa matematika, sebagai bahasa universal, memiliki aplikasi yang kaya dan beragam di dalam kegiatan pertanian tradisional Aceh, memberikan wawasan baru dalam pendekatan pembelajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan bermakna.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the misconceptions of 5th-grade students in solving fraction addition problems. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research sample consisted of 30 grade 5 students in elementary schools in Nisam Antara sub-district, North Aceh. Students were selected based on the characteristics of moderate and low ability levels. To obtain data, through tests and interviews with each research subject. Based on the results of the study, there are several misconceptions in solving problems about fraction addition operations, namely: 1) students' inability to understand the concept of fraction addition, 2) teachers' informal way of teaching and presentation of teaching materials that pay less attention to student involvement, 3) lack of motivation level, response and focus of students when learning fraction addition operation and, 4) lack of understanding of prerequisite material of fraction addition operation, 5) students who have not been able to equalize the denominator, and do not know the concept of fraction addition operation.

Abstract

The learning obstacle experienced vary for students, which causes students to still have difficulty solving mathematical problems. Therefore, this study aims to determine the learning obstacles to student’s mathematical problem-solving abilities in statistics material at SMP Negeri 1 Kuala. The learning obstacle that will be discussed is the epistemological obstacle. The research method used is descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study are written tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by data correction, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The research subjects consisted of 3 students of class VII-2 SMP Negeri 1 Kuala who were selected based on the results of the student’s mathematical problem-solving ability test answers based on high, medium and low categories represented by 1 student in each category. The results showed that students with high mathematical problem-solving abilities experienced procedural and operational technique epistemological obstacles. Furthermore, students with moderate mathematical problem-solving abilities experienced conceptual, procedural and operational technique epistemological obstacles. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical problem-solving abilities experienced procedural and operational technique epistemological obstacle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui apakah strategi scaffolding efektif dalam menurunkan kecemasan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika di MTsN 1 Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dengan menggunakan tes, lembar respon siswa, dan lembar pengamat untuk melihat efektivitas strategi scaffolding dalam pembelajaran dan menggunakan angket untuk melihat penurunan kecemasan siswa pada setiap aspek kecemasan siswa. Populasi penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII MTsN 1 Lhokseumawe dengan menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas VIII Al-Haytam yang berjumlahkan 30 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga indikator efektivitas pembelajaran terpenuhi, serta dalam penurunan kecemasan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika hasil yang diperoleh pada setiap aspek terdapat peningkatan yang menunjukkan bahwa strategi scaffolding memberikan dampak yang positif terhadap penurunan kecemasan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Maka berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh disimpulkan bahwa strategi scaffolding efektif dalam menurunkan kecemasan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika di MTsN 1 Lhokseumawe.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Problem Based Learning yang dibantu oleh video pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 1 Langsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes, observasi guru, observasi siswa, dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif sesuai dengan data yang telah di pilah sesuai dengan nilai dan indikator yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan video pembelajaran secara signifikan hasil belajar siswa mencapai ketuntasan, dengan 82,35% siswa mencapai nilai KKM yaitu nilai 75. Hasil observasi terhadap guru menunjukkan kinerja yang sangat baik dengan persentase 89,58%, sementara hasil observasi siswa menunjukkan kinerja yang sangat baik dan persentase 87,5%. Tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan video pembelajaran sangat positif, dengan 79,41% respon pada kategori "Sangat Sesuai", 11,25% pada kategori "Sesuai", dan hanya 2,79% pada kategori "Kurang Sesuai", tanpa ada respon pada kategori "Tidak Sesuai".Sehingga disarankan agar guru menggunakan video pembelajaran untuk memaksimalkan pembelajaran.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the mathematical concept and obtain information on mat weaving in Padang Tikar village. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research with an ethnographic approach. Data obtained from this study through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this study involved 4 subjects, namely 3 mat weaving craftsmen in Padang Tikar Village and 1 elder who knows the history of mat weaving culture in Padang Tikar Village. The results of this study so that we can find out the mathematical concepts that exist in mat weaving, the mathematical concepts that exist in mat weaving are geometric concepts, namely lines, perpendicular lines, flat shapes (squares, triangles,) and spatial shapes (cylinders).

Abstract

Electronic modules are one of the learning resources by technological developments. This research aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning-based GeoGebra e-module to improve students' low mathematical spatial ability. The type of research used is development research (R&D) with the ADDIE model which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The instruments used were spatial ability test sheets, questionnaires, and interviews. Data collection uses spatial ability tests, field notes, and interviews. The development of the e-module was carried out with the Canva application which is integrated with GeoGebra and Youtube on prism space building materials. The validation of the e-module is carried out by the mathematics teacher as the validator of the material expert and the ICT teacher as the validator of the media expert. The e-module trial was conducted on 38 students of one of the junior high schools in Garut Regency in the 2024/2025 school year who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the GeoGebra e-module with a feasible category based on the validity aspect through the test of media experts and material experts with a percentage of 81%, the practical aspect through a student response questionnaire with a percentage of 85% and the teacher's response with a percentage of 83%, and the effectiveness aspect based on the test results as many as 80% of students have met the KKM score. Therefore, the PBL-based GeoGebra e-module is feasible to use and can improve the spatial mathematical ability of junior high school students in spatial building materials.

Abstract

Learning that facilitates non-mathematics students in creating a new learning atmosphere has not yet aligned with the characteristics and availability of digital-based learning tools. This study aims to develop digital book-based teaching materials designed to support and enhance the learning experience of students in the Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) Study Program. These materials are tailored to meet the needs of PIAUD students and can be easily accessed online through laptops and smartphones. This development research employs the ADDIE method, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The developed teaching materials were validated by experts, including media and material experts. Data were collected using validation sheets consisting of expert validations and response questionnaires. The validation results from media experts yielded an average score of 88.37%, categorized as very valid, while the validation results from material experts yielded an average score of 88.05%, also categorized as very valid. After the materials were deemed valid, they were tested on students. The responses from the distributed questionnaires indicated that the developed materials were feasible for use. Moreover, the digital book-based teaching tools were practical and effective in providing a learning experience where students could easily comprehend each topic presented, supported by embedded instructional videos.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the epistemological learning obstacles experienced by prospective mathematics teacher students in understanding the concept of limits in Calculus 1 lectures and the concept of limits. The primary focus of the analysis was conducted based on the categories of AVAE ERRORS (ARITH, VAR, AE, and EQS) related to the student's algebraic ability. The method employed was qualitative research involving 38 prospective mathematics teachers from one of the universities in West Java. Data was collected through written tests and confirmation interviews. The results showed that the most dominant epistemological learning obstacles were in the categories of AE (errors in algebraic expressions) and ARITH (arithmetic errors). These findings suggest that students struggle to apply prerequisite knowledge effectively to more complex limit problems. Therefore, a learning approach is needed that emphasizes not only algebraic procedures but also a deep conceptual understanding of the concept of limits.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in anxiety and mathematics commonly experienced by prospective mathematics teachers. This study involved 25 respondents from the Mathematics Education Study Program. This study used a quantitative descriptive analysis approach and collected data in March 2025 using a digital questionnaire with a Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, including percentages, were used to analyze the data. Based on the study findings, female teachers were more anxious than their male counterparts, especially in terms of emotional pressure, teaching readiness, and understanding of gender roles in the classroom. These results indicate that both groups exhibit high levels of self-confidence, despite differences in anxiety levels based on gender. Therefore, to optimally prepare prospective mathematics teachers, teacher education programs should include techniques for managing anxiety in teaching. The small sample size and limited number of respondents are the main limitations of this study.
