Abstract

Abstract Leadership is a key factor in achieving organizational goals, particularly in motivating members to perform effectively. This study explores the leadership strategies of Imam Al-Ghazali, focusing on spiritual and moral dimensions to enhance motivation. Employing a qualitative library research method, the study analyzes primary texts such as Ihya Ulumuddin and Nasihat al-Muluk. The results reveal that leadership, according to Al-Ghazali, is rooted in ethical responsibility, justice, and wisdom. His principles of motivation emphasize aligning actions with the ultimate purpose of life—seeking Allah's pleasure—while balancing material and spiritual needs. Furthermore, Al-Ghazali outlines strategies such as leading by example (uswatun hasanah), instilling values of honesty and piety, fostering harmony, and providing rewards that strengthen spiritual commitment. This study concludes that Al-Ghazali’s leadership framework offers a holistic approach, integrating spiritual growth with social and organizational welfare, and is relevant for contemporary leadership practices aiming to inspire and empower individuals.

Abstract

Halal certification plays a strategic role in enhancing consumer trust in MSME products, particularly in Indonesia’s culinary sector. This study analyzes the integration of local wisdom in the halal certification process to strengthen acceptance and compliance among MSME entrepreneurs. A case study was conducted on Petis Umi Sulis, a business in Bantaran District, Probolinggo, with guidance from P3H and LPH UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Using a qualitative case study approach, this research employed observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the use of local raw materials, traditional production methods, and the application of religious values facilitate the halal certification process. Door-to-door mentoring by P3H proved effective in enhancing entrepreneurs’ understanding of halal regulations. Halal certification not only increases product competitiveness but also supports cultural preservation and community economic empowerment. Therefore, a local wisdom-based approach should be widely implemented with policy support to strengthen synergy between the government, academia, and business actors, fostering a sustainable and compliant halal business ecosystem.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Adversity Quotient (AQ) can be a predictor of the mathematical communication ability of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in the topic of statistics. AQ is an individual's ability to respond to and overcome difficulties, measured using the Adversity Response Profile (ARP) questionnaire consisting of 40 negative statements based on Stoltz's theory (2004), which includes four indicators: Control (C), Ownership (O₂), Reach (R), and Endurance (E). The AQ score range is 40–200. Meanwhile, students' mathematical communication skills are measured through an essay test consisting of eight questions based on indicators from Sumarmo (2014). This study uses a non-experimental quantitative approach with a correlational design. The residual normality test showed a significance value of 0.299, indicating that the residuals are normally distributed. Simple linear regression analysis resulted in the regression equation Ŷ = -8.463 + 0.194x, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 30.7%. The ANOVA test showed a significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the Adversity Quotient on mathematical communication ability. These results indicate that the Adversity Quotient can be used as a predictor in identifying students' mathematical communication ability at MI, particularly in the topic of statistics

Abstract

Moral degradation among youth in Indonesia, exacerbated by digital disruption and globalization, necessitates an urgent reevaluation of character education within formal schooling. This study explores the implementation of religious activities as a strategy to strengthen students’ religious character at MI Nurul Mun’im Karanganyar, a primary Islamic school located in a coastal and culturally diverse region. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings reveal six interrelated strategies in religious activity implementation: curriculum integration, religious habituation, direct worship training, extracurricular Islamic programs, teacher role modeling, and behavioral instruction. These strategies are supported by strong school leadership, teacher cohesion, parental involvement, and adequate facilities. However, challenges remain, including inconsistent student discipline, varied religious support from families, and limitations in teacher capacity and documentation. The study underscores the significance of a holistic and contextual approach to character education, where religious activities are not merely ritualistic but serve as transformative pedagogical practices. The implications of this research provide practical recommendations for Islamic educational institutions in similar sociocultural contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of self-confidence on the mathematical communication ability of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in the topic of three-dimensional geometry. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 28 students from a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Garut Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The instruments used in this study included a self-confidence questionnaire and a written test to assess students' mathematical communication skills. Data analysis using simple linear regression revealed a significant effect of self-confidence on students' mathematical communication ability, with a significance value of 0.002 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.314, indicating that self-confidence contributes 31.4% to students’ mathematical communication performance. These findings suggest that students with higher self-confidence tend to demonstrate better mathematical communication skills. The study recommends that teachers and schools give greater attention to fostering students’ self-confidence as a means to support success in mathematics learning

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Aswaja (Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah) values in the daily life of the Trimulyo village community. Trimulyo is a predominantly Muslim village whose residents have long embraced Aswaja teachings as a foundation for both social and religious life. Employing a qualitative field research approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that Aswaja values are practiced in tangible ways across various aspects of community life. Socially, the community upholds the principles of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), solidarity, and interfaith as well as interethnic tolerance. Religiously, residents regularly perform congregational prayers and actively participate in religious assemblies such as yasinan and sholawatan, which reinforce a moderate understanding of Islam. This study contributes to the discourse on how moderate Islamic teachings can be contextualized within rural communities to foster social harmony and religious coexistence.

Abstract

Risk mitigation in mudharabah financing is a critical measure for Islamic microfinance institutions such as BMT Assyafi’iyah Berkah Nasional Kotagajah to maintain financial stability and reduce the risk of default. Risks such as moral hazard, information asymmetry, and limited member understanding of mudharabah contracts can significantly hinder financing operations. To address these challenges, the institution has implemented strategies including stringent screening of financing applicants by assessing business feasibility and financial history, conducting regular supervision, providing business mentoring, and educating members on the rights and obligations under mudharabah contracts. As a cooperative-based financial institution owned by its members, BMT Assyafi’iyah holds a significant responsibility to manage mudharabah financing in alignment with Islamic principles. The effectiveness of risk mitigation not only affects the operational sustainability of the institution but also the overall welfare of its members. This study aims to analyze the implementation of risk mitigation strategies in mudharabah financing at BMT Assyafi’iyah Berkah Nasional and evaluate their alignment with Veithzal Rivai’s risk mitigation principles. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and internal document analysis to gain a deep and contextual understanding. The findings indicate that although the institution has implemented key mitigation strategies—such as strict selection processes and business assistance—their effectiveness is still hindered by limited human resources, inadequate monitoring technology, and low member literacy regarding Islamic contracts. The study recommends capacity building, enhancement of technology-based monitoring systems, and intensive education for members. These findings provide valuable insights for other Islamic microfinance institutions aiming to improve the sustainability and Sharia compliance of their financing operations.

Abstract

The interpretation of the Qur'an remains a controversial issue among Muslims. The various methods of interpretation employed by scholars have led to differing opinions regarding the meanings and implications of Qur'anic verses. In this context, the hadith approach as a primary source for interpreting the Qur'an becomes crucial. Al-Bukhārī, as one of the prominent hadith scholars, possesses a unique method of using hadith as a source for Qur'anic interpretation. This research aims to analyze Al-Bukhārī's method in utilizing hadith as a source for interpreting the Qur'an and its implications for understanding the Qur'an. By employing a qualitative research method, this study analyzes the book of Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī as a primary data source. The findings indicate that Al-Bukhārī uses hadith as a source for interpreting the Qur'an to clarify the meanings of its verses and to establish Islamic laws. The implications of this research suggest that the hadith approach in interpreting the Qur'an can aid in clarifying its meanings and establishing more accurate legal rulings.
