Abstract

Background: Nutrition is more commonly known as obesity is a condition where the calories consumed are more than the calories used causing excessive accumulation of fat in the body which can result in health problems. Objective: This study plans to find out information about excess nutrition in adolescents, especially junior high school students, regarding the relationship between eating habits and physical activity with the incidence of overweight Methods: The population in this study were class 7 and 8 with a total sample of 62 people with a cross sectional study design. Data analysis used bivariate analysis using the Chi Square tes.t. Results: there are more unhealthy eating habits than good habits, while for very light physical activity there are more than light activities. Conclusion: There is a relationship between eating habits and physical activity with the incidence of overweight in junior high school adolescents. Poor eating habits and very little physical activity can potentially lead to over nutrition.

Abstract

Brownies is one kind of cake which is popular in public, it has brown color, unexpand with a sweet taste and chocolate flavor. So it can be used as an alternative ways to adding other ingredients on food products to increase nutrient content especially potasium. Hypertension is a condition where the increase in systolic blood is above the normal limit, namely > 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure > 90 mmHg. Examples of food sources of potassium are bananas, potato, sweet potato, tomato, red beans, advocado, seafood, and milk. This study was conducted from March-April 2023. This study was conducted using a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that the selected brownies was the F3 brownie formulation (91 grams of mung bean flour and 39 grams of plantain peel puree) with a moisture content of 35.30%, ash content of 1.18%, total fat content of 12.68%, protein 8.60%, carbohydrates 42.24%, total energy 317.48 Kcal/100 g, and energy from fat 114.12 Kcal/100 g. For Potassium and Sodium content, namely 251.07 mg/100 g and 46.58 mg/100 g. It is necessary to conduct further research on the effect of giving green bean flour brownies and plantain peel puree on the prevention of hypertension those without other complications for the elderly, both male and female.

Abstract

Background: Fruit and vegetable have advantages as a source of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals which play an important role in growth and disease prevention. Low vegetable and fruit intake in children is associated with a risk of health problems in adulthood. Purpose: To determine the relationship of knowledge, availability, and preferences with the consumption of vegetables and fruit in elementary school children. Methods: The research location is SDN 01 Hajimena, Natar District, South Lampung. There were 66 students who participated in this study. Participants were grade 5 and 6 students who were taken by systematic random sampling of 199 students. The design of this study was cross-sectional, when data collection was conducted in May 2023. Data analysis used the Chi-Squared test. Result: The results showed that the consumption of vegetables and fruit for school children was low. The average consumption of vegetables is 159 grams/day while fruit consumption is 102 grams/day. Conclusion: Knowledge, availability, preferences of vegetables and fruit correlated with vegetable and fruit consumption (p<0.05).

Abstract

Background: Hypertension, or often referred to as high blood pressure is an increase in blood pressure that occurs continuously and is not normal in many arteries. High blood pressure can be caused by several factors, namely, foods that are high in salt, fatty foods, the habit of consuming coffee, lack of exercise or physical activity, and stress. The purpose of this study was to look at Consumption of Micronutrients and Knowledge of Hypertension Sufferers in Bengkulu City. Method: This type of research is descriptive and uses a cross-sectional design, and uses total sampling. The number of samples was 48 respondents with hypertension. Results: out of 48 samples there were 48 hypertensive patients, there was an average value for consumption of Vitamin D, namely 18.3 mcg, Sodium, which was 2,700.3 mg, Calcium, which was 1,013.6 mg, who was 40 years old. -44 years, namely (37.5%), those with high school education, namely (68.7%), those with housewife work, namely (89.6%), and those who have good knowledge, namely (43.75%), and those who have bad knowledge (56.25%). Conclusion: Consumption of Calcium is still low, Consumption of Vitamin D is sufficient, and Consumption of Sodium is almost entirely excessive and Knowledge is mostly still poor (low).

Abstract

Background : Young women are a group that is prone to anemia because they are easily influenced by the social environment including food selection.9) The impact on young women is a decrease in learning concentration so that they can experience bleeding before and during childbirth. Purpose of the study was to determine the picture of nutritional knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls towards adherence to taking blood-added tablets at SMA Negeri 6 Palembang. Method is discriptive with a cross sectional design. The sample used was 70 young women in class XI MIPA and Social Studies. For sampling techniques using proportional stratified random sampling and simple random sampling with analysis data using univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: this study showed that 64 people (91.4%) of adolescent girls with non-compliance knowledge and 55 women (78.6%). Conclusion: From the cross-table analysis, adherence of adolescent girls taking TTD (Blood Added Tablets) both has nutritional knowledge as many as 15 people (23.4%) and admonition of adolescent girls with good attitudes as many as 11 people (55%) in taking blood added tablets. Suggestion: based on the results of this study, it is hoped that adolescent girls realize that taking TTD can minimize anemia and as a preparation for the future before becoming a mother.

Abstract

Background: Research data from Harapan and Doa Hospital in 2019 showed that the remaining vegetable protein increased to 27.61% and vegetables 56%. This rate still exceeds the minimum hospital service rate for food waste, which is ≤ 20%. Purpose of the study was to examine external factors that affect the remaining plant and vegetablefood in the diet of ordinary and soft foods as well as an overview of external factors at Harapan and Doa Hospital, Bengkulu City. Method: Cross sectional design with the type of analytic survey research used in this study with a sample of 34 respondents. Results: In the remaining vegetable side dishes, timeliness of feeding with a p-value of 0.648, food taste (0.182) and the attitude of the serving staff (0.487) which means that H0 failed to be rejected (> 0.05). For leftover vegetable food, the timeliness of feeding with a p-value of 0.647, the atmosphere of the caring environment (0.541) and the attitude of the serving staff (1.000) which means that H0 failed to be rejected (> 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the appearance of food and the consumption of food from the outsidewith vegetable and vegetable side dishes.es.

Abstract

Background : Anemia is a health problem in the world, both in developed and developing countries, which is not only experienced by pregnant women and women of childbearing age (WUS) but can also be experienced by adolescents, both young men and young women. Based on the 2013 Riskesdas, the prevalence of anemia in Indonesia was 21.7%, with 26.4% of sufferers aged 5-14 years and 15-24 aged 18.4% with a prevalence of anemia in women of 23.7%. One of the efforts to prevent anemia in young women can be done by consuming foods that are high in protein, iron and vitamin C. Purpose : The research aims to find out the right formulation of nuggets made from shrimp, tofu, sorghum flour and green spinach, product organoleptic namely color, aroma, taste and texture, analyzing macronutrients (protein, fat and carbohydrates) and micronutrients (iron and Vitamin C). Methods : The study used a completely randomized design with four formulas namely F1, F2, F3 and F4, based on the comparison of shrimp, tofu, sorghum flour and green spinach, 10:20:30:40; 40:30:20:10; 25:20:15:10; and 10:15:20:25. Statistical analysis used the Kruskall Wallish test and follow-up tests used the Mann-Whitney test. Results : The results of the study based on the RDA of 30% of female adolescents showed that 100 g of F1 formula contained protein, fat, carbohydrates, iron and vitamin C, namely 45%, 41%, 22%, 51% and 37%. Formula F2 contains 48%, 42%, 19%, 51% and 55%. Formula F3 contains 50%, 41%, 15%, 50% and 74%. Formula F4 contains 52%, 40%, 12%, 49% and 93%. Conclusion : The formula chosen based on the best treatment level is F2 with the first ranking result on the organoleptic test variable is taste.

Abstract

Background: Malnutrition is a state of health problems that occurs when the body lacks of nutrients needed for development, thinking, and other life activities. The growth process that inhibits the lack of energy that causes the body to become weak and the immune system weakens, which will facilitate the spread of disease, as well as decreased mental development resulting in weak thinking skills and permanent disruption of brain function are the result of nutritional problems in toddlers. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving catfish flour cookies and mocaf flour to changes in the body weight of nourished children under five. Methods: The type of this research is a true experiment (pure experiment) with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. Results: The results of the independent t-statistical test the difference in the average weight difference of children under five in the treatment group increased by 337.50 g and in the control group increased by 187.50 grams with p-value = 0.000. Conclusion: Cookies of catfish flour and mocaf flour affect changes in the body weight of undernourished toddlers and can be used as alternative food additives.

Abstract

Background: Overweight and obesity are conditions of excess carbohydrates and fat in adipose tissue and pose a risk of damaging health. The prevalence of obesity aged 13 – 15 years is 8,3% and obesity is 2,5%. Objective: This research is to determine carbohydrate intake and physical activity in junior high school students who experience overweight and obesity nutritional status in Tasikmalaya City. Method: This research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional design which was carried out from February to April 2023. Data were collected using anthropometric measurements to determine the nutritional status of respondents, interviews using the SQ-FFQ and IPAQ formulas to determine carbohydrate intake and physical activity. Data collections used a total sampling technique of 20 respondents. Results: There were 20 respondents who were obese. Most respondents were aged 13 – 14 years (85%). The majority of gender is male at 90%. Respondents with obesity were 50% and non-obese were 50%. Carbohydrate intake in the over category is 35%. Light physical activity is 20%, moderate physical activity is 75%. Conclusion: Overweight and obese teenagers at junior high school/ equivalent level experience problems with excessive carbohydrate intake and light or moderate physical activity.

Abstract

Background: Pregnant women were one of the prone groups to nutritional problems, where during pregnancy the need for iron increased so that they were at high risk of anemia. This happened because the nutritional needs of the mother and fetus increase so that they were at high risk of it. Objective: This research is to find out the effect of provision of mandiri pocket book (kusadari) consumption knowledge and compliance tablet for adding blood for pregnant mothers. Method: This research type was a Quasy Experimental Design with a pretest-posttest design used. The subjects of this study were pregnant women in the first and second trimesters and the number of samples was 35respondents. Data were taken using a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: There was a difference in the knowledge score at the end of the study before and after education with pocket book media (p = 0.000), while the compliance score at the end of the study showed a difference in compliance before and after education with pocket book media (p = 0.000). Conclusion: There was an effect of providing an independent monitoring pocket book on the knowledge and compliance of the consumption of Blood-Added Tablets (TTD) in pregnant women.
