Abstract

Waste is always a major problem faced by every region. Poor waste management can cause losses, including foul odors, disruption of beauty, flooding, and the threat of increased various diseases. Biopori is an appropriate and environmentally friendly technology to address waste problems. Biopori can help reduce organic waste by decomposing it and turning it into compost that can be utilized by farmers. This activity aims to increase residents' understanding of the dangers of waste and the potential use of Biopori through outreach activities and practical demonstrations of Biopori installation in local residents' homes. The method of implementation of the activity was carried out through socialization to stimulate public interest and curiosity regarding Biopori Holes, as well as direct practice where students directly practiced making Biopori Holes. The result of your activity is the installation of one biopore hole as an example for the community to utilize and develop, as well as an increase in knowledge about the concept, benefits, and techniques of installing biopores, and how to manage waste, especially organic waste.

Abstract

The Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) is a community service initiative carried out by students of Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu during the 3rd Period of 2025, located in Pematang Gubernur Subdistrict, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City. This KKN-T program involved 15 groups of students assigned across various neighborhood units (RT) within the area. Our group, assigned to RT 18 RW 02, designed and implemented a tutoring program (bimbel) for elementary school children focusing on two subjects: mathematics and English. This program was developed based on initial observations which revealed that most children had difficulties in understanding basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as well as challenges in memorizing and using basic English vocabulary. The main contributing factors to these problems included the lack of learning assistance at home, limited learning time at school, and the absence of engaging learning methods. To address these issues, we conducted tutoring sessions twice a week using fun and interactive methods such as quizzes, ice breaking activities, and individual exercises. The results of the program showed that the children experienced improvement in their interest in learning, comprehension of the material, and confidence in facing mathematics and English lessons. This program demonstrated that an interactive and enjoyable learning approach can create a positive learning environment and significantly contribute to improving the quality of education in the community. In addition to having a positive impact on the students, this activity also served as a means for students to actualize themselves by applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired in university to real life situations.

Abstract

The destruction of mangrove ecosystems in various coastal areas of Indonesia has threatened the environmental balance and the livelihoods of communities that depend on coastal resources. In the coastal area of Baai Island, Bengkulu City, pressure on mangrove ecosystems has increased due to industrial activities, land conversion, and low public awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. In response to this situation, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal Pulau Baai initiated a community-based mangrove rehabilitation program as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR/TJSL). The program was implemented over a period of four months and involved various parties, including civil society organizations (Yakesma Bengkulu), local communities, and the Bengkulu City Government. Core activities of the program included planting and maintaining 2,025 Rhizophora mucronata mangrove seedlings, technical training, and participatory growth monitoring. This collaborative approach aims not only to restore the ecological functions of the coastal area but also to foster community awareness and ownership of the environment. The results of the implementation demonstrate that active community involvement enhances the effectiveness of rehabilitation activities, strengthens local capacity, and opens opportunities for replicating the program in other coastal areas. This program shows that community-based mangrove rehabilitation initiatives launched by companies through CSR schemes can serve as a sustainable strategy for environmental conservation and community empowerment.

Abstract

Stunting in Indonesia is a health issue that continues to receive serious attention from the government. According to data from the Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia has shown a significant downward trend in recent years. The most striking decline occurred between 2021 and 2022, when the prevalence of stunting dropped from 24.4% to 21.6% (Ministry of Health, 2023a). The 2024 Indonesian Health Survey showed that the prevalence of stunting in toddlers aged 0-59 months was 15.8%, while in children aged 0-23 months (toddlers) it was 12.9% (Ministry of Health, 2023b). The government aims to reduce the stunting rate to 14% by the end of 2024, requiring an average reduction of 1.8% to achieve this target (Teja, 2022). The objectives to be achieved through the activity "Training cadres in efforts to prevent stunting in Talang Curup Village" are to increase cadre knowledge about efforts to prevent stunting, Increase cadre awareness about efforts to prevent stunting, Reduce the risk of stunting, improve the quality of life of toddlers, increase cadre participation in improving parenting and eating patterns. In this activity, cadres are given material supplies in the form of counseling, which begins with a pre-test, after which they are given materials, then a question and answer session is carried out which is then to evaluate the cadre's understanding, ending with a post-test. In the pre-test and post-test sessions, cadres are given ten questions with a score of <60 meaning poor knowledge and a score> 60 meaning good knowledge. It is hoped that after participating in this counseling, cadres will be able to maintain and have a high awareness to maintain parenting and nutritional intake in toddlers. Lack of cadre knowledge about efforts to prevent stunting can cause various problems in growth and development and nutrition in toddlers. Stunting is a condition of failure to grow in toddlers due to chronic malnutrition so that children are shorter for their age. (malnutrition occurs since the baby is in the womb and in the early life after birth, but only appears after the child is 2 years old). Understanding of stunting prevention efforts for cadres does not have good knowledge regarding stunting prevention. So with the provision of this education in Talang Curup Village, it is hoped that it can increase the knowledge of cadres and influence behavior in maintaining parenting and eating patterns as well as clean and healthy living. The method used is lectures and group discussions that take place interactively. The number of cadres who attended was 10 people. Cadres really need health education that discusses stunting prevention efforts. The results of this activity achieved the goal, The outreach activity of providing education on stunting prevention efforts to increase the knowledge of cadres in Talang Curup Village has increased the knowledge of cadres so that it is expected to continue to increase the knowledge of cadres about stunting, The achievement of the target in this community service activity which is targeted is cadres with a total of 10 people, The achievement of the target of this community service activity is increasing adolescent knowledge about stunting prevention efforts. This can also be seen from the post-test results which are better than the pre-test results. In the post-test results, it can be seen that most of the cadres who initially had low scores have improved. This is certainly a benchmark that the material presented can be well received by the counseling participants. From the results of this counseling, it can be concluded that the counseling material on "Cadre Training in Stunting Prevention Efforts in Talang Curup Village" is an effective method in increasing cadre knowledge regarding stunting and its prevention, this can also be seen from the results of the post-test and pre-tests which are better than the results of the pre-test. In the post-test results, it can be seen that most of the adolescents who initially had low scores have improved. This is certainly a benchmark that the material presented can be well received by the counseling participants, it is hoped that this increase in knowledge can change the attitude of cadres to be more concerned with stunting prevention.

Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) is a form of conditional social assistance that has proven effective in improving the quality of life of poor families in various regions of Indonesia. In Lampung Province, this program plays a strategic role in poverty alleviation efforts while strengthening community social resilience, particularly in rural areas that still face limited access to basic services. The policy direction of the PKH Lampung 2025–2030 program focuses on building independent families through increasing economic capacity, education, and health. The program's primary target group is nearly 400,000 Beneficiary Families (KPM), with priority given to households with school-age children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. This research uses a case study approach, emphasizing the implementation strategy of the PKH Lampung 2025–2030 program, which integrates the use of data, technology, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. A SWOT analysis is applied to assess the program's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, particularly in practice in Tanjung Harapan Village, Central Lampung. Field studies demonstrate the success of empowering beneficiary families (KPM) through synergy with social services, entrepreneurship training, and the development of cooperative-based sewing and garment businesses marketed through digital platforms. The research confirms that the role of PKH social facilitators significantly contributes to increasing the program's effectiveness, although challenges remain in human resource capacity and cross-sector coordination. Therefore, strengthening competencies through tiered training, providing proportional incentives, integrating economic empowerment programs, a digitalization roadmap, and participatory monitoring are crucial steps. With this strategy, the effectiveness of PKH in Lampung can be sustained while reducing the community's dependence on aid.
