Abstract

This study aims to examine illocutionary speech acts used in the context of religious abuse. This problem is examined in pragmatics, specifically through illocutionary speech acts. This study aims to identify and describe the types of illocutionary speech acts in the context of religious abuse in digital media. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a pragmatic theoretical approach. Data were obtained through the listening-and-note-taking method from the video series "#ESCAPE - Raymond Chin X Ustadz Felix Siauw," which focuses on religious abuse, and then analyzed using the matching method. The results of the study indicate the presence of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative used to convey certain intentions. These speech acts not only function as linguistic and educational tools, but also encourage critical thinking among the audience and have the potential to shape opinions. The dominant illocutionary speech act in the video is the assertive type. This is because the speaker mostly delivers statements, explanations, and arguments to provide information. This study contributes to the development of pragmatic research and increases public critical awareness of sensitive issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the financial performance of PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk during the period 2020–2024. The research method used is descriptive quantitative by utilizing secondary data in the form of annual financial reports obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and the company's official website. Financial performance is measured through four main ratio groups, namely liquidity ratios (Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Cash Ratio), solvency ratios (Debt to Assets Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio), profitability ratios (Gross Profit Margin, Operating Profit Margin, Net Profit Margin, Return on Assets, Return on Equity), and activity ratios (Total Assets Turnover, Fixed Assets Turnover). The results of the analysis show that PT Industri Jamu dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk has a very healthy financial performance. The liquidity aspect shows a strong ability to meet short-term obligations. The company's capital structure is considered solvable with a low level of debt dependence. In terms of profitability, the company is able to achieve optimal and efficient profit margins. Furthermore, activity ratios confirm that operational assets are being utilized productively to generate sales. Overall, the company demonstrated stable and resilient financial growth throughout the observation period.

Abstract

Sertifikat prediksi TOEFL merupakan salah satu persyaratan yang harus diserahkan oleh setiap mahasiswa di UIN KH Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan sebelum proyek akhir atau sidang tesis mereka. Data awal dari unit bahasa kami menunjukkan bahwa, dari 598 peserta tes pada tahun 2023, 57% gagal pada percobaan pertama, sementara 34% harus mengulanginya bahkan setelah percobaan kedua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang membuat mahasiswa universitas kami kesulitan mencapai nilai lulus TOEFL, khususnya pada bagian membaca, dan mengatasi tantangan ini melalui program yang disebut Immersion Bootcamp. Ini adalah penelitian tindakan partisipatif. Selama program, mahasiswa diberikan berbagai kegiatan mulai dari menonton film hingga membaca cerita pendek dan menyanyikan lagu-lagu berbahasa Inggris. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 24 dari 41 peserta mengalami peningkatan nilai membaca TOEFL setelah mengikuti Immersion Bootcamp. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Immersion Bootcamp sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman bacaan mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Balinese culture-based digital comic learning media on the topic of force for fourth-grade elementary school students. The study also aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the media in improving students’ learning outcomes. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results showed that the developed digital comic had a very high level of feasibility based on evaluations from media and material experts. The media was also considered highly practical based on teachers’ and students’ responses. In addition, the effectiveness test using the One Group Pre-test Post-test design showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using the digital comic media. Therefore, the Balinese culture-based digital comic is considered feasible and effective as an alternative learning media for science and social studies (IPAS) on the topic of force in fourth-grade elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of communication using the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) approach in Early Childhood Education (ECE) learning in the 21st century. The HOTS approach is a learning strategy that emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making through interactive communication between teachers and children. This study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method by reviewing relevant books, scientific journals, and educational documents related to communication and HOTS-based learning. The findings indicate that effective two-way communication creates an active, enjoyable, and child-centered learning environment that encourages children to ask questions, express opinions, participate in discussions, and solve problems according to their developmental stages. Teachers play an essential role as facilitators by providing stimulation through open-ended questions, discussions, and exploratory learning activities to foster higher-order thinking skills. Furthermore, HOTS-based communication supports children's language, social, and emotional development while enhancing their learning participation and preparing them to face the challenges of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Communication is an important aspect in the development of early childhood, especially in improving language skills as a foundation for children’s social and cognitive development. Interactive communication between teachers and children creates a learning environment that encourages children to express ideas, convey feelings, and develop vocabulary through meaningful interactions. This study aims to examine the role of interactive communication between teachers and children in improving early childhood language abilities. The method used in this study is a literature review approach by analyzing various theories and previous studies related to teacher-child communication and early childhood language development. The results of the study indicate that effective interactive communication, including verbal and nonverbal communication, questioning strategies, active listening, and positive responses from teachers, can stimulate children’s speaking skills, confidence, and ability to communicate. Therefore, teachers have an important role as facilitators in creating communicative learning activities that support optimal language development in early childhood.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of ecological values in Chandra Bientang’s novel Batu Berkaki through an ecocritical literary approach. The primary focus is to describe how the novel depicts the complex relationship between humans and the environment. The research method employs a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis, grounded in Greg Garrard’s ecocritical framework, which encompasses the concepts of pollution, wilderness, apocalypse, dwelling, animals, and earth. Data were collected through close reading of the novel. The results show that the novel Batu Berkaki comprehensively represents all six of Garrard’s ecocritical concepts, highlighting the impact of human activities on the environment as well as the efforts of local communities to preserve ecological wisdom. This representation reaffirms the role of literature as a reflective medium for fostering ecological awareness and ethical relationships between humans and nature. This study contributes to the understanding of Indonesian literary ecocriticism, particularly in analyzing works that address environmental issues.

Abstract

Inclusive education seeks to ensure that all learners, including students with special needs, have equal access to quality educational services. Its successful implementation depends on accessibility and educational fairness, which enable students to participate meaningfully in the learning process. This study examined the implementation of these two aspects at SMP Negeri 15 Semarang using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students with special needs, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that accessibility has been supported through inclusive classroom environments, appropriate seating arrangements, adaptive instructional strategies, simplified learning materials, individualized learning assistance, and emotional support. However, several challenges remain, including unequal classroom facilities, damaged learning equipment, and classroom conditions that have not fully supported the learning process. Educational fairness was reflected in equal learning opportunities, instructional adjustments based on students' needs, social support from teachers and peers, and the active participation of students with special needs in school activities. Nevertheless, several obstacles persisted, including excessive peer teasing, limited self-confidence among some students, and insufficient opportunities for individualized assistance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of developing test-based learning media on the topic of Essen und Trinken (Food and Drink) using the Easy Test Maker application, and to measure the outcomes of this development in A1-level German language learning. This research and development (R&D) study employed the Richey and Klein model, consisting of three stages: planning, production, and evaluation. The subjects were eleventh-grade students at MAN 2 Model Medan. The data source consisted of vocabulary and sentence-structure material on the topic of Essen und Trinken, adapted from the textbook Netzwerk neu A1: Deutsch als Fremdsprache. Data were collected through classroom observation, interviews with German teachers, pre-tests and post-tests, and expert validation of the material. The findings show that the development of Easy Test Maker-based media was successfully carried out through the three stages. In the evaluation stage, students' learning outcomes improved from the pre-test to the post-test on both multiple-choice and essay items. Qualitatively, students showed increased motivation, confidence, and engagement after using the media. It can be concluded that test-based learning media developed with Easy Test Maker is effective as an interactive evaluation alternative in German language learning, particularly on the topic of Essen und Trinken.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in mathematics instruction to enhance elementary school students' creativity, using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar, SINTA, and DOAJ databases using relevant keywords. The initial search yielded 337 articles, which were then screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 18 eligible articles for analysis. The selection process followed the PRISMA protocol to ensure transparency in the identification, screening, and data extraction stages. Inclusion criteria covered articles published between 2019–2025, indexed in SINTA, and addressing PjBL implementation in elementary mathematics learning. The findings reveal that PjBL has a significant positive impact on improving students' creativity across various topics, including fractions, measurement, data processing, and geometry. Through project-based activities, students developed contextual understanding, collaborative skills, and problem-solving orientation, while also demonstrating active participation, learning independence, and cooperative task completion. These findings confirm that PjBL is an effective instructional approach with strong potential for broader application in elementary mathematics education to optimally support students' creative development.
